operates, the CTS indicator light turns
on.
NOTE
xEven if the CTS is temporarily
cancelled during stop hold control,
the vehicle is held in its stopped
position.
xThe parking brake is automatically
applied and the vehicle is held in its
stopped position when 10 minutes
or longer have passed since the stop
hold control operated. When this
occurs, the CTS is temporarily
cancelled.
xIf the i-stop operation conditions are
met during stop hold control, the
engine stops even though the brake
pedal is not depressed.

Lane-keep Assist System
(LAS)
*
▼Lane-keep Assist System (LAS)
The LAS provides steering assistance to
help the driver stay within the vehicle
lane if the vehicle might be deviating.
The forward sensing camera (FSC)
detects the white lines (yellow lines) of
the vehicle lane in which the vehicle is
travelling and if the system determines
that the vehicle may deviate from its
lane, it operates the electric power
steering to assist the driver’s steering
operation. The system also alerts the
driver by displaying an alert on the
multi-information display and the
active driving display. Use the system
when you drive the vehicle on roads
with white (yellow) lines such as
expressways and highways.
1. Forward sensing camera (FSC)
WARNING
Do not rely completely on the LAS:
¾The LAS is not an automated driving
system. In addition, the system is not
designed to compensate for a
driver’s lack of caution, and
over-reliance on the system could
lead to an accident.
When Driving
i-ACTIVSENSE
4-162*Some models.

¾The functions of the LAS have
limitations. Always stay on course
using the steering wheel and drive
with care.
¾Do not use the LAS under the
following circumstances, otherwise it
may result in an accident.
¾The vehicle is driven on slippery
roads such as icy or snow-covered
roads, and unpaved roads.
¾Tyres of a
different
specified size
are used, such as a temporary
spare tyre.
¾Tyres with
insufficient tread are
used.
¾The tyre pressures are not adjusted
to the
specified pressure.
¾The vehicle is being used to tow a
camper or boat trailer.
¾Tyre chains are used.
¾The vehicle is driven on roads with
lane lines other than white (yellow)
lines, such as an expressway.
CAUTION
Heed the following cautions so that
the LAS can operate normally.
¾Do not modify the vehicle's
suspensions.
¾Always use tyres of the specified type
and size for the front and rear
wheels. Consult an expert repairer
(we recommend an Authorised
Mazda Repairer) for tyre
replacement.
NOTE
The system may not operate normally
under the following conditions.
xThe white (yellow) lane lines are less
visible because of dirt or paint
flaking.
xWhite (yellow) lane lines are less
visible because of bad weather (rain,
fog, or snow).
xThe vehicle is driven on a temporary
lane or section with a closed lane
resulting from construction where
there might be multiple white
(yellow) lane lines, or they are
interrupted.
xThe camera picks up an obscure line,
such as a temporary line being used
for construction, or because of
shade, unmelted snow, or grooves
filled with water.
xThe surrounding brightness suddenly
changes such as when entering or
exiting a tunnel.
xBack-light is reflected off the road
surface.
xThe road surface is wet and shiny
after rain, or there are puddles on
the road.
xThe width of a lane is excessively
narrow.
xThe vehicle is driven on roads with
tight curves.
xHeavy luggage is loaded in the
luggage compartment or on the rear
seat causing the vehicle to tilt.
xThe vehicle is driven through a fork in
the road or a junction.
xThe shade of a guardrail parallel to a
white (yellow) lane line is cast on the
road.
xThe illumination of the headlights is
weakened because of dirt or the
optical axis is deviated at night.
xThe road is excessively uneven.xThe vehicle is shaken after hitting a
road bump.
xA vehicle in front of your vehicle is
running near a white (yellow) lane
line making it less visible.
xThe windscreen is dirty or foggy.

Intelligent Speed
Assistance (ISA)
*
▼Intelligent Speed Assistance (ISA)
The ISA is a function which keeps the
vehicle speed below the speed limit
set from a speed limit sign or an
optionally set speed limit. The speed
limit can be set between 30 and 200
km/h (19-125 mph), and if the vehicle
speed exceeds the set speed limit
while driving on steep slopes, the
system notifies the driver using the
display and a warning sound.
The ISA recognises a speed limit sign
based on the
Tra ffi c Sign Recognition
System (TSR) or the navigation system
information.
Refer to
Tra ffi c Sign Recognition
System (TSR) on page 4-111.
WARNING
Always turn
off the system when
changing drivers:
If the driver is changed and the new
driver is unaware of the ISA function,
the vehicle may not accelerate when
the driver depresses the accelerator
pedal, leading to an accident.
Depending on the weather conditions
or problems with traffic signs, a traffic
sign may not be recognised or a traffic
sign
different from the actual
traffic
sign may be displayed. Always make it
your responsibility as a driver to check
the actual traffic signs. Otherwise, it
could result in an accident.
NOTE
The ISA operates only when the
navigation system's SD card (Mazda
genuine) is inserted. In addition, the
Adjustable Speed Limiter (ASL)
operates only when the navigation
system's SD card (Mazda genuine) is
not inserted. Refer to Adjustable
Speed Limiter (ASL) on page 4-166.
