FRONT SEATS
We would advise you not to recline the seatbacks too far to ensure that
the effectiveness of the seat belts is not reduced.
Make sure that the seatback is locked in place correctly.
Nothing should be placed on the floor (area in front of driver) as such objects may
slide under the pedal during braking manoeuvres, thus obstructing its us\
e.

SEAT BELTS (1/4)

2
Always wear your seat belt when trav-
elling in your vehicle. You must also
comply with the legislation of the par-
ticular country you are in.
Before starting, first adjust your driv-
ing position, then ask all occupants
to adjust their seat belt to ensure op-
timum protection.
I n c o r r e c t l y a d j u s t e d o r
twisted seat belts may
cause injuries in the event
of an accident.
Use one seat belt per person,
whether child or adult.
Even pregnant women should wear
a seat belt. In this case, ensure that
the lap belt is not exerting too much
pressure on the abdomen, but do
not allow any slack.
Adjusting your driving
position
(certain adjustments depend on the ve-
hicle’s equipment level)
– Sit well back in your seat (having
first removed your coat or jacket).
This is essential to ensure your back
is positioned correctly;
–
adjust the distance between the
seat and the pedals. Your seat
should be as far back as possible
while still allowing you to depress
the clutch pedal fully. The seatback
should be adjusted so that your arms
are slightly bent when you hold the
steering wheel;
–
adjust the position of your head -
rest. For the maximum safety, your
head must be as close as possible to
the headrest;
–
adjust the height of the seat. This
adjustment allows you to select the
seat position which offers you the
best possible view;
– adjust the position of the steering
wheel.
Adjusting the seat belts
Sit with your back firmly against the
seatback.
Shoulder
strap 1 should be as close as
possible to the base of the neck but not
on it.
Lap
belt 2 should be worn flat over the
thighs and against the pelvis.
The belt should be worn so that it is
as close as possible to your body, i.e.:
avoid wearing heavy clothing or keep-
ing bulky objects under the belts, etc.

Adjusting the lap belt
– To tighten, pull on free section 12 of
the belt.
–
To slacken, turn adjusting buckle 11
so it is at 90 degrees to the belt and
press the buckle while pulling lap
belt
10.
Rear side seat belts
The belts are locked, unlocked and
adjusted in the same way as the front
belts.
Make sure that the rear bench seat
is locked in position correctly so that
the rear seat belts will operate effi-
ciently.
Refer to the information on the “Rear
bench seat: functions” in Section 3.
It is forbidden to carry a
passenger or fit a child seat
in the rear centre seat if it is
not fitted with a seat belt.

Rear bench seat
We would advise you to move the front
seats forward slightly to make it easier
to fold the seatback with the headrests
in position.
Make sure the headrests are in the cor-
rect position when the seat is returned
to its upright position.
For the split bench seat and seatback,
place the headrests in the storage po-
sition, then fold back the smaller sec-
tion of the seatback first followed by the
larger section.
Lift the bench seat base forwards by
p
ulling the two rings 2 , one after the
other.
Fold the seat base and the seatback
into a vertical position.
t o fold down the bench seat
Move one of the two levers 1 on the
right or left-hand side of the bench seat
forwards.
For a single section bench seat and
seatback, arrange the central belt
flat on the seat base before folding the
seatback.

For safety reasons, carry
out any adjustments when
the vehicle is not being
driven.
When moving the bench
seat, ensure that the seat
belt catches are correctly
locked in position.
When the bench seat has been put
back in place, make sure that it is
correctly locked and the seat belts
are correctly repositioned.
When moving the rear bench
seat, make sure the bench
seat anchorage points are
clean (they should be free
from grit, cloths etc.).
When refitting the seatback,
make sure it is correctly
locked.
If using seat covers, make
sure they do not prevent the seat-
back and seat base latches from
locking in. Ensure that the seat belts
and seat belt fasteners are correctly
positioned.
Reposition the headrests.

To maintain the rear bench seat in the
r
aised position, attach retainer 4 to
rod
3 of the passenger headrest.
t ransporting bulky objects
The small section may be folded down
completely and yet still leave space to
accommodate a maximum of two pas-
sengers on the large section.
Conversely, you can use the small sec-
tion to accommodate one passenger
providing that only the seatback of the
large section is folded down. The seat
belts are only guaranteed to operate
correctly when the seat base is latched
in position.
