Dipped / main beam change Pull the stalk fully towards you.

The engine and the ignition mustbe switched off when filling withfuel :
 Open the fuel filler flap by press-ing its front right hand edge,
 Unscrew the cap and hook it overthe tab located on the inside of theflap.
When filling up your tank, do not con-
tinue after the 3rd cut-off of thepump; this could cause your vehicleto malfunction. The capacity of the tank is approx- imately 80 litres.  After filling the tank, screw the capon fully and close the flap.
Fuel filler cap open When this light comes on,accompanied by an audiblesignal and the message'Fuel cap open' on the dis-
play, screw the cap on again
and close the fuel filler flap.

Automatic switching on of the lights Side lights and dipped beam head- lamps switch on automatically if the
light is poor, or during continuousoperation of the windscreen wipers.
They switch off as soon as the lightbecomes bright enough or the wind-screen wipers stop. Note :in foggy weather, the bright-
ness sensor can detect sufficient
light. As a consequence, the lights
will not come on automatically. This function is active when the vehi-
cle is supplied to the customer.
To switch the function on or off:
 Place the key in the accessories position (1st notch),
 Change the stalk position to 0,
 Press the end of the stalk for morethan two seconds.
Note : after the ignition is switched
off and depending on the brightness,the lights remain on for approximate-ly thirty seconds or until the vehicle islocked. Do not cover the sunshine / brightness sensor located in thecentre of the fascia. It helps toregulate the air conditioning,automatic switching on of thelights and the automatic adjust-ment of the instrument panelbrightness.

The indicator light also comes on assoon as the driver uses the manuallighting controls. If the sunshine / brightness sen-
sor does not function correctly,the system activates the function(the lights come on) and the dippedbeam headlamps indicator light onthe instrument panel flashes.
Contact a PEUGEOT dealer to have the system checked.
Direction indicators (flashers) Left : downwards.
Right : upwards
Note : If you forget to return the
direction indicator to its normal posi-tion, the volume of the audible signalwill increase, if you are driving at aspeed greater than 40 mph (60 km/h). Parking lights The parking lights are lit on the side
the traffic is on.
With the engine switched off, place
the indicator lights stalk on the trafficside (i.e. for parking on the right;switching on of the lights on the left

Do not cover the rain sensor located on thewindscreen behind the
interior mirror. When using an automatic
car wash, switch off the ignition or check that the wiper stalk is not inthe automatic position.
In winter, it is advisable to wait until the windscreen is completelyfree of ice before operating theautomatic wipe.

When the ignition has been switched off for more than aminute with the control in a wipeposition (1, 2 or 3), it is necesaryto reactivate this function. To d o
this, move the stalk to any position,then move it back to the requiredposition. Maintenance position This position enables the wiper blades to be removed.
In the minute following switching off of the ignition, any action on the stalkpositions the wipers in the centre ofthe windscreen so that they may becleaned or replaced.
To park the wipers after this has been done, switch on the ignitionand operate the stalk.
Windscreen and headlamp wash Pull the windscreen wiper stalk
towards you. The windscreen washthen the windscreen wipers operatefor a fixed period. The windscreen wash and headlamp wash operate simultaneously for twoseconds,
only if the headlamps are
on .
Screenwash/headlamp wash low
When the minimum level of the reservoir is reached, thiswarning light comes on,accompanied by an audiblesignal and the message
'Screenwash low' on the multi-func-
tion display. Next time you stop, fill the screen-
wash / headlamp wash reservoir.
If the reservoir is empty, the warning light comes on when the ignition isswitched on, or every time the stalkis operated, until the reservoir isfilled.

Automatic windscreen wiper In position 1, the wiper operates
automatically and adjusts its speed
to the intensity of the rainfall. Operating check Activation
The indicator light comes on, accompanied by an audiblesignal, as soon as the driversets the windscreen wiperstalk to position 1.
Neutralisation When the function is neu-tralised, going from position 1
to another position, the indi-cator light comes on, accom-panied by an audible signal.
In cases of malfunction, the driver
is informed by the message 'Rain
sensor faulty' on the multi-function
display. In position 1, the windscreen wiper
will operate on intermittent wipe.

¥ the route number, ¥ the time which has elapsed since the last zero re-set of the route,
¥ the average speed, ¥ the average consumption,¥ the distance travelled
Ð 'Route 2' with the same features.
The following information is displayed simultaneously at the bottom of thescreen:
Ð the distance that remains to be travelled,
Ð the current range,Ð the current consumption. Zero re-set When the required route is displayed, press the button for more than twoseconds.
Monochrome screen C
Ð the 'vehicle' tab with:
¥ current range and consumption,
Ð tab '1' (route 1) with:
¥ the average consumption, the distance driven and the average speed calcu- lated over route ' 1',
Ð tab '2' (route 2) with the same features.
Zero re-set When the required route is displayed, press the button for more than four seconds.

122Range This shows the distance that can still be covered with the fuel remaining inthe tank. Note: this figure may rise if there is a
change in driving style or road sur- face, causing a significant drop incurrent fuel consumption. Average consumption This is the average fuel consumption since the computer was last set tozero.Distance travelled This indicates the distance travelled since the computer was last set tozero.
YOUR 607 IN DETAIL
Current consumption This is the average fuel consumption during the last few seconds. This function is displayed only when the vehicle is travelling at a speedgreater than 20 mph (30 km/h).
Average speed this is the average speed calculated since the computer was last set tozero (with the ignition on).
The routes Routes 1 and 2 are independent but have identical application. Route 1, for example, allows you to make daily calculations, and route2 monthly calculations. On this page, the illustration on the left represents the mono-
chrome screen C display, the oneon the right the colour screen
display.
After re-setting the trip computer to zero, the range data become signif-icant only after a few seconds ofuse. If horizontal segments are displayed for long periods instead of digits,
contact a PEUGEOT dealer.
