DRIVING
This function cannot, in any circumstances, take the place of the
vigilance and responsibility of the driver.
Certain types of obstacle (stake, roadworks cone, etc.) detected
initially will no longer be detected at the end of the manoeuvre due
to the presence of blind spots.
PARKING SENSORS
This system indicates the proximity of an obstacle (person, vehicle, tree,
gate, etc.) which comes within the fi eld of detection of sensors located
in the bumper.
REAR PARKING SENSORS
The system is switched on by engaging reverse gear. This is
accompanied by an audible signal.
The system is switched off when you exit reverse gear.
Audible assistance
The proximity information is given by an intermittent audible signal, the
frequency of which increases as the vehicle approaches the obstacle.
The sound emitted by the speaker (right or left) indicates the side on
which the obstacle is located.
When the distance between the vehicle and the obstacle becomes
less than approximately thirty centimetres, the audible signal becomes
continuous.

Deactivation/Activation of the front and rear parking sensors
Visual assistance
FRONT PARKING SENSORS
In addition to the rear parking sensors, the front parking sensors are
triggered when an obstacle is detected in front and the speed of the
vehicle is still below 6 mph (10 km/h).
The sound emitted by the speaker (front or rear) indicates whether the
obstacle is in front or behind.
The front parking sensors are interrupted if the vehicle stops for more
than three seconds in forward gear, if no further obstacles are detected
or when the speed of the vehicle exceeds 6 mph (10 km/h).
This supplements the audible signal by displaying bars in the
multifunction screen which move progressively nearer to the vehicle.
When the obstacle is near, the "Danger" symbol is also displayed in the
screen.
The function is deactivated by pressing this button. The indicator lamp
in the button comes on.
Pressing this button again reactivates the function. The indicator lamp in
the button goes off.

DRIVING
Deactivation/Activation of the rear parking sensors
The function is deactivated or activated via the vehicle
confi guration menu.
The status of the function is stored when the ignition is
switched off.
For more information on access to the parking sensors menu,
refer to the section covering the confi guration of vehicle systems.
OPERATING FAULT
In the event of a malfunction of the system, when reverse gear
is engaged this warning lamp is displayed in the instrument
panel and/or a message appears in the screen, accompanied
by an audible signal (short beep).
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifi ed workshop.
In bad weather or in winter, ensure that the sensors are not
covered with mud, ice or snow. When reverse gear is engaged, an
audible signal (long beep) indicates that the sensors may be dirty.
When the vehicle is moving at a speed below 6 mph (10 km/h),
certain sound sources (motorcycle, lorry, pneumatic drill, etc.) may
trigger the audible signals of the parking sensor system.
The function will be deactivated automatically if a trailer is being
towed or a bicycle carrier is fi tted (vehicle fi tted with a towbar or
bicycle carrier recommended by PEUGEOT).

CHECKS
FUEL TANK
Fuel tank capacity: approximately 55 litres.
LOW FUEL LEVEL
FILLING
When the fuel tank minimum level is reached this warning
lamp comes on on the instrument panel, accompanied by an
audible signal and an alert message. When it fi rst comes on
there remains approximately 5 litres
of fuel in the tank.
Until suffi cient fuel is added, this warning lamp appears every time
the ignition is switched on, accompanied by an audible signal and a
message. When driving, this audible signal and display of the alert
message are repeated with increasing frequency as the fuel level drops
towards "0"
.
Refuel as soon as possible to avoid running out of fuel.
If you run out of fuel (Diesel), refer also to the "Running out of fuel
(Diesel)" section.
A label affi xed to the inside of the fl ap reminds you of the type of fuel to
be used depending on your engine.
Additions of fuel must be of at least 5 litres, in order to be taken into
account by the fuel gauge. To fi ll the tank in complete safety:
)
the engine must be switched off,
)
press the rear part of the fl ap, then raise it to open it,
)
turn the cap to the left,
)
remove the cap and hook it onto the clip located on the inside of the
fl ap,
)
fi ll the tank, but do not continue after the 3rd cut-off of the
pump
; this could cause malfunctions. Opening the fi ller cap may create a noise a caused by an inrush
of air. This vacuum is entirely normal, resulting from the sealing of
the fuel system.

QUALITY OF THE FUEL USED FOR PETROL
ENGINES
The petrol engines are perfectly compatible with E10 type petrol
biofuels (containing 10 % ethanol), conforming to European standards
EN 228 and EN 15376.
E85 type fuels (containing up to 85 % ethanol) are reserved exclusively
for vehicles marketed for the use of this type of fuel (BioFlex vehicles).
The quality of the ethanol must comply with European standard
EN 15293.
For Brazil only, special vehicles are marketed to run on fuels containing
up to 100 % ethanol (E100 type).
QUALITY OF THE FUEL USED FOR DIESEL
ENGINES
The Diesel engines are perfectly compatible with biofuels which
conform to current and future European standards (Diesel fuel which
complies with standard EN 590 mixed with a biofuel which complies
with standard EN 14214) available at the pumps (containing up to 7 %
Fatty Acid Methyl Ester).
The B30 biofuel can be used in certain Diesel engines; however, this
use is subject to strict application of the special servicing conditions.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifi ed workshop.
The use of any other type of (bio)fuel (vegetable or animal oils, pure
or diluted, domestic fuel...) is strictly prohibited (risk of damage to the
engine and fuel system).
When you have fi lled the tank:

put the cap back in place,
)
turn it to the right,
)
close the fl ap.
Freezing conditions
In these conditions, the fi ller fl ap may be jammed.
Opening the boot gives access to the fl ap, allowing it to be
released by hand.

BONNET
OPENING

Open the front left door.

Pull the interior release lever A
, located at the bottom of the door
aperture.
CLOSING

Lower the bonnet and release it at the end of its travel.
)
Pull on the bonnet to check that it is fully latched.
)
Push the exterior safety catch B
to the left and raise the bonnet.
The bonnet is held open by the two side struts.
The location of the interior release lever prevents opening of the
bonnet while the front left door is closed.
When the engine is hot, handle the safety catch with care
(risk of burns).

The various caps and covers allow access for checking the levels of the various fl uids, for replacing certain components and for priming the fuel system.

2 LITRE HDI ENGINE

Fill the fuel tank with at least fi ve litres of Diesel.
)
Open the bonnet.
)
Unclip the style cover for access to the priming pump.
)
Slacken the bleed screw.
)
Squeeze and release the priming pump repeatedly until fuel
appears in the transparent pipe with the green connector.
)
Retighten the bleed screw.
)
Operate the starter until the engine starts.
)
Put the style cover back in position and clip it in place.
)
Close the bonnet.
RUNNING OUT OF FUEL (DIESEL)
If the engine does not start fi rst time, don't keep trying.
Operate the priming pump again, then the starter motor. On vehicle fi tted with HDi engines, the fuel system must be primed if
you run out of fuel; refer to the engine compartment view on the "Diesel
engine" page.
