Remote key
The remote key is used to lock and unlock doors, the trunk lid and the fuel filler door.The remote key must be in the vehicle inorder to start the engine.
Remote key 3
and button-less key (Key Tag) *.
The remote key is not physically used to start the ignition because the vehicle is standard-equipped with keyless start (Passive Start).The key only needs to be in the front section ofthe passenger compartment. For vehicles equipped with keyless locking and unlocking (Passive Entry) *, the engine can
be started with the key anywhere in the vehi- cle. A smaller, lighter and button-less key (KeyTag) is also provided. The remote keys can be linked to differentdriver profiles to store personal settings in thevehicle.
Remote key buttons
The remote key has four buttons, one on the left side and three on the right.

Locking - Press once to lock the doors,
trunk lid and fuel filler door and arm the alarm. Press and hold to close all windows.
Unlocking - Press once to unlock the
doors, trunk lid and fuel filler door and dis- arm the alarm. Press and hold to open all windows at the same time. This total airing function canbe used to e.g. quickly air out the vehiclein hot weather.
Trunk lid - Press to unlock and disarm
the trunk lid only. On vehicles equipped with the power trunk release *, press and
hold to automatically open the tailgate. Press and hold to close an open trunk lid(an audible warning signal will be given).On vehicles not equipped with the powertrunk release, pressing and holding willopen the trunk lid mechanically due to thepreloaded springs.
Panic alarm - Used to attract attention in
emergency situations. Press and hold the button for at least 3 seconds or presstwice within 3 seconds to activate theturn signals and horn. To deactivate, waitat least 5 seconds and press the buttonagain. If no action is taken, the panic alarmwill deactivate automatically after 3minutes.
WARNING
If anyone is left in the vehicle, make sure that power to the power windows and pan-oramic roof is cut off by always taking theremote key with you when you leave thevehicle.

Locking and unlocking using the remote key
All doors, trunk lid and fuel filler door can be locked and unlocked simultaneously usingthe buttons on the remote key.
Locking with remote key

–Press the button on the remote key to
lock the vehicle.
To activate the locking sequence, the driver's door must be closed 5
. If any of the other doors
or the trunk lid are open, they will be locked and the alarm will be armed once they areclosed.
NOTE
Be aware of the risk of locking the remote key in the vehicle. If the remote key or key tag is left in the vehicle, it will be deactivated whenthe vehicle is locked and the alarm setusing another valid key. The key will bereactivated when the vehicle isunlocked.
If the remote key or Red Key is left inthe vehicle, it will be deactivated evenif the vehicle is locked using Volvo OnCall, and will be reactivated when thevehicle is unlocked using Volvo On Callor another valid key.
Locking when the trunk lid is open
NOTE
If the vehicle is locked and the trunk lid is still open, make sure that the remote key isnot left in the trunk when the trunk lid is closed and the entire vehicle is locked 6

Unlocking with remote key
–Press the button on the remote key to
unlock the vehicle.

Individuals with an implanted pacemaker should not allow the pacemaker to comecloser than 22 cm (9 in.) to the Keylesssystem antennas. The aim of this is to pre-vent disturbances between the pacemakerand the Keyless system.

vated up to 2 minutes after the ignition isturned off if no door has been opened.

Rear child lock
Activated will be shown in the instru-
ment panel and the indicator light will illuminate to show that the child safetylocks are activated.
When the electric child safety locks are acti-vated
the rear windows can only be openedusing the driver's door control panel
the rear doors cannot be opened from theinside.
The buttons on the right-side rear door willalso be deactivated. To deactivate the child safety locks:

Cruise control
Cruise Control (CC 10
) can help the driver
maintain an even speed to provide a more relaxing driving experience on highways andlong, straight roads with even traffic flows.

NOTE

), it is possible to switch
between Cruise Control and Adaptive Cruise Control.
WARNING
The function is supplementary driver support intended to facilitate drivingand help make it safer – it cannot han-dle all situations in all traffic, weatherand road conditions.
The driver is advised to read all sec-tions in the Owner's Manual about thisfunction to learn of its limitations,which the driver must be aware ofbefore using the function.
Driver support functions are not a sub-stitute for the driver's attention andjudgment. The driver is always respon-sible for ensuring the vehicle is drivenin a safe manner, at the appropriatespeed, with an appropriate distance toother vehicles, and in accordance withcurrent traffic rules and regulations.
Using engine braking instead of applying the brakes
Cruise Control regulates speed by lightly applying the brakes. On downgrades, it cansometimes be desirable to roll a bit faster andlet speed be reduced instead by engine brak-ing alone. The driver can temporarily disen-gage the Cruise Control braking function.

Cruise control standby mode Cruise control (CC 14
) can be deactivated and
put in standby mode. This may happen auto- matically or be due to driver intervention.
Standby mode means that the function is selected in the instrument panel but not acti-vated. In standby mode, cruise control will notregulate speed.

Cruise control will be deactivated and put instandby mode if any of the following occurs:
The brakes are applied.
The gear selector is moved to
N.
The vehicle is driven faster than the setspeed for more than 1 minute.
The driver must then control the vehicle'sspeed. Temporarily increasing speed using the accel- erator pedal, e.g. when passing another vehi-cle, will not affect the setting. The vehicle willreturn to the set speed when the acceleratorpedal is released.

steering wheel keypad and scroll to the Adaptive Cruise Control symbol

2. When Speed Limiter is selected, press
(1) on the steering wheel keypad to
activate.
> White symbol – Speed Limiter starts and the current speed is stored as the maximum speed.
Reactivating Adaptive Cruise Control to the last stored speed
–When Adaptive Cruise Control is selected, press
on the steering wheel keypad to
activate.
> The Cruise Control marking in the instrument panel will change from GRAY to WHITE and the vehicle willthen return to the most recently setspeed.
WARNING
A noticeable increase in speed may follow when the speed is resumed with the
steering wheel button.
Additional markings in the instrument panel
ACC will only regulate the time interval to the vehicleahead when the distancesymbol shows two vehicles.
A speed interval will be marked at the same time. The higher speed is the stored speed for your vehicleand the lower speed is thespeed of the vehicle ahead
(target vehicle).
