FAMILIARISATION
OPEN
Retractable roof The operation of the roof is the
exclusive responsibility of the
driver.
To avoid any risk of injury when
operating the roof, ensure that no
one is standing near the moving
parts.
You are strongly advised not to
operate the roof in strong winds. When washing your vehicle:
- lock the vehicle using the
remote control or the key,
- avoid spraying the upper part of the windows,
- keep the end of the high pre ssure nozzle at least 1 metre from the
windows and door seals.
When the vehicle has been
washed or after rain, wait until the
roof has dried before opening it. It is preferable to operate the roof
with the engine running and the
vehicle stationary.
The roof can be operated at a
speed below 6 mph (10 km/h).
After the roof has been operated
fully four times in succession, the
system switches to prote ction
mode temporarily to avoid dama ge
to the roof motors. Let the system
rest for approximately ten minutes;
if you are unable to ope rate the roof
after this time, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.
Preliminary conditions
Switch on the ignition.
Make absolutely sure that:
- the vehicle is not in energy economy mode (refer to the corresponding
section),
- t h e b a t t e r y v o l t a g e i s s u f fi c i e n t (switching on of the roof control indi-
cator light),
- the roof fuse is in good condition (re- fer to the corresponding section),
- the electric windows are initialised (see corresponding section),
- the exterior temperature is higher than -15 °C.
Precautions to be taken before
operating the roof
Park the vehicle on level ground.
Check that no objects could hinder
the operation of the roof:
- nothing should be placed on the moving rear shelf 1 , on the boot
screen 2 or on the side trims 3 ,
- if luggage is transported in the boot, it must not lift the boot
screen,
- any objects, such as a jacket or umbrella, placed in the boot, must
be secured using the luggage
retaining net 4 .
Check that the boot screen 2 is
s e c u r e d fi r m l y .
Close the boot correctly.

This dimmed lighting of the passenger
compartment facilitates visibility inside
the vehicle when the light is poor.

"AIRWAVE" system
Incorporated in each front head restraint,
this heating system improves your
comfort around the neck in cold weather,
p a r t i c u l a r l y i n t h e " c a b r i o l e t " c o n fi g u r a -
tion. It operates most effe ctively with the
windstop installed in the raised position.

Secure storage compartments
The glove box and the front armrest are
designed to remain locked, even in the
" c a b r i o l e t " c o n fi g u r a t i o n . T h e y c a n o n l y
be locked using the remote control or
the key at the same time as the rest of
the vehicle.

62 For your comfort, the height and the
longitudinal position of the front armrest
can be adjusted.
It also offers a storage compartment. As
a security measure when in the "cabriolet"
c o n fi g u r a t i o n , t h i s i s l o c k e d a t t h e s a m e
time as the rest of the vehicle, using the
remote control or the key only.
As a safety precaution, it is
imperative that these operations
are carried out when stationary.
1. Control for release of the seat back
and automatic forward movement of
the seat.
2. Control for return of the seat to the
initial position.

Engage the shafts of the windstop
frame in the openings in the rear
side trim so that the red indicators
are concealed.
W h e n i n s t a l l i n g t h e w i n d s t o p f o r t h e fi r s t
time:
position a size 10 open-ended spanner
on the hexagonal part of the shaft,
tighten or slacken without forcing on
each side to adjust the depth setting.
Lastly, always check that the wind-
stop is retained securely before use
i n t h e " c a b r i o l e t " c o n fi g u r a t i o n .
Removal
Press and pull on the shaft supports
to release the shafts from the ope-
nings in the rear side trim; the red
indicators then become visible. It is not necessary to remove the
windstop when operating the roof.

Pull the windstop forwards to release
the guides from the points, located
behind each corner of the back of the
rear bench seat.
Fold the windstop frame guides. Storing

Raise the boot carpet and hook its
handle on the boot seal.
Store the folded windstop in the
corresponding recess in the box.
Lower the boot carpet.

Stow the folded windstop securing it
using the luggage retaining net.
Fold the windstop closing the
two large parts on themselves.
Unclip each end individually.
Fold each of the two parts on them-

electrical settings of the driver's seat
and exterior mirrors. It enables you to
store up to two positions using the but-
tons on the side of the driver's seat and
two further driving positions using the
two remote control keys. Recalling a stored position

consecutive position recalls, the
function will be deactivated until
the engine is started, to prevent
discharging of the battery.

ACCESS
The key cannot be removed from
the lock until the cap is put back on
the tank.
FUEL TANK
Capacity of the tank: approximately
60 litres.
T o fi l l t h e t a n k s a f e l y :
it is essential that the engine is
switched off,
o p e n t h e f u e l fi l l e r fl a p ,
insert the key in the cap, then turn it
to the left,
W h e n fi l l i n g i s c o m p l e t e :
put the cap back in place,
turn the key to the right, then remove
it from the cap,
c l o s e t h e fl a p .
remove the cap and secure it on the
hook, located on the inside of the
fl a p ,
fi l l t h e t a n k , b u t do not continue
after the 3rd cut-off of the nozzle ;
this could cause malfunctions.
Low fuel level
Filling
A l a b e l a f fi x e d t o t h e i n s i d e o f t h e fl a p
reminds you of the type of fuel to be
used according to your engine.
Operating fault
A fuel gauge malfunction is indicated
by the return of the fuel level indicator
needle to zero.
Consult a PEUGEOT dealer. When the fuel tank minimum
level is reached, this warning
light comes on on the instru-
ment panel, accompanied by
an audible signal and a message on the
multifunction display.
You have enough fuel left to drive
approximately 30 miles (50 km).
If you run out of fuel, refer to the
"Checks - § Running out of fuel" section
also.

GLOVE BOX WITH LOCK AND AIR CONDITIONING
This has areas for storing a bottle of
water, the vehicle's handbook pack, ...
Its lid has areas for storing a pen, a pair
of spectacles, tokens, cards, a can...
It is also locked or unlocked when the
vehicle is locked or unlocked using the
remote control or the key.
To open the glove box, raise the
handle.
The light comes on when the lid is
opened.
I f t h e v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a i r c o n d i t i o n i n g ,
it provides access to the air vent A , which
can be opened or closed, distributing the
same conditioned air as the vents in the
passenger compartment.
SUN VISOR
Component which protects against
sunlight from the front or the side, also
equipped with an illuminated courtesy
mirror.
With the ignition on, raise the
c o n c e a l i n g fl a p ; t h e m i r r o r i s l i t
automatically.
This sun visor is also equipped with a
ticket holder.
BAG HOOK
Press the lower part of the hook to
unfold it.
Hang the strap of your bag on the
hook to secure it.

Removable component which protects
the carpet against exterior dirt. Refitting

check that the mat is secured cor-
rectly.
Fitting

wallet attached.
Removal
To remove the mat on the driver's side:
move the seat as far back as possible,
u n c l i p t h e fi x i n g s
remove the mat.
12 V ACCESSORIES SOCKET
To connect a 12 V accessory (max
power: 120 Watts), remove the cover
and connect a suitable adaptor.
ASHTRAY WITH LIGHT
Pull the drawer to gain access to the
ashtray.
To empty the ashtray, after opening,
press the tab and remove the ashtray.
