6 INSPECT REAR DOOR W/MOTOR LOCK ASSY LH
(a) Rear Door w/ Motor Lock Assy LH:
Inspect operation of the double lock motor.
(1) Apply battery voltage and set the door lock motor to
set.
(2) Apply battery voltage to the double lock motor and
inspect operation.
Standard:
Measurement ConditionSpecified Condition
Battery positive (+)
Terminal 4
Battery negative (±)
Terminal 3Double locking system is Set
Battery positive (+)
Terminal 3
Battery negative (±)
Terminal 4Double locking system is Unset
(3) Check that the doors cannot be unlocked by operat-
ing the control cable while the double locking sys-
tem is set.
(4) Inspect the resistance of the double lock position
switch.

7 CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR LOCK ± INSTRUMENT PANEL J/B ASSY (IN-
TEGRATION RELAY))
(a) Disconnect the D14, D21, D16 or D19 door lock and the
I14 and DJ J/B connectors.
(b) Check the resistance between the wire harness side con-
nectors.
Standard (Check for open):

KEY LOCK±IN PREVENTION FUNCTION DOES NOT WORK
PROPERLY (MANUAL OPERATION AND OPERATION
INTERLOCKED WITH KEY ARE ACTIVE)
CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The unlock warning switch turns ON when the key is inserted into the ignition key cylinder. The courtesy
lamp switch turns ON when the driver side door is opened. These 2 switches are monitored by the integration
relay. In order to prevent the key from being locked in, the integration relay controls door locking operation
according to the conditions of these switches so that the doors are not locked with the key locked in.

1 READ VALUE OF HAND±HELD TESTER
(a) Using the hand±held tester, check that the unlock warning switch signal is output when the switch is
operated.

(b) Check the continuity between the wire harness connec-
tors.

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
When the integration relay receives a lock/unlock signal for the doors from the master switch and the driver
side door key cylinder, the integration relay drives each door lock.
