The sealant cartridge is designed
for single use; even if only partly
used, it must be replaced.
To remove the cartridge, unscrew it
completely at its cap and pull off.
After use, do not discard the car-
tridge into the environment, take
it to an authorised waste disposal
site or a PEUGEOT dealer.
Do not forget to obtain a new
sealant cartridge, available from
PEUGEOT dealers.
Connect the compressor's electric
plug to the vehicle's 12 V socket.
Start the vehicle again and leave the
engine running.
Adjust the pressure using the com-
p r e s s o r ( t o i n fl a t e : s w i t c h B in position
"1" ; t o d e fl a t e : s w i t c h B in position
"0" and press button E ) , i n a c c o r d -
ance with the vehicle's tyre pressure
label (located on the left hand door
a p e r t u r e ) .
A loss of pressure indicates that the puncture has not been fully plugged;
contact a PEUGEOT dealer for as-
sistance.
Remove and stow the kit.
Visit a PEUGEOT dealer as
soon as possible to have the
tyre repaired or replaced by a
technician.
Drive at reduced speed (50 mph
[ 8 0 k m / h ] m a x ) l i m i t i n g t h e d i s t a n c e
t r a v e l l e d t o a p p r o x i m a t e l y 1 2 0 m i l e s
( 2 0 0 k m ) .

CHANGING A WHEEL *
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel
for the spare wheel using the tools pro-
vided with the vehicle.
The tools are installed in the boot under
t h e fl o o r .

s e c u r e i t b y h o o k i n g t h e c o r d ( s ) o n
t h e h o o k ( s ) o n t h e r e a r s h e l f s u p p o r t ,
r e m o v e t h e b o x c o n t a i n i n g t h e t o o l s .
Access to the tools

1. Wheelbrace.
Permits removal of the wheel trim a n d r e m o v a l o f t h e w h e e l fi x i n g
bolts.
2. Jack with integral handle.
Permits raising of the vehicle.
3. "Bolt cover" tool.
Permits removal of the bolt pro- t e c t o r s ( c o v e r s ) o n a l l o y w h e e l s .
4. Socket for the security bolts (lo-
c a t e d i n t h e g l o v e b o x ) .
Permits adaptation of the wheel- brace to the special "security"
bolts.
5. Removable towing eye.
Refer to the paragraph "Towing
the vehicle".
Other accessories
Wheel with trim
When removing the wheel , detach
t h e t r i m fi r s t u s i n g t h e w h e e l b r a c e 1
pulling at the valve passage hole.
W h e n r e fi t t i n g t h e w h e e l , r e fi t t h e
trim starting by placing its notch
facing the valve and press around
its edge with the palm of your
hand.
A l l o f t h e s e t o o l s a r e s p e c i fi c t o y o u r
vehicle. Do not use them for other
purposes.

Access to the spare wheel
(Saloon)
The spare wheel is installed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
To gain access to it, refer to the paragraph
"Access to the tools" on the previous
page. Fitting the steel spare wheel
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a l -
loy wheels, it is normal to notice,
w h e n t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s o n fi t t i n g ,
that the washers do not come into
contact with the steel spare wheel.
The wheel is secured by the coni-
cal contact of each bolt. Taking out the wheel
Unscrew the yellow central bolt.
Raise the spare wheel towards you
from the rear.
Take the wheel out of the boot.
Putting the wheel back in place
Put the wheel back in its housing.
Unscrew the yellow central bolt by a
few turns then put it in place in the
centre of the wheel.
Tighten fully until the central bolt
clicks to retain the wheel correctly.

Access to the spare wheel (SW)
The spare wheel is installed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
To gain access to it, refer to the para-
graph "Access to the tools". Fitting the steel spare wheel

loy wheels, it is normal to notice,
w h e n t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s o n fi t t i n g ,

Changing the sidelamp bulbs
Disconnect the main headlamp con-
nector.
Remove the plastic protective cover
by pulling on the tab.
Turn the bulb holder one quarter of
a turn and remove it.
Pull the bulb and change it.

verse order.
Changing the dipped, main beam or
directional headlamps
Disconnect the main headlamp con-
nector.
Remove the corresponding plastic
protective cover by pulling on the tab.
Disconnect the connector of the cor-
responding lamp.
Move aside the spring to release the
bulb and remove the bulb.
T o r e fi t , c a r r y o u t t h e s e o p e r a t i o n s i n r e -
verse order. Changing the integrated direction
indicator side repeaters
Insert a screwdriver towards the
centre of the repeater between the
repeater and the base of the mirror.
T i l t t h e s c r e w d r i v e r t o e x t r a c t t h e r e -
peater and remove the repeater.
Disconnect the repeater connector.
T o r e fi t , c a r r y o u t t h e s e o p e r a t i o n s i n
reverse order.
To obtain a replacement repeater,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
Changing the foglamp bulbs
For replacement of these bulbs, contact
a PEUGEOT dealer.

Changing the third brake lamp bulbs
(4 bulbs W 5 W)

of the lamp.
Remove the lamp from the outside.
Turn the bulb holder which corre-
sponds to the faulty bulb one quarter
of a turn and remove it.
Pull the bulb and change it. Changing the number plate lamp
bulbs (W 5 W)
Insert a thin screwdriver in one of
t h e e x t e r i o r h o l e s o f t h e l e n s .
Push it towards the outside to unclip it.
Remove the lens.
Pull the bulb and change it.
T o r e fi t , c a r r y o u t t h e s e o p e r a t i o n s i n
reverse order.
High pressure washing
When using this type of washing
on stubborn dirt, do not persist
on the headlamps, the lamps and
their surrounds, to avoid damaging
their protective coating and seals.

TOWING THE VEHICLE
Procedure for having your vehicle towed or for towing another vehicle using a removable towing eye.
Access to the tools Towing your vehicle
On the front bumper, unclip the cover by pressing at the bottom.
Screw the towing eye in fully.
Install the towing bar.
Switch on the hazard warning lamps
on the towed vehicle.
On the rear bumper, unclip the cover by pressing at the bottom.
Screw the towing eye in fully.
Install the towing bar.
Switch on the hazard warning lamps
on the towed vehicle.
Towing another vehicle
The towing eye is stowed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
T o g a i n a c c e s s t o i t :
open the boot,
r a i s e t h e fl o o r ,
secure it by hooking its cord on the hook on the shelf support,
remove the towing eye from the holder.
When towing with all four wheels
on the ground, always use a tow-
ing bar.

TOWING A TRAILER, A
CARAVAN, ETC.
Your vehicle is primarily designed for
transporting people and luggage, but it
may also be used for towing a trailer. Driving advice
T h e m a x i m u m t o w i n g l o a d o n a l o n g
slope depends on the gradient and the
ambient temperature.
In all cases, pay attention to the coolant
temperature.
Distribution of loads
Distribute the load in the trailer so
that the heaviest items are as close
a s p o s s i b l e t o t h e a x l e a n d t h e n o s e
w e i g h t a p p r o a c h e s t h e m a x i m u m
p e r m i t t e d w i t h o u t e x c e e d i n g i t .
Air density decreases with altitude, thus
reducing engine performance. Above
1 0 0 0 m e t r e s , t h e m a x i m u m t o w i n g l o a d
must be reduced by 10 % and so on for
every 1 000 metres of altitude.
Refer to the "Technical Data" section for
details of the weights and towing loads
which apply to your vehicle.
Side wind
Take into account the increased
sensitivity to side wind. Braking
Towing a trailer increases the braking
distance.
Tyres
Check the tyre pressures of the
towing vehicle and of the trailer,
observing the recommended pres-
sures.
Lighting
Check the electrical signalling on
the trailer.
The rear parking assistance will be
deactivated automatically if a gen-
uine PEUGEOT towbar is used.
If the warning lamp and the
STOP warning lamp come
on, stop the vehicle and
switch off the engine as
soon as possible.
Towbar suitable for the attachment of a
trailer or caravan with additional lighting
and signalling.
Cooling
Towing a trailer on a slope increases
the temperature of the coolant.
As the fan is electrically controlled, its
cooling capacity is not dependent on
the engine speed.
To lower the engine speed, reduce
your speed.
We recommend the use of genuine
PEUGEOT towbars and their har-
nesses that have been tested and
approved from the design stage
o f y o u r v e h i c l e , a n d t h a t t h e fi t -
ting of the towbar is entrusted to a
PEUGEOT dealer.
I f t h e t r a i l e r i s n o t fi t t e d b y a
PEUGEOT dealer, it is imperative
t h a t i t i s fi t t e d u s i n g t h e e l e c t r i c a l
pre-equipment installed at the rear
of the vehicle, in accordance with
the manufacturer's instructions. Driving with a trailer subjects the towing
v e h i c l e t o m o r e s i g n i fi c a n t s t r e s s a n d i t s
driver must be particularly careful.
