Recirculation motor: Removal - Refitting

REMOVAL
I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
aUnclip the upper storage compartment (1) on the
driver's side using the (Car. 1363).
aRemove the front left-hand side air distribution duct
(see 61A, Heating, Front side air distribution
duct: Removal - Refitting, page 61A-7) .II - OPERATION FOR REMOVAL OF PART
CONCERNED
aDisconnect the connector (2) from the recirculation
motor.
aRemove:
-the bolts (3) from the recirculation motor,
-the recirculation motor.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
aRefit:
-the recirculation motor,
-the recirculation motor bolts.
aConnect the recirculation motor connector.
II - FINAL OPERATION
aRefit the front left-hand side air distribution duct (see
61A, Heating, Front side air distribution duct:
Removal - Refitting, page 61A-7) .
aClip on the upper storage compartment on the driv-
er’s side. Special tooling required
Car. 1363Set of tr im removal levers.

I - REMOVAL PREPARATION OPERATION
aLock the airbag computer using the Diagnostic tool
(see Fault finding - Replacement of components)
(MR 413, 88C, Airbags and seat belt pretensioners).
aDisconnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Re-
fitting) (MR 411, 80A, Battery).
aRemove:
-the passenger's front airbag (see Passenger's
frontal airbag: Removal - Refitting) (MR 411,
88C, Airbag and pretensioners),
-the front side air duct (see 61A, Heating, Front
side air distribution duct: Removal - Refitting,
page 61A-7) .
II - REMOVAL OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
aDisconnect the connector (1) from the recirculation
motor.aRemove:
-the bolts (2) from the recirculation motor,
-the recirculation motor.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
aRefit:
-the recirculation motor,
-the recirculation motor bolts.
aConnect the recirculation motor connector.
II - FINAL OPERATION.
aRefit the front side air duct (see 61A, Heating, Front
side air distribution duct: Removal - Refitting,
page 61A-7) .
aRefit the passenger's front airbag (see Passenger's
frontal airbag: Removal - Refitting) (MR 411, 88C,
Airbag and pretensioners).
aConnect the battery (see Battery: Removal - Refit-
ting) (MR 411, 80A, Battery).
aUnlock the airbag computer using the Diagnostic
tool (see Fault finding - Replacement of compo-
nents) (MR 413, 88C, Airbags and seat belt preten-

aRemove the centre console (see Centre console:
Removal - Refitting) (MR 412, 57A, Interior equip-
ment).
aRemove the radio (see Radio: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 411, 86A, Radio).
aUnclip the glovebox.
aRemove the dashboard lower trim (see Centre front
panel: Removal - Refitting) (MR 412, 57A, Interior
equipment).
aUnclip:
-the fuse access flap (1) ,-the dashboard lower trim.
aDisconnect the connectors from the lower trim on
the dashboard (2) .
aRemove:
-the steering wheel lower cover bolts (3) ,
-the steering wheel lower cover.
aRemove:
-the bolts (4) from the strut,
-the strut. Tightening torquesm

aDisconnect the connector (5) from the mixer motor.
aRemove:
-the bolts (6) from the air mixing motor,
-the air mixing motor.
REFITTING
I - REFITTING OPERATION FOR PART
CONCERNED
aRefit:
-the air mixing motor,
-the air mixing motor bolts.
aConnect the air mixing motor connector.
II - FINAL OPERATION.
aRefit:
-the strut,
-the strut bolt.
aTorque tighten the strut bolts (21 Nm).aRefit:
-the steering wheel lower cover,
-the steering wheel lower cover bolt.
aConnect the connectors to the lower trim on the
dashboard.
aClip on:
-the dashboard lower trim,
-the fuse access flap.
aRefit the dashboard lower trim (see Centre front
panel: Removal - Refitting) (MR 412, 57A, Interior
equipment).
aClip the glovebox in position.
aRefit the radio (see Radio: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 411, 86A, Radio).
aRefit the centre console (see Centre console: Re-
moval - Refitting) (MR 412, 57A, Interior equip-
ment).
aCheck that the air mixing function is operating cor-
rectly.

aRemove the glovebox.

the motor downwards.
aRemove the air mixing motor.
REFITTING

aClip the rod onto the air mixing motor.
aFit the air mixing motor.
aRefit:
-the air mixing motor,
-the air mixing motor bolts.
aConnect the air mixing motor connector.
II - FINAL OPERATION.
aRefit the glovebox.aRefit the radio (see Radio: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 411, 86A, Radio).
aRefit the tweeter speakers (see Tweeter: Removal
- Refitting) (MR 411, 86A, Radio).
aRefit:
-the centre front panel (see Centre front panel: Re-

ment).
-the centre console (see Centre console: Removal

aConnect the connectors to the lower trim on the
dashboard.
aRefit the dashboard lower trim.

equipment).
aClip the glovebox in position.
aRefit the radio (see Radio: Removal - Refitting)
(MR 411, 86A, Radio).
aRefit the centre console (see Centre console: Re-
moval - Refitting) (MR 412, 57A, Interior equip-
ment).
aCheck that the air distribution function is operating
correctly. RADIO NO. 01 or RADIO NO. 03
