The

counterweight

stops
at

the

stopper
pin

mounted
on

the
exhaust
manifold

the

engine

temperature

low

this
condition

the
heat
control

valve
is
in

the

fully
closed

position

obstructing
the
flow

of
exhaust

gas
As

engine

temperature
goes

up
and
the

ambient

temperature
becomes

high

enough
to
actuate

the
thermostat
