FRONT AIR BAGS Disarming the passenger air bag* Insert the ignition key in the switch 1and turn it to:
- the ONposition; the passenger
air bag is armed,
- the OFFposition; the passenger
air bag is disarmed.
Operating check
With the ignition on (2nd notch),illumination of this warning light,accompanied by an audible sig-nal and the message"Passenger air bag deactivat-ed" on the multifunction display,
indicates that the passenger airbag is disarmed (switch in the"OFF" position).
The warning lightremains on through-out the disarmingprocess. ''ISOFIX'' MOUNTINGS
Available on the front passenger seat, Isofix mountings allow fit-ting of a
special child seat sold
by PEUGEOT dealers. The locks incorporated in the child seat fit onto the 'Isofix'mountings, ensuring reliable,
safe and fast fitting. The childseat must be fitted in the rear-wards-facing position for childrenless than 13kg (in this event it
is essential to disarm the pas-senger air bag). Follow the instructions for fitting the child seat in theinstallation brochure.
Precautions regarding thepassenger air bag
Vehicle fitted with a passenger air bag disarming switch:
- disarm the air
bag if you install a rearwards-fac-ing child seat
- arm the air bag for an adult pas-
senger.
Vehicle not fitted with a passengerair bag disarming switch:
- do not install a rear- wards-facing child seat on the frontpassenger seat.
Never place your feet or anyobject on the fascia panel.

Handbrake, low brake fluid level and fault inElectronic BrakeForce Distributionsystem warning light
Linked with the central STOP warning light. Indicates either:
- that the handbrake is on or has not been released correctly,
- an excessive drop in the brake fluid level (if the light remains lit even with the handbrakereleased),
- a fault in the Electronic Brake Force Distribution system if lit
simultaneously with the ABS warn-ing light.
Stop immediately.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

A permantly lit warning light or one that flashes, with the enginerunning, indicates an operatingfault in the relevant unit. Somewarning lights may be accompa-nied by an audible signal and amessage on the multifunctionscreen. Do not ignore this warning: contact a PEUGEOT dealer as soon as
possible. If the Central STOPwarning light comes on when youare driving, stop immediatelywhere it is safe to do so.
Anti-lock brake system (ABS) warning light This comes on for 3 seconds
each time the ignition is switched on. If the warning light remains on or comes on above 7 mph (12 km/h),
this indicates an ABS malfunction.
However, the vehicle retains con- ventional servo-assisted braking. Lighting of this warning light is accompanied by an audible signaland the message "ABS fault"on
the multifunction display.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Engine oil pressure warning light Linked with the central
STOP warning light.
Stop immediately.This warning light indicates either:
- insufficient oil pressure,
- lack of oil in the lubrication circuit. Top up the oil level.
- oil temperature which is too high. Switching on of the warning light is accompanied by an audible signal.
To lower the oil temperature,reduce your speed.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Coolant temperature and low level warninglight
Linked with the central STOP warn- ing light.
Stop immediately.Allow the engine to cool before top- ping up. The cooling system is pressurised.In the event of breakdown and to prevent the risk of scalding , turn
the cap twice to allow the pressureto drop. Once the pressure has dropped, remove the cap and top up the level.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Central STOP warning light Linked with the warn-
ing light for the "engine oil pressure", the "coolant temperature and lowlevel gauge", the "handbrake", the"brake fluid low level" and ''electro-nic braking system fault''. Stop immediately if the light is flashing with the engine running.

Front and side air bags warning light The warning light comes on
for a few seconds when the ignition is switched on. Switching on of this warning light, with the engine running, is accom-panied by an audible signal and amessage on the multifunction dis-play indicating a fault in the air bags.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Seat belt not fastened warning light*
When the ignition is switched on,the warning light comes on when
the driver has not fastened his seat belt.
Engine autodiagnos- tics warning light This comes on each time
the ignition is switched on. If it comes on when the engine isrunning, it indicates a malfunction inthe injection, ignition or emission
control system. There is a risk of
damage to your catalytic converter.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer rapidly.
Low fuel level warning light
When the warning light first
comes on, you have enough fuel to drive at least 30 miles (50 km) (the tank capacity is
approximately 47 litres (10.3 gallons)).
Coolant temperature indicator light
- When the needle is in zone (A), the
temperature is correct.
- When the needle is in zone ( B), the
temperature is too high. The cen- tral STOP warning light flashes.
You must stop immediately.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

Dynamic stability control (ESP/ASR)warning light
This comes on for a few seconds each time the ignition is switchedon.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer if the ESP/ASR switch indicator lightflashes and this warning lightremains on or comes on with theengine running, vehicle moving. With the engine running and the vehicle moving, it flashes if thesystem is activated. It comes on permanently when the system is disarmed.
Passenger air bag disarming indicator light* Switching on of this indica-
tor light is accompanied by an audi- ble signal and the message''Passenger air bag deactivated''
on the multifunction display. If the passenger air bag is disarmed, the indicator light switches on andremains on. In all cases, if the warning light flashes, contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Battery charge warning light
This can indicate any of the follow- ing situations:
- faulty operation of the charging circuit,
- loose battery or starter terminals,- a cut or slack alternator belt,- an alternator fault.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer.

HAZARD WARNING LIGHTS
Press the button, the direction indi- cators flash. They can operate with the ignition
off. Automatic lighting of hazard warning lights*
When braking in an emergency, depending on the force of decelera-tion, the hazard warning lights come
on automatically. They switch offautomatically the first time youaccelerate.
It is also possible to switch them off by pressing the button.

Total distance recorder Briefly pressing button
1alternates
between the total distance and trip distance displays.
To reset the trip recorder to zero, when it is displayed press and holdthe reset button for just over 3 sec-onds. Lighting rheostat With the lights on, press the button to vary the intensity of the lighting ofthe instruments and controls. Whenthe lighting reaches the minimum (ormaximum) setting, release the but-ton then press it again to increase(or reduce) the brightness. As soon as the lighting is of the required brightness, release the but-ton.

32Setting the parameters Press button 1for two seconds to access the settings. The information flashes
to show it is ready to be modified.Then, individual presses on button 1allow you to scroll through the various data
in the following sequence:
Ð language in which the information is displayed,
Ð unit of distance (kms or miles),
Ð unit of temperature (degrees Celsius or Fahrenheit),
Ð time format (12 then 24 hour mode),
Ð hour,
Ð minutes,
Ð year,
Ð month,
Ð day.Pressing button 2allows you to change the information selected. Maintain the
pressure for rapid scrolling.After 7 seconds without operation, the screen returns to the main display and the modified data is recorded.
DISPLAY B This enables the following informa- tion to be displayed:
Ð the time,
Ð the date,
Ð the outside temperature (this flashes when there is a risk of ice),
Ð the radio displays,
Ð the status of the doors. The dis- play shows you, by means of a graphic, whether a door is open.
Ð the warning messages (e.g. ''bat-
tery charge low'') or information
messages (e.g. "fuel tank low''),
displayed temporarily, can becleared by pressing button 1or 2,
Ð the trip computer.

DISPLAY C This enables the following informa- tion to be displayed:
Ð the time,
Ð the date,
Ð the outside temperature (thisflashes when there is a risk of ice),
Ð the radio displays,
Ð the status of the doors. The dis- play shows you, by means of a graphic, whether a door is open, Ð the warning messages are displayed temporarily (e.g. "low fuel level") and can
be cleared using the remote control,
Ð the trip computer (see corresponding section),
Ð the satellite navigation system (see corresponding section). Setting the parameters
