WHAT IS THE REAR
OCCUPANT ALERT SYSTEM
The rear occupant alert system monitorsvehicle conditions and notifies you to checkfor rear seat occupants when you switchthe ignition off.
HOW DOES THE REAR
OCCUPANT ALERT SYSTEM
WORK
The system monitors when rear doors havebeen opened and closed to indicate thepotential presence of an occupant in therear seat.
A message displays in the information andentertainment display screen and anaudible warning sounds when you switchthe ignition off after any of the followingconditions have been met:
•A rear door is opened or closed whilethe ignition is on.
•You switch the ignition on within 15minutes of a rear door opening andclosing.
•You switch the ignition on within 15minutes of the alert having displayedor sounded.

SYSTEM PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: On hot days, thetemperature inside the vehicle can risevery quickly. Exposure of people oranimals to these high temperatures foreven a short time can cause death orserious heat related injuries, includingbrain damage. Small children areparticularly at risk.
WARNING: Do not leave childrenor pets unattended in your vehicle.Failure to follow this instruction couldresult in personal injury or death.
REAR OCCUPANT ALERT
SYSTEM LIMITATIONS
The system does not detect the presenceof objects or passengers in the rear seat.It monitors when rear doors are openedand closed.
Note:It is possible to receive an alert whenthere is no rear seat occupant, but alertconditions are met.
Note:It is possible to receive no alert whenthere is an occupant in the rear seat, if alertconditions are not met. For example, if a rearseat occupant does not enter the vehiclethrough a rear door.
Note:The audible warning does not soundwhen the front door is opened before youswitch the ignition off.

WHAT IS THE MEMORY
FUNCTION
The memory function recalls the positionof these features:
•Driver seat.
•Power mirrors.
•Optional power steering column.
•Optional power adjustable pedals.
MEMORY FUNCTION
PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: Before activating thememory seat, make sure that the areaimmediately surrounding the seat is clearof obstructions and that all occupantsare clear of moving parts.
WARNING: Do not use the memoryfunction when your vehicle is moving.
LOCATING THE MEMORY
FUNCTION BUTTONS
The memory control is on the driver door.
SAVING A PRESET POSITION
1.Adjust the memory features to yourpreferred position.
2.Press and hold the preferred presetbutton until you hear a single tone.
A confirmation message appears in theinformation display.
You can save up to three preset memorypositions at any time.
RECALLING A PRESET
POSITION
Press and release a preset button.
Note:You can recall a preset memoryposition when the ignition is off, or when youplace the transmission in park (P) or neutral(N) if the ignition is on and the vehicle is notmoving.
Note:Pressing any of the preset buttons orany memory feature control during amemory recall cancels the operation.
You can also recall a preset memoryposition by:
•Pressing the unlock button on yourremote control if you linked it to apreset position.
•Unlocking the intelligent driver doorhandle if a linked remote control ispresent.
•Recalling a personal profile in yourSYNC menu.
Using a linked remote control to recall yourmemory position when the ignition is offmoves the seat and steering column to theeasy entry position.

Linking a Preset Position to YourRemote Control or Passive Key
Your vehicle can save the preset memorypositions for up to three remote controlsor passive keys.
1.With the ignition on, move the memorypositions to the preferred positions.
2.Press and hold the preferred presetbutton for about five seconds. A tonesounds after about two seconds.Continue holding until you hear asecond tone.
3.Within three seconds, press the lockbutton on the remote control you arelinking.
To unlink a remote control, follow thesame procedure – except in step 3, pressthe unlock button on the remote control.
Note:If more than one linked remotecontrol or passive key is in range, thememory function moves to the settings ofthe first key to recall a memory position.

HomeLink Wireless ControlSystem
The universal garage door opener replacesthe common handheld garage door openerwith a three-button transmitter integratedinto the driver-side sun visor.
How Does The Garage Door OpenerWork
The system includes two primary features,a garage door opener and a platform forremote activation of devices within thehome. You can program garage doors aswell as entry gate operators, securitysystems, entry door locks and home oroffice lighting.

Garage Door Opener Limitations
Canadian radio-frequency laws requiretransmitter signals to time out, or quit,after several seconds – which may not belong enough for HomeLink to pick up thesignal. U.S. gate operators time-out in thesame manner.

Garage Door Opener Precautions
WARNING: Do not use the systemwith any garage door opener that doesnot have the safety stop and reversefeature as required by U.S. FederalSafety Standards (this includes anygarage door opener manufacturedbefore April 1, 1982). A garage dooropener which cannot detect an object,signaling the door to stop and reverse,does not meet current federal safetystandards. Using a garage door openerwithout these features increases the riskof serious injury or death.
FCC and RSS-210 Industry CanadaCompliance
WARNING: Changes ormodifications not expressively approvedby the party responsible for compliancecould void the user's authority to operatethe equipment. The term "IC:" before theradio certification number only signifiesthat Industry Canada technicalspecifications were met.
This device complies with Part 15 of theFCC Rules and with RSS-210 of IndustryCanada. Operation is subject to thefollowing two conditions: (1) this devicemay not cause harmful interference, and(2) this device must accept anyinterference received, includinginterference that may cause undesiredoperation.

This equipment complies with FCCradiation exposure limits set forth for anuncontrolled environment. End Users mustfollow the specific operating instructionsfor satisfying RF exposure compliance. Thistransmitter must be at least 8 in (20 cm)from the user and must not be co-locatedor operating in conjunction with any otherantenna or transmitter.
PROGRAMMING THE GARAGE
DOOR OPENER
To clear all stored codes in the garage dooropener in your vehicle, use the clearfunction. To override one button, use thereprogram function.
Note:Make sure that the garage door andsecurity device are free from obstructionwhen you are programming. Do not programthe system with the vehicle in the garage.
Clearing the Garage Door Opener
To clear all stored codes in the garage dooropener in the vehicle:
1.Press and hold the outer two functionbuttons simultaneously forapproximately 10 seconds until theindicator above the buttons flashesrapidly.
2.When the indicator flashes, release thebuttons.
Note:This clears all stored codes. Youcannot erase individual buttons.
Note:You can program a maximum ofthree devices. To change or replace any ofthe three devices after they have beeninitially programmed, you must either clearall codes, or reprogram each individualbutton.
Note:We recommend that upon the saleor lease termination of your vehicle, youerase the programmed function buttons forsecurity reasons.
Reprogramming the Garage DoorOpener
If a button on your garage door opener hasalready been programmed, you canoverride it. To program a device to apreviously trained button:
1.Press and hold the desired button forapproximately 20 seconds until theindicator begins to flash.
2.Without releasing the button, proceedto Step 3 of Programming theGarage Door Opener to yourHandheld Transmitter.
Programming the Garage DoorOpener to your HandheldTransmitter
Note:The programming steps belowassume you are programming a HomeLinkthat was not previously programmed. If yourHomeLink was previously programmed, youmay need to clear or reprogram yourHomeLink buttons.
Note:Put a new battery in the handheldtransmitter. This allows for quicker trainingand accurate transmission of theradio-frequency signal.
Note:Make sure that the garage door andsecurity device are free from obstructionwhen you are programming. Do not programthe system with the vehicle in the garage.

To program your in-vehicle HomeLinkfunction button with your handheldtransmitter:
1.With your vehicle parked outside of thegarage, switch your vehicle on, but donot start your vehicle.
2.Press and release one of the threeHomeLink function buttons that youwould like to program.
Note:The indicator should begin to flash.If the indicator does not flash, press andhold the function button for 20 seconds untilthe indicator begins to flash.
3.Hold your handheld garage doortransmitter 1–3 in (2–8 cm) away fromthe HomeLink button you want toprogram.
4.Press and hold the handheldtransmitter button you want toprogram while watching the indicatoron HomeLink. Continue to hold thehandheld button until the HomeLinkindicator flashes rapidly or iscontinuously on.
Note:You may need to use a differentmethod if you live in Canada or havedifficulties programming your gate operatoror garage door opener.
5.Press and hold the HomeLink buttonyou programmed for two seconds, thenrelease. You may need to do this twiceto activate the door.
Note:If the indicator stays on, theprogramming is complete.
Note:If the HomeLink indicator flashesrapidly, repeat Step 5.
Note:If your device still does not operate,you must program your garage door.
6.To program additional buttons, repeatSteps 1–4.
Note:Make sure you keep the originalremote control transmitter for use in othervehicles as well as for future systemprogramming.
Programming the Garage DoorOpener to your Garage DoorOpener Motor
Note:Make sure that the garage door andsecurity device are free from obstructionwhen you are programming. Do not programthe system with the vehicle in the garage.
1.Press the learn button on the garagedoor opener motor and then you have30 seconds to complete the next twosteps.
2.Return to your vehicle.

3.Press and hold one of the threeHomeLink function buttons you wantto program for two seconds, thenrelease.

Programming the Garage DoorOpener to your Gate Opener Motor
Gate Operator / CanadianProgramming
Canadian radio-frequency laws requiretransmitter signals to time-out (or quit)after several seconds of transmission –which may not be long enough forHomeLink to pick up the signal duringprogramming. Similar to this Canadian law,some U.S. gate operators are designed totime-out in the same manner.
Note:If programming a garage door openeror gate operator, it is advised that youunplug the device during the cycling processto prevent possible overheating.
1.Press and release your handheldtransmitter,every two seconds, untilthe HomeLink indicator flashes rapidlyor is continuously on.
2.Release the handheld transmitterbutton.
3.Press and hold the HomeLink functionbutton you want to program for twoseconds, then release. You may needto do this twice to activate the door.
Note:If the indicator stays on, theprogramming is complete.
Note:If the HomeLink indicator flashesrapidly, repeat Step 3.
4.To program additional buttons, repeatSteps 1–4.
