downhill.Constantbrakingcausesthe
brakes
tooverheatandcansubstantiallyre-
ducebrakingperformance,increasebraking
distance,orcausecompletefailureofthe
brakesystem.
—Ifyoumuststoponanincline,alwayshold
thevehicleinplacewiththefootbrakeor
parkingbraketopreventitfromrolling
back.
—Neverholdthevehicleonaninclinewitha
slippingclutch.Theclutchopensautomati-
callywhenitbecomestoohotfromtheover-

clutchisoverloaded.
—Iftheenginemustrunwhileyouarework-
ingintheenginecompartmentwiththe

Thehilldescentcontrolsystemassiststhedriver
whendrivingdownhills.
Hilldescentcontrolisactivatedwhentheselec-
torleverisinthe"D" or"S"positionandyou
pressthebrakepedal.Thetransmissionautomat-
icallyselectsagearthatissuitableforthehill.
Hilldescentcontroltriestomaintainthespeed
thatwasselectedatthetimeofbraking,within
physicalandtechnicallimitations.Ifmaystillbe
necessarytoadjustthespeedwiththebrakes.
Becausehilldescentcontrolcannotshiftdown
fartherthan3rdgear,itmaybenecessarytoshift
intotiptronicmodeinverysteepareas.Inthis
case,shiftmanuallyinto1stor2ndgearintip-
tronicmodetouse theengine'sbrakingforce to
relievethebrakes.

Thespeedwarningsystemhelpsyoutostaybe-
low aspecifiedmaximumspeedthatcanbeset,
changedordeletedintheInfotainmentsystem.
Thespeedwarningsystemwarnsyouifyouare
exceeding themaximumspeedthatyouhaveset.
Awarningtonewillsoundassoonasyourspeed
exceedsthestoredvalueslightly.Theoe)in-
dicatorlightandamessagewillappearinthein-
strumentclusterdisplayatthesametime.The
oweindicatorlightandthemessageturnoffif
thespeedfallsbackbelowthestoredmaximum
speed.
Settingathresholdisrecommendedifyouwould
liketoberemindedwhenyoureachacertain
maximumspeed.Situationswhereyoumaywant

mately15mph(20km/h).Thesystemmaintains
thedesiredspeedbybrakingandaccelerating.

responsibleforcontrollingyourvehicle

correctivesteering.Youcanoverridethissteering
atanytime.Ifyoupassoveraline,thesteering
wheelwillvibratelightly.Inorderforthiswarn-
ingvibrationtooccur,itmustfirstbe switched
onintheInfotainmentsystem.Activelaneassist
isreadyforoperationwhenthelanemarkerline
isdetectedonatleastonesideofthevehicle.
Thesystemisdesignedfordrivingonexpress-
waysandhighwaysandsoitonlyactivatesat
speedsaboveapproximately40mph(65km/h)
(dependingonthemarket).

anditclassifiesalanechangeascriticalbecause
ofvehiclestravelingalongsideyouorapproach-

tempttokeepyourvehicleinthelane.
