Changing the third brake light bulbs
(4 bulbs W 5 W)
P r e s s o n t h e fi x i n g p i n s o n e a c h s i d e
of the light.
Take out the light from the outside.
Turn the bulb holder which corre-
sponds to the faulty bulb one quar-
ter of a turn and remove it.
Pull the bulb and change it. Changing the number plate light
bulbs (W 5 W)
Insert a thin screwdriver in one of
t h e e x t e r i o r h o l e s o f t h e l e n s .
Push it towards the outside to unclip it.
Remove the lens.
Pull the bulb and change it.
T o r e fi t , c a r r y o u t t h e s e o p e r a t i o n s i n r e -
verse order.
High pressure washing
When using this type of washing
on stubborn dirt, do not persist on
the headlamps, the lights and their
surrounds to avoid damaging their
varnish and their seal.

1. Brake lights (P 21 W).

T h e s e fi v e b u l b s a r e c h a n g e d f r o m o u t -
s i d e t h e b o o t :
r e m o v e t h e a c c e s s fl a p ,
disconnect the light connector,
r e m o v e t h e l i g h t fi x i n g b o l t ,
take out the light from the outside,
press on the four tabs and remove
the bulb holder,
turn the bulb a quarter of a turn and
change it.
T o r e fi t , c a r r y o u t t h e s e o p e r a t i o n s i n r e -
verse order.
Take care to engage the light in its
guides keeping it in the centreline of the
vehicle.
T i g h t e n t h e fi x i n g b o l t s u f fi c i e n t l y b y
hand to guarantee the sealing of the
light.
Amber coloured bulbs, such as the
direction indicators, must be replaced
w i t h b u l b s o f i d e n t i c a l s p e c i fi c a t i o n
and colour.

CHANGING A FUSE
Procedure for the replacement of a
faulty fuse with a new fuse in order to
rectify a failure of the corresponding
function.
Access to the tools
T h e e x t r a c t i o n p l i e r s a r e i n s t a l l e d o n t h e
b a c k o f t h e f a s c i a f u s e b o x c o v e r .
T o g a i n a c c e s s t o t h e m :
unclip the cover pulling at the top,
remove the cover completely,
remove the pliers. Replacing a fuse
Before replacing a fuse, the cause of
t h e f a i l u r e m u s t b e i d e n t i fi e d a n d r e c t i -
fi e d .
I d e n t i f y t h e f a u l t y f u s e b y e x a m i n i n g
t h e c o n d i t i o n o f i t s fi l a m e n t .
U s e t h e s p e c i a l p l i e r s t o e x t r a c t t h e
fuse from its housing.
Always replace the faulty fuse with a
fuse of the same rating.
Check that the number engraved
o n t h e b o x a n d t h e r a t i n g e n g r a v e d
on the top correspond to the tables
which follow.

BATTERY
Procedure for charging your battery
w h e n i t i s fl a t o r f o r s t a r t i n g t h e e n g i n e
using another battery.
Access to the battery Starting using another battery
Connect the red cable to the posi-
t i v e t e r m i n a l ( + ) o f t h e fl a t b a t t e r y A ,
t h e n t o t h e p o s i t i v e t e r m i n a l ( + ) o f
the slave battery B .
Connect one end of the green or
black cable to the negative terminal
( - ) o f t h e s l a v e b a t t e r y B .
Connect the other end of the green
or black cable to an earth point C on
the broken down vehicle, as far as
p o s s i b l e f r o m t h e b a t t e r y ( f o r e x a m -
p l e , r i g h t - h a n d e n g i n e m o u n t i n g ) .
Operate the starter, let the engine
run.
Wait until the engine returns to idle
and disconnect the cables.
The battery is located under the bonnet
on the left.
T o g a i n a c c e s s t o i t :
open the bonnet using the interior
l e v e r , t h e n t h e e x t e r i o r l e v e r ,
secure the bonnet strut,
remove the plastic cover to gain ac-
cess to the two terminals.

Do not disconnect the terminals
while the engine is running.
Do not charge the batteries without
d i s c o n n e c t i n g t h e t e r m i n a l s fi r s t .
Do not push the vehicle to start the
e n g i n e i f i t i s fi t t e d w i t h a " 2 T r o n i c "
g e a r b o x .
The batteries contain harmful sub-
stances such as sulphuric acid and
lead. They must be disposed of in
accordance with regulations and
must not, in any circumstances, be
discarded with household waste.
Take used remote control batteries
and vehicle batteries to a special
collection point.
Charging the battery using a
battery charger
Disconnect the battery from the ve-
hicle.
Follow the instructions for use pro-
vided by the manufacturer of the
charger.
Reconnect starting with the nega-
t i v e t e r m i n a l ( - ) .
Check that the terminals and connec-
tors are clean. If they are covered with
s u l p h a t e ( w h i t i s h o r g r e e n i s h d e p o s i t ) ,
remove them and clean them.
LOAD REDUCTION MODE
System which manages the use of cer-tain functions in relation to the level of charge remaining in the battery.
When the vehicle is being driven, the load reduction function temporarily deactivates certain functions, such as the air condi-tioning, the rear screen de-icing...
The deactivated functions are reactivat-ed automatically as soon as conditions permit.
It is advisable to disconnect the
battery if the vehicle is to be left un-
used for more than one month. Before disconnecting the
battery
Wait 2 minutes after switching off
the ignition before disconnecting
the battery.
Close the windows and the doors
before disconnecting the battery.
Following reconnection of the
battery
Following reconnection of the bat-
tery, switch on the ignition and wait
1 minute before starting to permit in-
itialisation of the electronic systems.

countered following this operation,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
