FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE
1.FUEL PRESSURE RELEASE
With CONSULT
1. Turn ignition switch ON.
2. Perform “FUEL PRESSURE RELEA SE” in “WORK SUPPORT” mode of “ENGINE” using CONSULT.
3. Start engine.
4. After engine stalls, crank it two or three times to release all fuel pressure.
5. Turn ignition switch OFF.
Without CONSULT
1. Remove fuel pump fuse located in IPDM E/R. For the fuse number, refer to EC-117, "Wiring Diagram"
. For
the fuse arrangement, refer to PG-72, "Fuse, Connector and Terminal Arrangement"
.
2. Start engine.
3. After engine stalls, crank it two or three times to release all fuel pressure.
4. Turn ignition switch OFF.
5. Reinstall fuel pump fuse after servicing fuel system.
>> END
FUEL PRESSURE CHECK
CAUTION:
Before disconnecting fuel line, release fuel pr essure from fuel line to eliminate danger.
NOTE:
• Prepare pans or saucers under the disconnected fuel line because the fuel may spill out. The fuel
pressure cannot be completely released because th is models do not have fuel return system.
• Use Fuel Pressure Gauge Kit [SST: (J-44321)] to check fuel pressure.
1.FUEL PRESSURE CHECK
1. Release fuel pressure to zero.
2. Connect fuel tube adapter [SST:KV10120000] (B) to quick con-
nector.
3. Turn ignition switch ON and check for fuel leakage.
4. Start engine and check for fuel leakage.
5. Read the indication of fuel pressure gauge.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> INSPECTION END
NO >> GO TO 2.
2.CHECK FUEL HOSES AND FUEL TUBES
Check fuel hoses and fuel tubes for clogging.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> Replace “fuel filter and fuel pump assembly”. Refer to FL-6, "Removal and Installation".
NO >> Repair or replace error-detected parts.
A : Fuel pressure gauge
C : Fuel feed hose

HOW TO SET SRT CODE
DescriptionINFOID:0000000009462143
OUTLINE
In order to set all SRTs, the self-diagnoses as in
the “SRT ITEM” table must have been performed at least
once. Each diagnosis may require actual driving for a long period of time under various conditions.
SRT ITEM
The table below shows required self-diagnostic items to set the SRT to “CMPLT”.
*1: Though displayed on the CONSULT screen, “HO2S HTR” is not SRT item.
*2: If completion of several SRTs is required, perfo rm driving patterns (DTC confirmation procedure), one by
one based on the priority for models with CONSULT.

Always drive the vehicle in safe ma
nner according to traffic conditions and obey all traffic laws.
*1: Depress the accelerator pedal until vehicle speed is 90 km/h (56 MPH), then release the accelerator pedal
and keep it released for more than 10 seconds. Depress the accelerator pedal until vehicle speed is 90 km/h
(56 MPH) again.
*2: Checking the vehicle speed with GST is advised.
• The time required for each diagnosis varies with road su rface conditions, weather, altitude, individual driving
habits, etc.
• “Zone A” is the fastest time where required for the diagnosis under normal conditions*. If the diagnosis is not
completed within “Zone A”, the diagnosis can still be performed within “Zone B”.

HOW TO ERASE PERMANENT DTC
DescriptionINFOID:0000000009462146
OUTLINE
When a DTC is stored in ECM
When a DTC is stored in ECM and MIL is ON, a permanent
DTC is erased with MIL shutoff if the same mal-
function is not detected after performing the drivi ng pattern for MIL shutoff three times in a raw.
When a DTC is not stored in ECM
The erasing method depends on a permanent DTC stor ed in ECM. Refer to the following table.
NOTE:
If the applicable permanent DTC includes multiple groups, perform the procedure of Group B first. If the per-
manent DTC is not erased, per form the procedure of Group A.
×: Applicable —: Not applicable
*: For group, refer to EC-105, "DTC Index".
PERMANENT DTC ITEM
For permanent DTC items, MIL turns ON. Refer to EC-105, "DTC Index".
*1: When the same malfunction is de-
tected in two consecutive trips, MIL
will illuminate. *2: MIL will turn off after vehicle is driven
3 times (driving pattern B) without
any malfunctions.
