■ If the PCS warning light flashes or illuminates, and a warning message is
displayed on the multi-information display
The pre-collision system may be tem porarily unavailable or there may be a
malfunction in the system.
● In the following situations, the warning light will turn off, the message will
disappear and the system will becom e operational when normal operating
conditions return:
• When the area around the front sensor is hot, such as in the sun
• When the windshield is fogged up or covered with condensation or ice
( P. 340, 350)
• When the front sensor or the area ar ound either sensor is cold, such as
in an extremely cold environment
• If the area in front of the front sensor is obstructed, such as when the
hood is open
● If the PCS warning light continues to flash or illuminate, or the warning
message does not disappear, the system may be malfunctioning. Have the
vehicle inspected by any authorized Toyota dealer or repairer, or another
duly qualified and equipped professional immediately.
■ If VSC is disabled
● If TRC and VSC+ are disabled (P. 318), the pre-collision brake assist
and pre-collision braking functions are also disabled. However, the pre-col-
lision warning function will still operate.
● The PCS warning light illuminates and “VSC TURNED OFF PRE-COLLI-
SION BRAKE SYSTEM UNAVAILABLE” is displayed on the multi-informa-
tion display. ( P. 5 5 1 )

WARNING
■ Replacing light bulbs
● Turn off the lights. Do not attempt to replace the bulb immediately after
turning off the lights.
The bulbs become very hot and may cause burns.
● Do not touch the glass portion of the light bulb with bare hands.
When it is unavoidable to hold the gl ass portion, use and hold with a clean
dry cloth to avoid getting moisture and oils on the bulb.
Also, if the bulb is scratched or dropped, it may blow out or crack.
● Fully install light bulbs and any parts used to secure them. Failing to do so
may result in heat damage, fire, or water entering the headlight unit. This
may damage the headlights or cause condensation to build up on the lens.
● Vehicles with discharge headlights:
While the headlights are turned on, and
for a short time after they have been
turned off, metal components at the
rear of the headlight assembly will be
extremely hot. To prevent burns, do not
touch these metal components until you
are certain they have cooled down.

sation, ice, stickers, etc.

• Wait for a while until the
area around the front sen-
sor has cooled down suffi-
ciently.
When the warning light is
illuminated:
Either the VSC (Vehicle Sta-
bility Control) system or
PCS (Pre-Collision System)
is disabled or both are dis-
abled.
To enable the PCS, enable
both the VSC system and
PCS. ( P. 272, 318)

If a large amount of coolant leaks,
immediately contact any autho-
rized Toyota dealer or repairer, or
another duly qualified and
equipped professional.
The coolant level is satisfactory if
it is between the “FULL” and
“LOW” lines on the reservoir.

Add coolant if necessary.
Water can be used in an emer-
gency if coolant is unavailable.
Start the engine and turn the air conditioning system on to
check that the radiator cooling fan operates and to check for
coolant leaks from the radiator or hoses.
The fan operates when the air conditioning system is turned on
immediately after a cold start. Confirm that the fan is operating by
checking the fan sound and air flow. If it is difficult to check these,
turn the air conditioning system on and off repeatedly.
(The fan may not operate in freezing temperatures.)

Customizable Features
Vehicles with Navigation/Multimedia system: Settings that can be
changed using the Navigation/Multimedia system
When customizing vehicle features, ensure that the vehicle is
parked in a safe place with the shift lever in “P” (Multidrive) or “N”
(manual transmission) and the parking brake set.
Press the “SETUP” button on the navigation system or multimedia
system.
Select “Vehicle” on the “Setup” screen and select “Vehicle
customisation”, or select “General” on the “Setup” screen.
Various setting can be changed. Refer to the list of settings that
can be changed for details.
