ABS Service Reminder Indicator (SRI)(If installed)
When the key is turned to the "ON" position, the Anti-Lock Brake System will come on and then go off in a fewseconds. If the ABS SRI remains on, comes on while driving, or does not come on when the key is turned to the"ON" position, this indicates that there may be a problem with the ABS. If this occurs, have your vehiclechecked by your Hyundai dealer as soon as possible. The normal braking system will still be operational, butwithout the assistance of the anti-lock brake system.
!WARNING:
If the both ABS SRI and Parking Brake/Brake fluid level warning lights remain "ON" or come on whiledriving, there may be a problem with E.B.D (Electronic brake force distri- bution).If this occurs, avoid sudden stops and have your vehicle checked by your Hyundai dealer as soon aspossible.
B270A01A-AAT BRAKE PAD WEAR WARNING SOUND The front disc brake pads have wear indicators that should make a high-pitched squealing or scraping noise when new pads are needed. The sound may come and go or be heard all thetime when the vehicle is moving. It may also be heard when the brake pedal is pushed down firmly. Exces-sive rotor damage will result if the worn pads are not replaced. See your Hyundai dealer immediately.

The needle on the engine coolant tem- perature gauge should stay in the nor-mal range. If it moves across the dial to "H" (Hot), pull over and stop as soon as possible and turn off the engine. Thenopen the hood and, after the engine has cooled, check the coolant level and the water pump drive belt. CAUTION:

NOTE: Any alteration of the odometer may void your warranty coverage. 2,3 Trip odometer Records the distance of 2 trips in kilo- meters or miles.TRIP A: First distance you have trav- eled from your origination point to a first destination.TRIP B: Second distance from the first destination to the final destination. To shift from TRIP A to TRIP B, press the reset switch. When pressed for 1 second, it will reset to 0.

Reset Switch
o The reset switch is used to zero the
multi-functional display mode.
o Pushing in the reset switch on the left side of tachometer changes the display as follows; 1. Distance to Empty
o This mode provides the estimated
distance to empty from the current fuel level in the fuel tank.
o The trip computer may not register additional fuel if less than 6 liters(1.36 gallons) of fuel are added to thevehicle.
o When the battery has been rein-
stalled after being discharged ordisconnected, drive more than 32km for an accurate distance to empty.

MULTI-FUNCITION LIGHT SWITCH
B340A01A-AAT Combination Turn Signal, Headlight and High-beamSwitchTurn Signal Operation Pulling down on the lever causes the turn signals on the left side of the car to blink. Pushing upwards on the levercauses the turn signals on the right side of the car to blink. As the turn is completed, the lever will automaticallyreturn to the center position and turn off the turn signals at the same time. If either turn signal indicator light blinksmore rapidly than usual, goes on but does not blink, or does not go on at all, there is a malfunction in the system.Check for a burned-out fuse or bulb or see your Hyundai dealer.

The system automatically turns off the small light when the driver re-moves the ignition key and opens the driver- side door.
o With this feature, the parklight will be
turned off automatically if the driverparks on the side of road at night.
If necessary, to keep the lights on whenthe ignition key is removed, perform the following :
1) Open the driver-side door.
2) Turn the parklights OFF and ON again using the light switch on the steering column.
B340F01A-GAT Daytime Running Lights (If Installed) Your Hyundai is equipped with daytime running lights. The daytime running lightsare used to improve visibility for oncom- ing traffic. Your vehicle daytime running lights are designed to remain on continu-ously when the engine is operating even though the headlight switch is in the "OFF" position. However, the daytimerunning lights will be off while the parking brake is applied.
B340B01A-AAT Lane Change Signal To indicate a lane change, move the lever up or down to a point where it begins flashing.The lever will automatically return to the center position when released. B340C03E-AAT Headlight Switch To operate the headlights, turn the bar- rel on the end of the multi-function switch. The first position turns on theparking lights, sidelights, tail lights and instrument panel lights. The second position turns on the headlights. NOTE: The ignition must be in the "ON" position to turn on the headlights. Parking light auto cut (If installed)
o The purpose of this feature is to
prevent the battery from being dis- charged.

B340D01A-AAT High-beam Switch To turn on the headlight high beams, push the lever forward (away fromyou). The high beam indicator light will come on at the same time. For low beams, pull the lever back toward you. B340G01LZ-GAT Auto Light (If installed) To operate the automatic light feature, turn the barrel on the end of the multi-function switch. If you set the multi- function switch to "AUTO", the tail lights and headlights will be turnedautomatically on or off according to external illumination. o Never place anything over sen-
sor located on the instrument panel, this will ensure better auto light system control.
o Don't clean the sensor using a window cleaner.

Auto Light SensorB340E01A-AAT Headlight Flasher To flash the headlights, pull the switch lever toward you, then release it. The headlights can be flashed even thoughthe headlight switch is in the "OFF" position.
