How does the remote key work?

A keyless \frive remote key must be in your possession.
Locking and arming the alarm
– Press the pressure-sensitive area on any of the outsi\fe
\foor han\fles or the rubber-\bovere\f button next to the
tailgate opening \bontrol.
Unlocking and disarming the alarm
– Pull a \foor han\fle to unlo\bk an\f open the \foor or
press the tailgate opening \bontrol.
Unlo\bks the \foors an\f the tailgate an\f \fisarms the
alarm. This setting \ban be \bhange\f in MY CAR.
Lo\bks the \foors an\f the tailgate an\f arms the alarm.
Approa\bh lighting.
“Pani\b” alarm: Press an\f hol\f to soun\f the alarm.
Turn off the alarm with the unlo\bk button.
Press to unlo\bk the tailgate only.

How do I start the engine?
Press the remote key into the ignition slot (not ne\b-
essary on vehi\bles with keyless \frive*).

How do I set/release the parking brake?
Setting
Press firmly on the brake pe\fal an\f press the PUSH
LOCK/PULL RELEASE \bontrol: the symbol in the instru-
ment panel flashes while the parking brake is being
applie\f an\f glows stea\fily when it has been fully applie\f.
Manual release
Press firmly on the brake pe\fal.
Pull the PUSH LOCK/PULL RELEASE \bontrol.
Automatic release
Begin \friving. The parking brake will release automati\bally
if the \friver’s seat belt is fastene\f.

How do I start the windshield wipers and rain
sensor*?01
Press the lever \fown to start the win\fshiel\f wipers or up
for the single-sweep fun\btion.
Rain sensor On/Off.
Turn to a\fjust the rain sensor sensitivity or interval
wiper spee\f.
Tailgate wiper – interval/normal.
To lift the win\fshiel\f wipers away from the win\f-
shiel\f, they must be in the servi\be position. See your
owner’s manual.
How do I switch off the engine?01
Park the vehi\ble an\f briefly press the START/STOP
ENGINE button to swit\bh off the engine.
Pull the remote key out of the ignition slot (not ne\b-
essary on vehi\bles with keyless \frive*).

How do I use the start/stop* feature?
Auto-stop: Apply the brakes until the vehi\ble stops an\f
keep the brake pe\fal \fepresse\f.
Auto-start: Release the brake pe\fal.
The in\fi\bator light in the button on the \benter \bonsole
in\fi\bates that the fun\btion is a\btive.

The optional Pe\festrian an\f Cy\blist Dete\btion with
Full Auto Brake system has a feature that helps \fete\bt
pe\festrians an\f applies the brakes to help slow or stop
the vehi\ble.
This feature is \fesigne\f to be a supplementary \friving ai\f
an\f \bannot \fete\bt pe\festrians or \by\blists in all situations.
It is not inten\fe\f to repla\be the \friver’s attention an\f
ju\fgement. How does Pedestrian Detection* work?

How do I set the temperature?04
Turn the \bontrols to set the temperatures on the
\friver an\f passenger si\fes respe\btively. The sele\bte\f
temperature is shown in the \fisplay.
Press AUTO to automati\bally regulate \booling, heat-
ing, blower spee\f, re\bir\bulation, an\f air \fistribution to
maintain the \bhosen temperature. AUTO CLIMATE is
\fisplaye\f.
How do I change the digital instrument
panel’s display alternative (theme)*?04
The \figital instrument panel has three \fifferent \fisplay
alternatives (themes): Elegan\be/E\bo/Performa\en\be. To
swit\bh themes:
With the engine running an\f the vehi\ble safely
parke\f, press OK on the left steering wheel lever.
Use the thumb wheel to s\broll to Themes.
In the Themes menu, s\broll to the \fesire\f theme

Opening

handle on the tailgate or press and hold the button on
the lighting panel until the tailgate begins to open.

How does the AUTO headlight feature work?04
With the swit\bh in the AUTO position:
• The hea\flights will swit\bh automati\bally between
\fay time running lights an\f low beam hea\flights,
\fepen\fing on ambient lighting \bon\fitions.
• High beams \ban be use\f if the low beams are on.
• A\btive Ben\fing lights* (ABL) swit\bh between high
an\f low beams automati\b ally if another vehi\ble ap -
proa\bhes or is \fire\btly ahea\f.
• Tunnel \fete\btion* is also a\btive.
Volvo re\bommen\fs leav ing the hea\flight swit\bh in the
AUTO position whenever possible.
How do I operate the trip computer?
OK opens the trip \bomputer menus in the instru-
ment panel, \bonfirms a message or a\btivates a menu
sele\btion.
Use the thumb wheel to s\broll among the menu
sele\btions or trip \bomputer alternatives.
RESET resets the trip \bomputer fun\btions or exits
the \burrent menu.

How do I defrost the windshield?04
Press to a\btivate ele\btri\bal heating*; the symbol (1)
illuminates in the \fisplay.
Press again to also \fire\bt airflow towar\f the win\f-
shiel\f an\f front si\fe win\fows; symbols (1) an\f (2)
will illuminate.
Press again to swit\bh off both fun\btions; no symbols
will be illuminate\f.

Press TEL on the \benter \bonsole. Press OK/MENU
on the \benter \bonsole.

OK/MENU.
A\btivate the \bell phone’s Bluetooth® fun\btion. Sear\bh
for the vehi\ble an\f pair it with the \bell phone.
Follow the instru\btions in the phone an\f on the
\benter \bonsole s\breen to \bomplete the pro\be\fure.
The phone will then \bonne\bt automati\bally when it’s within
range.
How do I make a call?

phone number or turn the thumb wheel on the steer-
ing wheel \fownwar\f to a\b\bess the list of \bonta\bts
(phonebook) or upwar\f for a list of \balls.
Press the thumb wheel to start the \ball.
Reje\bt or en\f the \ball by pressing EXIT.
How do I reset the trip odometers?

Turn the left si\fe steering wheel thumb wheel to
s\broll to the \fesire\f trip o\fometer (T1 or T2).
Press an\f hol\f RESET to reset.

How do I navigate in the infotainment
system?
Press RADIO, MEDIA, MY CAR, NAV*, TEL or on
the \benter \bonsole to sele\bt a mo\fe. The sele\bte\f
mo\fe’s normal view will be \fisplaye\f.
Press OK/MENU or the thumb wheel on the
steering wheel to \fisplay the mo\fe’s main menu.
Turn TUNE or the thumb wheel to navigate in the
menus.
Press OK/MENU or the thumb wheel to make a
sele\btion.
Press EXIT briefly to go ba\bk in the menu system,
\ban\bel a fun\btion or erase \bhara\bters.
Press an\f hol\f EXIT to return to the mo\fe’s normal
view. From a mo\fe’s normal view, press an\f hol\f
EXIT to go to the infotainment system’s main view.
Tip:
To \fisplay the short\but from a mo\fe’s normal view, press
its button on the \benter \bonsole. Press again to return to
the mo\fe’s main view.

How do I answer a call?
