Liquide de frein
1. Remplir:
lLiquide de frein
Jusqu’à ce que le liquide atteigne le niveau
“LOWER” a.
AVERTISSEMENT
lUtiliser exclusivement le type de liquide de
frein recommandé.
sinon les joints en caoutchouc risquent de se
détériorer, entraînant des fuites et un mauvais
fonctionnement du frein.
lToujours utiliser la même marque de liquide
de frein.
le mélange de liquides de marques différentes
risque de provoquer une réaction chimique
nuisible au fonctionnement du frein.
lVeiller à ce que, lors du remplissage, de l’eau
ne pénètre pas dans le maître-cylindre. En
effet, l’eau abaissera nettement le point
d’ébullition du liquide, ce qui risque de provo-
quer un bouchon de vapeur.
ATTENTION:
Le liquide de frein peut attaquer les surfaces
peintes et les pièces en plastique. Toujours
essuyer immédiatement toute trace de liquide
renversé.

Niveau du liquide bas ® Remettre à niveau.
Se reporter à la section “CONTROLE DU
NIVEAU DU LIQUIDE DE FREIN” du CHA-
PITRE 3.
FREIN AVANT ET FREIN ARRIERE
VORDER- UND HINTERRADBREMSE
Bremsflüssigkeit
1. Befüllen:
lBremsflüssigkeit
bei Erreichen der unteren (“LOWER”) Mar-
kierung a.
WARNUNG
lNur Bremsflüssigkeit der vorgeschriebe-
nen Spezifikation verwenden.
Andere Produkte können die Gummidich-
tungen zersetzen und zu Undichtigkeiten
und verminderter Bremsleistung führen.
lAusschließlich Bremsflüssigkeit der glei-
chen Spezifikation nachfüllen.
Mischungen unterschiedlicher Produkte
können zu chemischen Reaktionen und
damit zu verminderter Bremsleistung füh-
ren.
lBeim Nachfüllen darauf achten, daß kein
Wasser in den Bremsflüssigkeitsbehälter
gelangt. Wasser setzt den Siedepunkt der
Bremsflüssigkeit herab und kann bei
Dampfblasenbildung zum Blockieren der
Bremse führen.
ACHTUNG:
Bremsflüssigkeit greift lackierte Flächen
und Kunststoffe an. Verschüttete Brems-
flüssigkeit daher sofort abwischen.

HANDLING NOTE
NOTE:
The front fork requires careful attention. So it is
recommended that the front fork be maintained
at the dealers.
CAUTION:
To prevent an accidental explosion of air,
the following instructions should be
observed:
lThe front fork with a built-in piston rod
has a very sophisticated internal con-
struction and is particularly sensitive to
foreign material.
Use enough care not to allow any foreign
material to come in when the oil is
replaced or when the front fork is disas-
sembled and reassembled.
lBefore removing the cap bolts or front
forks, be sure to extract the air from the
air chamber completely.

1. Remove:

From the outer tube.
NOTE:
Before removing the front fork from the
machine, loosen the front fork cap bolt.

lSet the rod holder 2 between the locknut 3
and washer 4.
lHold the locknut and remove the front fork
cap bolt.

REMARQUES CONCERNANT LA
MANIPULATION
N.B.:
Les interventions sur la fourche avant sont très déli-
cates. Il est donc préférable de confier tout travail
sur la fourche aux concessionnaires.
ATTENTION:
Afin d’éviter toute explosion accidentelle due à
la pression d’air, suivre les instructions ci-des-
sous:
lLa construction interne d’une fourche avant à
tige de piston incorporée est très sophistiquée
et est particulièrement sensible à la présence
de corps étrangers.
Veiller à ne pas laisser pénétrer de corps
étrangers lors du changement de l’huile ou du
démontage et remontage de la fourche.
lAvant de retirer les bouchons de fourche ou les
bras de fourche, veiller à laisser s’échapper
tout l’air du réservoir d’air.
POINTS DE DEPOSE
Bouchon de fourche
1. Déposer:
lBouchon de fourche 1
Du fourreau.
N.B.:
Avant de démonter la fourche avant de la moto,
desserrer le bouchon de fourche.
2. Déposer:
lBouchon de fourche 1
N.B.:
lPlacer l’outil de maintien du ressort de fourche 2
entre le contre-écrou 3 et la rondelle 4.
lMaintenir le contre-écrou et retirer le bouchon de
fourche.

TELESKOPGABEL
HANDHABUNGSHINWEIS
HINWEIS:
Die Teleskopgabel erfordert besondere Auf-
merksamkeit und sollte am besten vom
Yamaha-Händler gewartet werden.
ACHTUNG:
Um einen plötzlichen Druckverlust und
damit verbundene Gefahren zu vermeiden,
unbedingt folgende Hinweise beachten
lDer feine Teleskopgabel-Mechanismus ist
sehr auf Fremdstoffe anfällig.
Deshalb beim Gabelölwechsel sowie bei
der Demontage und Montage darauf ach-
ten, daß keine Fremdstoffe in die Tele-
skopgabel eindringen.
lVor dem Lösen der Verschlußschrauben
unbedingt die Luft aus den Gabelbeinen
vollständig ablassen.
DEMONTAGE-ARBEITEN
Teleskopgabel-Verschlußschraube
1. Entfernen:
lTeleskopgabel-Verschlußschraube 1
vom Außenrohr.
HINWEIS:
Die Verschlußschrauben vor der Teleskopga-
bel-Demontage lockern.
2. Entfernen:
lTeleskopgabel-Verschlußschraube 1
HINWEIS:
lDen Dämpferrohrhalter 2 zwischen Siche-
rungsmutter 3 und Scheibe 4 ansetzen.
lSicherungsmutter festhalten, dabei Tele-
skopgabel-Verschlußschraube entfernen.

CAUTION:
Take care not to scratch the inner tube.

lPush in slowly a the inner tube just before
it bottoms out and then pull it back quickly

be pulled out from the outer tube.

Do not attempt to straighten a bent inner
tube as this may dangerously weaken the
tube.

CAUTION:
To install the damper rod into the inner
tube, hold the inner tube aslant. If the inner
tube is held vertically, the damper rod may

NOTE:
lLoosen the rebound damping adjuster finger
tight.
lRecord the set position of the adjuster (the
amount of turning out the fully turned in posi-
tion).

Fully tighten the front fork cap bolt onto the
damper rod by hand.
NOTE:
Make sure that there is a clearance a of Zero
~ 1 mm (Zero ~ 0.04 in) between the front fork
cap bolt and locknut 2.

NOTE:
Hold the locknut 2 and tighten the front fork
cap bolt with specified torque.
