b u m p e r .
A n o b j e c t , s u c h a s a s t a k e , a r o a d -
w o r k s c o n e o r a n y o t h e r s i m i l a r o b -
j e c t m a y b e d e t e c t e d a t t h e b e g i n -
ning of the manoeuvre, but may no
l o n g e r b e d e t e c t e d w h e n t h e v e h i c l e
comes close to it.

gear is engaged, an audible signal
( l o n g b l e e p ) i n d i c a t e s t h a t t h e s e n -
sors may be dirty. T h e p r o x i m i t y i n f o r m a t i o n i s g i v e n
b y :
- a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l , w h i c h b e c o m e s
m o r e r a p i d a s t h e v e h i c l e
a p p r o a c h e s t h e o b s t a c l e ,
- a g r a p h i c o n t h e m u l t i f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y , w i t h b l o c k s w h i c h b e c o m e

D e p e n d i n g o n t h e m u l t i f u n c t i o n d i s -
p l a y , t h e a u d i b l e s i g n a l i s t r a n s m i t t e d
b y a b u z z e r o r b y t h e r e a r s p e a k e r s
w h i c h t r a n s m i t :
- o n t h e r i g h t i f a n o b s t a c l e i s detected on the right,
- o n t h e l e f t i f a n o b s t a c l e i s detected on the left,
- o n t h e r i g h t a n d o n t h e l e f t i f a n obstacle is detected in the centre.
W h e n t h e d i s t a n c e b e t w e e n t h e r e a r
of the vehicle and the obstacle is
l e s s t h a n a p p r o x i m a t e l y t h i r t y c e n t i -
metres, the audible signal becomes
continuous and the "Danger" symbol
a p p e a r s d e p e n d i n g o n t h e m u l t i f u n c -
t i o n d i s p l a y .
Change to neutral, the system is
again inactive.
I f t h e r e i s a n o p e r a t i n g f a u l t ,
w h e n r e v e r s e g e a r i s e n -
g a g e d , t h e s e r v i c e w a r n i n g
l i g h t c o m e s o n , a c c o m p a n i e d
b y a n a u d i b l e s i g n a l ( s h o r t b l e e p )
and a message on the multifunction
d i s p l a y .

Activation/Deactivation
Activation
The system is activated as soon as
reverse gear is engaged.
T h i s i s a c c o m p a n i e d b y a n a u d i b l e s i g -
n a l a n d d i s p l a y i n g o f t h e v e h i c l e , d e -
p e n d i n g o n t h e m u l t i f u n c t i o n d i s p l a y . The system can be activated
o r d e a c t i v a t e d f r o m t h e m u l t i -
function d i s p l a y c o n i g u r a t i o n
menu.

w h e n t h e e n g i n e i s s w i t c h e d o f f .
