Roof Rack

If the vehicle has a roof rack, you can
load cargo on top of your vehicle.
NOTICE
[If the vehicle is equipped with a
sunroof, be sure not to position cargo
onto the roof rack in such a way
that it could interfere with sunroof
operation.
[When carrying cargo on the roof
rack, take the necessary precautions
to make sure the cargo does not
damage the roof of the vehicle.
[When carrying large objects on the
roof rack, make sure they do not
exceed the overall roof length or
width.
WARNING
[The following specification is the
maximum weight that can be loaded
onto the roof rack.
Distribute the load as evenly as
possible onto the roof rack and
secure the load firmly.

EVENLY DISTRIBUTED
Loading cargo or luggage in excess
of the specified weight limit on the
roof rack may damage your vehicle.
[The vehicle center of gravity will be
higher when items are loaded onto
the roof rack.
Avoid sudden starts, braking, sharp
turns, abrupt maneuvers or high
speeds that may result in loss of
vehicle control or rollover resulting
in an accident.
[Always drive slowly and turn corners
carefully when carrying items on the
roof rack.
Severe wind updrafts, caused by
passing vehicles or natural causes,
can cause sudden upward pressure
on items loaded on the roof rack.
This is especially true when carrying
large, flat items such as wood panels
or mattresses.
This could cause the items to fall off
the roof rack and cause damage to
your vehicle or others around you.
[To prevent damage or loss of cargo
while driving, check frequently
before or while driving to make
sure the items on the roof rack are
securely fastened.

Air conditioning system operation tips
[If the vehicle has been parked in
direct sunlight during hot weather,
open the windows for a short time
to let the hot air inside the vehicle
escape.
[After sufficient cooling has been
achieved, switch back from
recirculation mode to fresh mode.
[To help reduce moisture inside of
the windows on rainy or humid
days, decrease the humidity inside
the vehicle by operating the air
conditioning system with the windows
and sunroof closed.
[Use the air conditioning system
every month only for a few minutes
to ensure maximum system
performance.
[If you operate air conditioner
excessively, the difference between
the temperature of the outside air and
that of the windshield could cause
the outer surface of the windshield to
fog up, causing loss of visibility. In this
case, set the mode selection to the

position and fan speed control to the
lowest speed.
System Maintenance
Cabin air filter

The cabin air filter is installed under the
front trunk cover. It filters the dust or
other pollutants that enter the vehicle
through the heating and air conditioning
system.
Have the cabin air filter be replaced by
an authorized retailer of Genesis Branded
products according to the maintenance
schedule. If the vehicle is being driven in
severe conditions such as dusty or rough
roads, more frequent cabin air filter
inspections and changes are required.
If the air flow rate suddenly decreases,
have the system be inspected at an
authorized retailer of Genesis Branded
products.

Driving Your Vehicle
Reducing the Risk of a Rollover
Your multi-purpose passenger vehicle is
defined as a Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV).
SUV’s have higher ground clearance
and a narrower track to make them
capable of performing in a wide variety
of off-road applications. The specific
design characteristics give them a higher
center of gravity than ordinary vehicles
making them more likely to roll over if
you make abrupt turns. Utility vehicles
have a significantly higher rollover rate
than other types of vehicles. Due to this
risk, driver and passengers are strongly
recommended to buckle their seat belts.
In a rollover crash, an unbelted person
is significantly more likely to die than a
person wearing a seat belt.
There are steps that a driver can make
to reduce the risk of a rollover. If at all
possible, avoid sharp turns or abrupt
maneuvers, do not load your vehicle
with heavy cargo on the roof, and never
modify your vehicle in any way. WARNING
Utility vehicles have a significantly
higher rollover rate than other types of
vehicles. To prevent rollovers or loss of
control:
[Take corners at slower speeds than
you would with a passenger vehicle.
[Avoid sharp turns and abrupt
maneuvers.
[Do not modify your vehicle in any
way that you would raise the center
of gravity.
[Keep tires properly inflated.
[Do not carry heavy cargo on the roof.
WARNING
In a rollover crash, an unbelted person
is significantly more likely to die than a
person wearing a seat belt. Make sure
all passengers are wearing their seat
belts.

Follow Normal Maintenance Schedule if the vehicle is usually operated where none of
the following conditions apply. If any of the following conditions apply, you must follow
the Maintenance Under Severe Usage Conditions.
[Repeatedly driving short distance of less than 5 miles (8 km) in normal temperature
or less than 10 miles (16 km) in freezing temperature
[Low speed driving for long distances
[Driving on rough, dusty, muddy, unpaved, graveled or salt spread roads
[Driving in areas using salt or other corrosive materials or in very cold weather
[Driving in heavy dust condition
[Driving in heavy traffic area with the ambient temperature higher than 90 ºF (32 ºC)
while consuming more than 50% of electric energy.
[Driving on uphill, downhill, or mountain roads repeatedly
[Towing a trailer, or using a camper or roof rack
[Driving as a patrol car, taxi, other commercial use or vehicle towing
[Frequently driving under high speed or rapid acceleration/deceleration
[Frequently driving in stop-and-go conditions
If your vehicle is operated under the above conditions, you should inspect, replace
or refill more frequently than the following Normal Maintenance Schedule. After the
periods or distance shown in the chart, continue to follow the prescribed maintenance
intervals.

Designated seating positions.
Outward facing sidewall
An asymmetrical tire has a particular
side that faces outward when
mounted on a vehicle. The outward
facing sidewall bears white lettering
or bears manufacturer, brand, and/or
model name molding that is higher
or deeper than the same moldings
on the inner facing sidewall.
Passenger (P-Metric) tire
A tire used on passenger cars
and some light duty trucks and
multipurpose vehicles.
Ply
A layer of rubber-coated parallel
cords.
Pneumatic tire
A mechanical device made of rubber,
chemicals, fabric and steel or other
materials, that, when mounted on
an automotive wheel provides the
traction and contains the gas or fluid
that sustains the load.
Pneumatic options weight
The combined weight of installed
regular production options weighing
over 5 lb. (2.3 kg) in excess of the
