 Monitoring
On switching on, the dial needles go to the extent of their travel then return to 0. A. With the ignition on, the bars indicate the fuel remaining.
  Instrument panel
1. With the ignition on, the orange and red warning lamps come on. 2. With the hybrid system active, these warning lamps should go off. If a warning lamp remains on, refer to the corresponding section.
  Warning lamps
B. With the ignition on, the instrument panel screen should indicate the oil level. If the levels are not correct, top up the level which is low.

35Hybrid system
         Hybrid4 mode selector
The selector allows the user to choose between 4 drive modes for the vehicle. Turn the dial to the right or left; the mode selected is confirmed by illumination of the corresponding i n d i c a t o r.
ZEV mode, to force electric running.
SPORT mode, to make use of the maximum per formance of the vehicle.
4WD mode, to force the vehicle into 4x4 mode.
AUTO mode, for normal use and optimised fuel consumption.
On starting the vehicle: with the gear selector in position N , press the brake pedal and press the START/STOP button to activate the hybrid system. This lamp comes on when the vehicle is ready to move off ("Auto" mode is on by default) and so the driver can press the accelerator. This lamp comes on more or less instantly but may take a few seconds in some cases (in particular, the time needed for pre-heating the Diesel engine in cold weather or, for example, in energy economy mode, ...).
         Ready lamp
With the vehicle stationary, press the START/STOP button and check that the Ready lamp is off when leaving the vehicle, other wise the hybrid system will still be active.
For more information, refer to the section on "Underbonnet precautions / warnings".

  Sport mode
(Diesel and
electric)
  4WD mode **
(Diesel and
electric)
This mode allows more dynamic driving by providing additional performance . Vehicle acceleration and pick-up are maximised by using the capacity of the electric motor, supplementing the power of the Diesel engine. This mode manages the progressiveness of the accelerator, the electronic gearbox and the use of the electric motor. In Sport mode: - The electric motor can be used up to 70 mph (120 km/h).
This mode provides additional traction *** at low speed by driving all 4 wheels of the vehicle continuously: the Diesel engine (front wheel drive) and the electric motor (rear wheel drive) operate simultaneously and permanently. Their coupling is managed electronically to optimise traction on slippery sur faces. In 4WD mode: - Power for the electric motor is provided, if needed, by the alternator-starter motor of the front engine. The Diesel engine operates continuously. - The additional traction from the electric motor is available up to 75 mph (120 km/h).
In ZEV mode: - Range and acceleration capacity are limited. The maximum speed possible is around 36 mph (60 km/h). - Under high load or a priority requirement causing the start of the Diesel engine, the system changes automatically to AUTO mode.
If the conditions do not allow this mode, a message that the "electric mode is not currently available" appears in the screen. The ZEV warning lamp flashes for a few seconds then goes off and the selector comes on in AUTO.
This mode should be used on snow covered roads or difficult ground (mud, sand, ...). In this mode, in severe conditions and if the circumstances allow, it is recommended that you accelerate strongly to ensure that you move off and avoid any risk of getting stuck. The addition of 4WD traction is available whatever: - the state of charge of the traction battery, - the altitude.
For more information on "Automatic restarting of the Diesel engine or ZEV mode not available", refer to the corresponding section.
** 4WD: 4 Wheel Drive. *** This mode will be even more effective if
suitable tyres are fitted (winter tyres in particular).

         Energy consumption / generation indicator
The indicator dial provides real time information on the total power used, combining electric and Diesel. It comprises three main zones.
Zone which indicates that the vehicle is optimising its energy consumption , electric, Diesel or a combination of both. This zone corresponds to phases of electric running as well as to phases of optimum use of the Diesel engine, which are easily accessible with a suitable driving style (smooth "eco-citizen" driving).
Zone which indicates that the vehicle is in electrical energy recovery phase: on deceleration, braking (partially or particularly with your foot off the accelerator (to use in preference as this gives better energy recovery). This allows the high voltage battery to be recharged using "free" energy which can then be reused for future energy requirements.

49Hybrid system
Consumption of your hybrid in the screen
Average consumption over the last 5 minutes.
"60 % Hybrid Use" corresponds to 60 % of the cumulative running time with the addition of the hybrid system and 40 % of the time with the Diesel engine only (with no contribution from the hybrid system).
For more information on the trip computer, refer to the corresponding section.
Resetting the history
With the hybrid system active, when trip 2 displayed, press the control for 2 seconds to reset the history to zero.

Sidelamps fixed. The lighting stalk is in the "Sidelamps" position.

Dipped beam headlamps fixed. The lighting stalk is in the "Dipped beam headlamps" position.

Main beam headlamps fixed. The lighting stalk is pulled towards you. Pull the stalk to return to dipped beam headlamps.

Front foglamps fixed. The front foglamps are switched on. Turn the ring on the stalk rear wards twice to switch off the front foglamps.
For more information on the lighting controls, refer to the corresponding section.
  Automatic headlamp dipping
fixed. The lighting stalk has been pulled towards you and the button (to the right of the steering wheel) has been pressed. Its warning lamp is on.
The camera, located in the interior rear view mirror, authorises or not switching between main and dipped beam, depending on the exterior lighting and the driving conditions. Pull the lighting stalk to return to dipped beam.
Ready fixed. The vehicle is ready to move off; you can press the accelerator. It comes on once high voltage is established in the vehicle.
Operation indicator lamps
If one of the following indicator lamps comes on in the instrument panel and/or instrument panel screen, this confirms that the corresponding system has come into operation.

Diesel engine pre-heating fixed. The START/STOP switch has been pressed (ignition on). Wait until the warning lamp goes off before starting. Once it goes off, starting is immediate, on condition that the brake pedal remains pressed. The period of illumination of the warning lamp is determined by the ambient conditions (up to about thirty seconds in severe winter conditions). If the engine does not start, switch the ignition off and then on, wait until the warning lamp goes off again, then start the engine.

Electric parking brake fixed. The electric parking brake is applied. Release the electric parking brake to switch off the warning lamp: with your foot on the brake pedal, pull the electric parking brake control lever. Observe the safety recommendations. For more information on the electric parking brake, refer to the corresponding section.

Deactivation of the automatic functions of the electric parking brake
fixed. The "automatic application" (on switching off the engine) and "automatic release" functions are deactivated or faulty.
Activate the function (according to country) via the vehicle configuration menu or contact a CITROËN dealer or a qualified workshop if automatic application / release is not possible. For more information on the electric parking brake, refer to the corresponding section.
