Diesel additive level (Diesel
engine with particle emission
filter)
A low additive level is indicated by lighting
of the service warning lamp, accompanied
by an audible warning and a message on
the multifunction screen.
Used products
CHECKS
Unless otherwise indicated, check
these components in accordance with
the Maintenance and Warranty Guide
and according to your engine.
Otherwise, have them checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer.
B a t t e r y
The battery does not require any
maintenance.
H o w e v e r , c h e c k t h a t t h e t e r m i n a l s
are clean and correctly tightened,
particularly in summer and winter.
When carrying out work on the battery, re-
fer to the "Practical information" section for
details of the precautions to be taken before
disconnecting the battery and following its
reconnection.
Air filter
Refer to the Maintenance and
Warranty Guide for details of
the replacement intervals for
these components.
Depending on the environment
(e.g. dusty atmosphere) and the use of
the vehicle (e.g. city driving), replace
t h e m t w i c e a s o f t e n i f n e c e s s a r y (refer
to the "Engines" paragraph). Particle emission filter (Diesel)
It is imperative that the maintenance of
t h e p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n fi l t e r i s c a r r i e d o u t
by a PEUGEOT dealer.
Oil filter R e p l a c e t h e o i l fi l t e r e a c h t i m e
the engine oil is changed.
Refer to the Maintenance and
Warranty Guide for details of
the replacement interval for
this component. Following prolonged opera-
tion of the vehicle at very low
speed or at idle, you may, in
exceptional circumstances, notice the
emission of water vapour at the ex-
haust on acceleration. This does not
affect the behaviour of the vehicle or
the environment.
Topping up
This additive must be topped up by a
PEUGEOT dealer without delay.
Dust filter/Anti-odour filter
(activated carbon)
Y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a fi l t e r w h i c h
traps certain dust and limits odours in
the ventilation and air conditioning.
Refer to the servicing booklet for its re-
placement interval.
Do not hesitate to change it if you notice
unpleasant odours, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.
A c l o g g e d p a s s e n g e r c o m p a r t m e n t fi l t e r
may reduce the performance of the air
conditioning system and produce unde-
sirable odours.

Parking the vehicle

Apply the parking brake unless it
has been programmed to automatic

Check that the braking warning light
and the P warning light on the park-
ing brake lever come on.
I f n e c e s s a r y , p l a c e a c h o c k u n d e r t h e
wheel diagonally opposite the wheel
to be changed.
I t i s i m p e r a t i v e t h a t y o u e n s u r e t h a t
the occupants get out of the vehicle
and wait where they are safe.
Never go underneath a vehicle raised
u s i n g a j a c k ; u s e a n a x l e s t a n d .
Removing the wheel
List of operations
R e m o v e t h e c h r o m e d b o l t c o v e r f r o m
each of the bolts using the tool 3 .
Fit the anti-theft socket 5 on the
wheelbrace 1 to unlock the anti-theft
bolt.
Unlock the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 only.
Place the jack 2 in contact with one
of the two front A or rear B locations
p r o v i d e d o n t h e u n d e r f r a m e , w h i c h -
ever is closest to the wheel to be
changed.
E x t e n d t h e j a c k 2 until its base plate
i s i n c o n t a c t w i t h t h e g r o u n d . E n s u r e
that the centreline of the jack base
plate is directly below the location A
or B used.
R a i s e t h e v e h i c l e u n t i l t h e r e i s s u f -
fi c i e n t s p a c e b e t w e e n t h e w h e e l a n d
the ground to admit the spare (not
punctured) wheel easily.

TOWING A TRAILER, A CARAVAN, ETC.
Your vehicle is primarily designed for
t r a n s p o r t i n g p e o p l e a n d l u g g a g e , b u t i t
may also be used for towing a trailer. Driving advice
T h e m a x i m u m t o w i n g l o a d o n a l o n g
slope depends on the gradient and the
ambient temperature.
I n a l l c a s e s , p a y a t t e n t i o n t o t h e c o o l a n t
temperature.
Side wind
Take into account the increased
sensitivity to side wind.
Cooling
Towing a trailer on a slope increases
the temperature of the coolant.
A s t h e f a n i s e l e c t r i c a l l y c o n t r o l l e d , i t s
cooling capacity is not dependent on
the engine speed.
T o l o w e r t h e e n g i n e s p e e d , r e d u c e
your speed. Braking
Towing a trailer increases the braking
distance.
Tyres
Check the tyre pressures of the
t o w i n g v e h i c l e a n d o f t h e t r a i l e r ,
observing the recommended pres-
sures.
Lighting
Check the electrical signalling on
the trailer.
The rear parking assistance
will be deactivated automati-
c a l l y i f a n o r i g i n a l P E U G E O T
towbar is used.

STOP warning lamp come
o n , s t o p t h e v e h i c l e a n d
switch off the engine as
soon as possible.
Towbar suited to the attachment of a

Distribution of loads
Distribute the load in the trailer so
that the heaviest items are as close
a s p o s s i b l e t o t h e a x l e a n d t h e n o s e
w e i g h t a p p r o a c h e s t h e m a x i m u m
p e r m i t t e d w i t h o u t e x c e e d i n g i t .

reducing engine performance. Above

must be reduced by 10 % and so on for
every 1 000 metres of altitude.

Coolant temperature indicator
With the engine running, when the nee-
dle is:
- in zone A , the temperature is correct,
- in zone B , the temperature is too
high; the max temperature warning
lamp 1 and the central STOP warn-
ing lamp come on, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message on
the multifunction screen. After driving for a few minutes, the tem-
perature and pressure in the cooling
system increase.
To top up the level:
wait for the engine to cool,
unscrew the cap by two turns to
allow the pressure to drop,
when the pressure has dropped,
remove the cap,
top up the level to the "MAX" mark.
You MUST stop as soon as it is safe
to do so.
Wait a few minutes before switching off
the engine.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer.
Warning lamp is on Cause Action/Observations
and/or
Particle
emissions fi l t e r
(Diesel)
fi x e d , a s s o c i a t e d
temporarily with lighting of the service warning lamp
and the message "Risk of p a r t i c l e fi l t e r b l o c k i n g " This indicates that the
p a r t i c l e e m i s s i o n s fi l t e r i s
starting to become saturated. As soon as driving conditions allow,
r e g e n e r a t e t h e fi l t e r b y d r i v i n g a t a
speed of at least 35 mph (60 km/h) until
the service warning lamp switches off.

level for the Diesel fuel
additive reservoir.
Have the reservoir topped up as soon as
possible by a PEUGEOT dealer.
