A system that provides power
to the traction battery and aux-
iliary systems by performing
solar charging via the large
solar panel (solar roof)
equipped on the vehicle roof.
Even when a parking lot does not
have charging equipment and in
the event of a disaster, it is possi-
ble to charge* the traction battery
without any special operations as
long as sunlight is available.
*: The charging amount via the solar
charging system differs depending
on conditions, such as season and
weather.

●In the following cases, the solar charging system stops solar power generation and power supply to the
traction battery and auxiliary systems. • The hood is opened• AC or DC charging has started

WARNING
■Items that should not be left in the vehicle
Do not leave glasses, lighters or
spray cans in the storage spaces, as this may cause the following when cabin temperature becomes high:
●Glasses may be deformed by heat or cracked if they come into contact
with other stored items.
●Lighters or spray cans may
explode. If they come into contact with other stored items, the lighter may catch fire or the spray can may
release gas, causing a fire hazard.

●When storing a bottle, close the cap.
●The bottle may not be stored depend-
ing on its size or shape.
Flip down the visor.
Press the lid to open the auxiliary
box.

■Items unsuitable for the cup holders

holders in the event of an accident or sudden braking, causing injury. If pos-sible, cover hot drinks to prevent

Maintenance and care
1Pull the hood lock release lever.
The hood will pop up slightly.
2Pull up the auxiliary catch lever
to the left and lift the hood.
3 Hold the hood open by inserting
the supporting rod into the slot.Hood
Opening the hood
WARNING
■Pre-driving check
Check that the hood is fully closed
and locked. If the hood is not locked properly, it may open while the vehicle is in
motion and cause an accident, which may result in death or serious injury.
■After installing the support rod into the slot
Make sure the rod is properly inserted
into the slot to prevent the hood from shutting on your head or body.
■When closing the hood
When closing the hood, take extra care to prevent your fingers etc., from
being caught.
