Conseils antipollution, économies de carburant
The manufacturer is acively striving to reduce pollutant exhaust gas emissions and to save energy.
By virtue of its design, moderate fuel consumption and initial settings, your vehicle conforms to current antipollu- tion regulations. Technical design, how- ever, cannot achieve all. The fuel con- sumption of your vehicle and the level of pollutant exhaust gas emissions are very much within your control. Make sure that your vehicle is maintained correctly, and is driven carefully.
Maintenance
It should be noted that failure to respect antipollution regulations may lead to legal action being taken against the vehicle owner. In addition, replacing engine, fuel supply system and exhaust components with parts other than those originally recommended by the manu- facturer may alter your vehicle so that it no longer complies with antipollution regulations.
Have your vehicle checked and ad- justed by your approved dealer in ac- cordance with the instructions in your Maintenance Service Booklet.
Your approved dealer has all the equipment necessary for ensuring that your vehicle is maintained to its original standard.
Engine adjustments
– ignition: this does not require ad- justment.
– spark plugs: for optimum fuel econ- omy, efficiency and performance the specifications laid down by our Design Department must be strictly applied.
If the spark plugs have to be changed, use the make, type and gap specified for your vehicle’s engine. Contact an approved Dealer as soon as possi- ble.
–
idle speed: this does not require ad- justment.
–
air filter, diesel filter: a choked el- ement hinders performance. It must be replaced.

Environnement
ENVIRONMENT
Your vehicle has been designed with the aim of caring for the environment.
– Most versions are equipped with a
particle filter system including a cat- alytic converter, an oxygen sensor and an active carbon filter (the latter prevents vapour from the fuel tank being released into the open air.)
–
These vehicles operate with un- leaded fuel only.
– 87% of the parts in your vehicle
can
be recycled and it already contains parts made using recycled materi- als.
– 95% of the plastic components
in your vehicle are marked with a symbol which allows the principal component material to be identified. These markings mean that parts re- moved can be sorted more easily, making it easier to recycle them.
In addition to this, your vehicle meets the requirements laid down in European legislation relating to environmental protection.
Make your contribution towards pro- tection of the environment too.
Do not dispose of parts replaced in the course of routine vehicle maintenance (battery, oil filter, air filter, etc.) and oil containers (empty or full of used oil) with household waste.
Dispose of them through specialist or- ganisations. In all cases, comply with local legislation.

Repriming the fuel circuit
After filling when the fuel has com- pletely run out, it is necessary to bleed the air or drain the circuit before starting your vehicle.
The peripheral components (alter- nator, starter, engine mountings, etc.) should be protected against splashes of fuel.
When carrying out opera- tions near the engine, re- member it may be hot. The engine cooling fan may also start at any moment.
Risk of injury.
