Let the engine run at idle for three
minutes or more.
To check the fluid hot or cold:
Park your vehicle on a level place.
Place the shift lever in P (Park) with
the parking brake applied.
With your foot on the brake pedal,
move the shift lever through each gear
range, pausing for about three seconds
in each range. Then, position the shift
lever in
P (Park).
Then, without shutting off the engine,
follow these steps:
1. Pull out the dipstick and wipe it with

If the fluid level is low, add only
enough of the proper fluid to bring the
level up into the COLD area for a cold
check or the
HOT area for a hot check.
It doesn’t take much fluid, generally less
than a pint. Don’t overfill. We
recommend you use only fluid labeled
DEXRON@-11, because fluids with that
label are made especially for our
automatic transmission. Damage caused
by fluid other than DEXRON@-I1 is not
covered by your new vehicle warranty.

push the clutch pedal down with your
hand until you feel some resistance to

How to Check Lubricant:
If the level is below the bottom of the

lubricant to raise the level to the bottom

1/2 inch

Adding Coolant
To Check Coolant: When your engine
is cold, the coolant level should be
LOW, or a little higher. When your
engine is warm, the level should be up
to
FULL, or a little higher.
To Add Coolant: If you need more
coolant, add the proper mix
at the
coolant recovery tank.

Windshield Washer Fluid
To Add:
Open the cap with the washer symbol on
it. Add washer fluid until the bottle is
full.
When the engine compartment is hot,
the level should be at the
MAX mark.
When the engine compartment is cool,
the level should be at the
MIN mark.

When adding power steering fluid
or making a complete fluid
change, always use the prope:

To replace the headlight bulb:
1. Open the hood.
2. Press down on the tab and pull
rearward, while holding the headlight
wiring harness, to disconnect
it from
the bulb.

the sidemarker bulb:
1. Push the sidemarker housing toward
the back
of the vehicle and pull out
the front edge. The housing should

4. Reverse the steps with a new bulb.
Rear Sidemarker Lights
To replace the rear sidemarker bulb:
1. Remove the screw (hardtop only).
2. Pull the sidemarker light housing out
3. Turn the socket to the left and pull it
4. Pull the bulb out of the socket.
5. Reverse the steps with a new bulb.
