Instead, push the metal ash recep- tacle down and forward in the ashtray door, and it can then be lifted out. Toreinstall it, place it in the proper posi- tion and press it down and forward to reengage the ash receptacle rear lip inthe ashtray door. The ashtray light will only illuminate when the exterior body lights are switched on. B440A02L-AAT REAR ASHTRAY The rear ashtray may be opened by pulling the ashtray lid out. To remove the ashtray to empty or clean it, lift the metal ash receptacle up ward and pullit out.

If the sunroof does not electrically op- erate:
1. Remove the rectangular plastic in- terior light lens in the front of the roof panel. HXGS234
WARNING:
o Do not close a sunroof if anyone's hands, arms or body are between the sliding glass and the sunroof sash, as this could result in in- jury.
o Do not place your head or arms out of the sunroof opened at anytime. B460C01Y-AAT Tilting the Sunroof System
The sunroof can be tilted and closed with the ignition key in the "ON" posi- tion. Release the button when the sunroof reaches the desired position. NOTE: After washing the car or after there is rain, be sure to wipe off any water that is on the sunroof before oper-ating it. HXGS233!
CAUTION:
o Do not open the sunroof in se- verely cold temperature or when it is covered with ice or snow.
o Periodically remove any dirt that may have accumulated on theguide rails.!

3. Insert the hexagonal head wrench provided with the vehicle into the socket. This wrench can be found inthe vehicle's trunk or glove box.
4. Turn the wrench clockwise to open
or counterclockwise to close thesunroof.

B510D01HP-AAT OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRROR HEATER (If installed) The outside rearview mirror heater is actuated in connection with the rear window defroster. To heat the outsiderearview mirror glass, push in the switch for the rear window defroster. The rearview mirror glass will be heated fordefrosting or defogging and will give you improved rear vision in inclimate weather conditions. Push the switchagain to turn the heater off. The out- side rearview mirror heater automati- cally turns itself off after 20 minutes. HXG122

o Do not operate the switch con- tinuously for an unnecessary length of time.

B510B01L-AAT OUTSIDE REARVIEW MIRROR Electric Type (If installed) The outside rearview mirrors can be adjusted in any direction to give the maximum rearview vision. The remote control outside rearviewmirror switch controls the adjustments for both right and left outside mirrors. To adjust the position of either mirror:
1. Move the selecting switch to the
right or left to activate the adjustable mechanism for the corresponding door mirror.
2. Now, adjust mirror angle by de- pressing the appropriate directionalswitch as illustrated. B510B01L

WARNING:
Be careful when judging the size or distance of any object seen in the passenger side rear view mirror. Itis a convex mirror with a curved surface. Any objects seen in this mirror are closer than they appear.

To fold the outside rear view mirrors, push them toward the rear. The outside rear view mirrors can befolded rearward for parking in narrow areas. To open the trunk lid without using the key, pull up the lid release lever lo-cated on the driver's door panel. To close, lower the trunk lid, then press down on it until it locks. To besure the trunk lid is securely fastened, always check by trying to pull it up again. HXGS231B530B01L-GAT PARKING BRAKE (Foot type)
o To engage the foot type parking
brake, depress the parking brake pedal beneath the left side of the lower instrument panel.
o To release the parking brake, pull up the parking brake release leverat the left side of the instrumentpanel. HXGS325
Always engage the parking brake be- fore leaving the car. This also turns on the parking brake indicator light when the key is in the "ON" or "START"position. Before driving away, be sure that the parking brake is fully released and the indicator light is off.
o To engage the parking brake, pull
the lever up as far as possible.
o To release the parking brake, pull up the lever and press the thumb button. Then, while holding the but-ton in, lower the brake lever.

B540B04Y-AAT Trunk Lid Knob Lock (If installed) If the trunk lid lock knob (located near the latch) is in the "LOCK" position when the trunk lid is closed, it will notbe possible to open the trunk lid by using the remote release. In this in- stance, use the master key to unlockand open the trunk lid. To allow the trunk lid to be opened with the remote release, push the trunk lidlock knob down, then to the opposite direction of the "LOCK" position.
