Power back door reservation lo ck (vehicles with a power back do or)
If the wireless remote control is used to lock the doors while the power back
door is closing with all side doors fully closed, a buzzer will sound and the
emergency flashers will flash to indicate that the reservation lock is activated.
At this time the side doors are locked. The back door will be l ocked when it is
fully closed.
■ Alarm (if equipped)
Locking the doors will set the alarm system. ( P. 99)
■ If the smart key system or the wireless remote control does not operate
properly
Use the mechanical key to lock and unlock the doors. ( P. 622)
Replace the key battery with a new one if it is depleted. ( P. 539)

Close the door.
The door cannot be locked if the p ower switch is in ACCESSORY or
ON mode, or the electronic key is left inside the vehicle.
The key may not be detected correctly and the door may be locke d.

■Switching the door unlock function
It is possible to set which doors the entry function unlocks using the wireless
remote control.
Turn the power switch off.
When the indicator light on the key surface is not on, press and hold , or for approximately 5 seconds while pressing and holding
.
The setting changes each time an operation is performed, as sho wn below.
(When changing the setting continuously, release the buttons, w ait for at least
5 seconds, and repeat step .)
For vehicles with an alarm: To prevent unintended triggering of the alarm,
unlock the doors using the wireless remote control and open and close a door
once after the settings have been changed. (If a door is not op ened within 60
seconds after is pressed, the doors will be locked again and t he alarm
will automatically be set.)
In case that the alarm is triggered, immediately stop the alarm . ( P. 1 0 0 )

Impact detection door lock release system
In the event that the vehicle is subject to a strong impact, all the doors are
unlocked. Depending on the force of the impact or the type of a ccident, how-
ever, the system may not operate.
■ Using the mechanical key
The doors can also be locked and unlocked with the mechanical k ey.

WARNING
■To prevent an accident
Observe the following precautions while driving the vehicle.
Failure to do so may result in a door opening and an occupant f alling out of
the vehicle, resulting in death or serious injury.
● Ensure that all doors are properly closed and locked.
● Do not pull the inside handle of the doors while driving.
Be especially careful for the front doors, as the doors may be opened even
if the inside lock buttons are in locked position.
● Set the rear door child-protector locks when children are seate d in the rear
seats.

Battery-saving function
The battery-saving function will be activated in order to preve nt the electronic
key battery and the 12-volt battery from being discharged while the vehicle is
not in operation for a long time.
● In the following situations, the smart key system may take some time to
unlock the doors.
• The electronic key has been left in an area of approximately 6 ft. (2 m) of
the outside of the vehicle for 10 minutes or longer.
• The smart key system has not been used for 5 days or longer.
● If the smart key system has not been used for 14 days or longer , the doors
cannot be unlocked at any doors except the driver’s door. In th is case, take
hold of the driver’s door handle, or use the wireless remote co ntrol or the
mechanical key, to unlock the doors.
■ Electronic key battery-saving function
When battery-saving mode is set, battery depletion is minimized by stopping
the electronic key from receiving radio waves.
Press twice while pressing and
holding . Confirm that the electronic
key indicator flashes 4 times.
While the battery-saving mode is set, the
smart key system cannot be used. To
cancel the function, press any of the elec-
tronic key buttons.

Recall procedure
Check that the shift lever is in P.
Turn the power switch to ON mode.
Press one of the buttons for
the driving position you want
to recall until the buzzer
sounds.
■To stop the position recall operation part-way through
Perform any of the following:
●Press the “SET” button.
● Press button “1” or “2”.
● Operate any of the seat adjustment switches (only cancels seat position
recall).
■ Seat positions that can be memorized ( P. 160)
The seat position, with the exception of the portions adjusted by the seat
cushion length switch and lumbar support switch, can be recorde d.
■ Operating the driving position m emory after turning the power switch off
Recorded seat positions can be activated up to 180 seconds after the driver’s
door is opened and another 60 seconds after it is closed again.
■ In order to correctly use the dr iving position memory function
If a seat position is already in the furthest possible position and the seat is
operated in the same direction, the recorded position may be sl ightly different
when it is recalled.

Turn the “TUNE
·SCROLL” knob
to move the cursor box to select a
desired item from the list, and
press the “TUNE
·SCROLL” knob
to play it. The track that is being
played is highlighted.
To return to the top screen, se lect “Now Playing” on the list s creen.
List screen operation
When a list screen is displayed, use the appropriate buttons to

Installing the luggage cover
Fold down the third seats. ( P. 166)
To take out the luggage
cover unit, lift and remove
the center deck board and
side deck board. ( P. 4 6 3 )
Press the lock release but-
tons to extend the ends of
the luggage cover unit.
To install the luggage cover
unit, with the lock release
buttons facing upward, insert
one end into the recess, then
compress the other end and
insert it into the other recess.
Pull out the luggage cover
and hook it ont o the anchors.

Removing the luggage cover
Release the cover from the
left and right anchors and
allow it to react.
Compress the end of the lug-
gage cover and lift up the
luggage cover up.
■Stowing the luggage cover
Open the center deck board and the side deck board. (P. 4 6 3 )
To store the luggage cover
unit, compress both ends
until they lock.
Store the unit with the lock
release buttons facing up and
the cover portion facing the rear
of the vehicle.
