CAUTION:
All SRS electrical wiring harnesses are covered with
yellow outer Insulation. Before disconnecting the SRS wire harness, Install
the short connector on the airbag (see page STET). Replace the entire affected SRS harness assembly
if it has an open circuit or damaged wiring. After installation of the gauge assembly, recheck the
operation of the SRS indicator light.
Remove the dashboard lower cover, center panel and in-
strument panel. Disconnect the 8-connector (30-P) from
the gauge assembly. (See page 23-126)
Make the following input tests at the connector termi-
nals. If all tests prove OK, yet the indicator stilt fails to
work, replace the safety indicator.

Shift Lever Position Indicator
CAUTION: All SRS electrical wiring harnesses are covered with
yellow outer insulation. Before disconnecting the SRS wire harness, Install
the short connector on the airbus (see page 23-323). Raplace the entire affected SRS harness assembly
if it has an open circuit or damaged wiring. After installation of the gauge assembly, recheck the
operation of the SRS indicator light.
Remove the gauge assembly from the dashboard and dis-
connect the 30-P connector from the gauge assembly.
Make the following input tests at the connector termi-
nals. If all tests prove OK, yet the indicator still fails to
work, replace the main printed circuit panel, speedome-
ter, tachometer and odo/trip meter.

Lighting/Turn Signal Switch Test
1. Remove the dashboard lower cover and dashboard center panel.
2. If necessary, remove the knee bolster. 3. Disconnect the 16-P connector from the floor wire
harness.
4. Check for continuity between the terminals in each switch position according to the table.

Lighting System
Lighting Switch Replacement
CAUTION: All SRS electrical wiring harnesses are covered with
yellow outer insulation.
Before disconnecting the SRS wire harness, install
the short connector on the airbag (see page 23-323). Replace the entire affected SRS harness assembly
if it has an open circuit or damaged wiring.
1. Remove the dashboard lower cover and disconnect the 2-P connectors from the floor wire harness.

Side Marker/Turn Signal/Hazard Flash System
Turn Signal/Hazard Relay Input Test
Remove the dashboard lower cover.
Remove the turn signal/hazard relay from the left kick
panel then disconnect the 6-P connector.
Make the following input tests at the 6-P connector ter-
minals.
If all tests prove OK, but the relay fails to work, replace
the turn signal/hazard relay.

Switch Removal
CAUTION: All SRS electrical wiring harnesses are covered withyellow outer insulation.Before disconnecting the SRS wire harness, install
the short connector on the airbag (see page 23-323). Replace the entire affected SRS harness assembly
if it has an open circuit or damaged wiring.
1. Remove the dashboard lower cover and disconnect the 2-P connectors from the floor wire harness.

CAUTION: Be careful not to damage SRS wires.

Wipers/Washers
Windshield Wiper Motor
Replacement
1. Open the hood and remove the cap nuts and the wiper arms.
NOTE: Carefully remove the wiper arms so that they
do not touch the hood.
2. Remove the windshield lower molding, hood seal and air scoop by prying off the trim clips and removing
the screws (see page 23-281).
3. Disconnect the 5-P connector from the wiper mo- tor assembly, then remove the 2 mounting bolts and
the wiper linkage assembly.

4. Remove the 3 mounting bolts and 1 nut from the wiper linkage assembly to remove the wiper motor.

5. Install the wiper motor assembly in the reverse ord- er of removal. Wiper/Washer Switch

Main Switch Replacement
CAUTION:

2. If necessary, remove the knee bolster.
3. Check for continuity between the terminals in each
switch position according to the table.
