Perform the operations of each function within 10 seconds.
To set that all doors are locked when the vehicle speed is approxi-
mately 20 km/h (12 mph) or higher
Vehicles with smart entry & start system: Close all doors and
turn the “ENGINE START STOP” switch to IGNITION ON
mode.
Vehicles without smart entry & start system: Close all doors
and turn the engine switch to “ON” position.
Shift the shift lever to “N”.
Press and hold the door lock
switch for about 5 seconds.
Release the switch.
When the setting is complete, all doors are locked and then unlocked.
To cancel this function, use the same procedure as above ( to
).

Customization can also be done by “touch screen”.

Impact detection door lock release system
In the event that the vehicle is subject to a strong impact, all the doors are
unlocked. Depending on the force of the impact or the type of accident, how-
ever, the system may not operate.
CAUTION
To prevent an accident
Observe the following precautions while driving the vehicle.
Failing to do so may result in a door opening and an occupant falling out,
resulting in death or serious injury.
Always use a seat belt.
Ensure that all doors are properly closed.
Do not pull the inside handle of the doors while driving.
The doors may be opened and the passengers are thrown out of the vehi-
cle and it may result in death or serious injury.
Be especially careful for the front doors, as the doors may be opened even
if the inside lock buttons are in locked position.
Set the rear door child-protector locks when children are seated in the rear
seat.

Trunk (sedan)
The trunk can be opened using the trunk opener.
Press the opener switch.
The trunk can be locked and unlocked using the smart entry & start
system, wireless remote control or door lock switch.

Trunk light
The trunk light turns on when the trunk is opened.
Trunk handle
If the trunk opener is inoperative or the battery is discharged
The trunk can opened from the inside. (P. 700)
CAUTION
While driving
Keep the trunk lid closed while driving.
If the trunk lid is left open, it may hit near-by objects while driving or lug-
gage in the trunk may be unexpectedly thrown out, causing an accident.
In addition, exhaust gases may enter the vehicle, causing death or a seri-
ous health hazard. Make sure to close the trunk lid before driving.
Before driving the vehicle, make sure that the trunk lid is fully closed. If the
trunk lid is not fully closed, it may open unexpectedly while driving, caus-
ing an accident.
Never let anyone sit in the trunk. In the event of sudden braking, sudden
swerving or a collision, they are susceptible to death or serious injury.
Use the trunk handle when closing the
trunk.
Be careful not to pull the trunk lid side-
ways when closing the trunk with the han-
dle.

CAUTION
When children are in the vehicle
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may result in death or serious injury.
Do not allow children to enter the trunk.
If a child is accidentally locked in the trunk, they could have heat exhaus-
tion or suffocate.
Do not allow a child to open or close the trunk lid.
Doing so may cause the trunk lid operate unexpectedly, or cause the
child’s hands, head, or neck to be caught by the closing trunk lid.
Using the trunk
Observe the following precautions.
Failure to do so may cause parts of the body to be caught, resulting in seri-
ous injury.
Remove any heavy loads, such as snow and ice, from the trunk lid before
opening it. Failure to do so may cause the trunk lid to fall closed again
after it is opened.
When opening or closing the trunk lid, thoroughly check to make sure the
surrounding area is safe.
If anyone is in the vicinity, make sure they are safe and let them know that
the trunk is about to open or close.
Use caution when opening or closing the trunk lid in windy weather as it
may move abruptly in strong wind.
