Menu Structure
Note:Depending on your system, some options may appear slightly
different, not at all or on-screen and able to be selected using the
function buttons.
Press MENU.
Press the up and down arrow buttons to scroll through the options (if
active).
Press the right arrow to enter a menu. Press the left arrow to exit a menu.
Radio Settings
ScanSelect for a brief sampling of all available
channels.
Set CategorySelect to have the system search by certain
music categories (rock, pop, country, etc.).
RBDS/RDS TextSelect to view additional broadcast data, if
available. This feature defaults to off. RBDS
must be on for you to set a category.
SIRIUS
ScanSelect for a brief sampling of all available
channels.
Show ESNSelect to view your satellite radio electronic
serial number (ESN). You will need this number
when communicating with SIRIUSto activate,
modify or track your account.
Channel GuideSelect to view available satellite radio channels.
Press OK to select Tune Channel, Skip Channel
or Lock Channel. Once a channel is skipped or
locked, you can only access it by pressing Direct
and entering the channel number. Locking or
unlocking a channel requires your PIN.
Set CategorySelect to view channel categories (pop, rock,
news, etc.). If you select a category, seek and
scan functions will only stop on channels in that
category.
AlertsSelect to enable/disable an alert for a song,
artist or team. The system alerts you when the
selection is playing on another channel. Save up
to 20 alerts.

SIRIUS
Unlock All StationsUse your PIN to unlock previously locked
stations.
Skip No StationsUse to unskip any channels you previously
skipped.
Parental Lock (PIN)Select to create a PIN which allows you to lock
or unlock channels. Your initial PIN is 1234.
Audio Settings
Spd. Comp. Vol.Automatically adjusts the volume to
compensate for speed and wind noise. You can
set the system between 0 and +7.
SoundAllows you to adjust sound settings, such as
treble, middle, bass, fade and balance.
Occupancy ModeOptimizes sound quality for the chosen seating
position.
CD Settings
Scan AllSelect to scan all disc selections.
Scan FolderSelect to scan all music in the current MP3
folder.
CD CompressionSelect to bring soft and loud passages together
for a more consistent listening level.
Clock Settings
Set TimeSelect to set the time.
Set DateSelect to set the calendar date.
24h ModeSelect to view clock time in a 12–hour mode or
24–hour mode.
Display Settings
DimmingSelect to change display brightness.
LanguageSelect to display the language in English,
French or Spanish.
Temp. SettingSelect to display the outside temperature in
Fahrenheit or Celsius

AM/FM/CD SONY AUDIO SYSTEM

Note:Most of the audio features are controlled through the MyFord
Touchsystem. See theMyFord Touchchapter for more information.
A.VOL/Power:Press to turn the system on and off. Turn to adjust the
volume.
B.Eject:Eject a CD.
C.CD Slot:Insert a CD.
D.TUNE:Search the frequency band in individual increments.
E.Memory presets:Store your favorite stations for later access. When
tuned to any station, press and hold a preset button until sound returns.
F.Seek/Reverse/Fast Forward:
•In radio mode, select a frequency band and press one of the seek
buttons. The system stops at the first station it finds in that direction.

•In SIRIUS mode, select the previous or next channel. If a specific
category is selected, (Jazz, Rock, News, etc.), use the seek buttons
find to the previous or next channel in the selected category.
•In CD mode, select the previous or next track.
G.MEDIA:Access different audio modes, such as AM, FM and A/V Input.
AUXILIARY INPUT JACK

while driving, encourage the use of voice-operated systems when
possible and that you become aware of applicable state and local laws
that may affect use of electronic devices while driving.
WARNING:For safety reasons, do not connect or adjust the
settings on your portable music player while the vehicle is moving.
WARNING:Store the portable music player in a secure location,
such as the center console or the glove box, when the vehicle is
in motion. Hard objects may become projectiles in a collision or sudden
stop, which may increase the risk of serious injury. The audio extension
cable must be long enough to allow the portable music player to be
safely stored while the vehicle is in motion.
The auxiliary input jack (AIJ) allows
you to connect and play music from
your portable music player through
the vehicle speakers. You can use
any portable music player designed
for use with headphones. Your audio
extension cable must have male
18-inch (3.5 millimeter) connectors at
each end.
1. Make sure the vehicle, radio and portable music player are turned off
and the transmission is in positionP.
2. Plug the extension cable from the portable music player into the AIJ.
3. Turn on the radio. Select either a tuned FM station or a CD.
4. Adjust the volume as desired.

5. Turn on your portable music player and adjust its volume to12the
maximum.
6. Press AUX until LINE or LINE IN appears in the display. You should
hear music from your device even if it is low.
7. Adjust the volume on your portable music player until it reaches the
volume level of the FM station or CD. Do this by switching back and
forth between the AUX and FM or CD controls.
USB PORT (IF EQUIPPED)

Potential Satellite Radio Reception Issues
Antenna
obstructionsFor optimal reception performance, keep the
antenna clear of snow and ice build-up and
keep luggage and other material as far away
from the antenna as possible.
TerrainHills, mountains, tall buildings, bridges,
tunnels, freeway overpasses, parking garages,
dense tree foliage and thunderstorms can
interfere with your reception.
Station overloadWhen you pass a ground-based broadcast
repeating tower, a stronger signal may
overtake a weaker one and the audio system
may mute.
Satellite radio signal
interferenceYour display may show ACQUIRING...to
indicate the interference and the audio
system may mute.

Satellite Radio Electronic Serial Number (ESN)
You need your ESN to activate, modify or track your satellite radio
account. When in satellite radio mode, you can view this number by
pressing SIRIUS and memory preset 1 at the same time.

MANUAL HEATING AND AIR CONDITIONING SYSTEM
A.Defrost:Distributes air through the windshield defroster vents and
demister vents. This setting can also be used to defog and clear the
windshield of a thin covering of ice.
B.Rear defrost and heated mirrors:Turns the heated windows and
mirrors on and off. SeeHeated windows and mirrorslater in this
chapter for more information.
C.Air distribution control:Press to set the air distribution to a
position listed below:
Distributes air through the windshield defroster vents, demister
vents and floor vents.
Distributes air through the instrument panel vents.
Distributes air through the instrument panel vents, floor vents,
and demister vents.

D.A/C:Press to turn air conditioning on or off. Air conditioning cools
the vehicle using outside air. To improve air conditioning when starting
your vehicle, drive with the windows slightly open for two to three
minutes.
E.Recirculated air:Press to switch between outside air and
recirculated air. When the LED on the button is lit, the air currently in
the passenger compartment is being recirculated. Using recirculated air
can reduce the time needed to cool the interior and reduce unwanted
odors from entering your vehicle. Even when this button is not selected,
air may still recirculate in some instances in order to reduce vehicle
warm-up time in cold conditions or cool-down time in hot conditions.
Note:For better cooling in hot conditions, recirculated air automatically
engages when the air distribution control is in Panel or Panel/Floor
modes and the air conditioning is on. You can switch to fresh air by
pressing the recirculated air button again.
Note:You may notice changes in sound between recirculated mode and
other airflow modes.
F.MAX A/C:Distributes recirculated air through the instrument panel
vents to cool the vehicle. This position is more economical and efficient
than normal A/C.
G.Temperature control:Controls the temperature of the air circulated
in your vehicle. Turn to select the desired temperature.
H.Fan speed control:Controls the volume of air circulated in your
vehicle. Turn to select the desired fan speed or switch off. If you switch
the fan off, the windshield may fog up.
I.Power:Press to turn the system on and off. When the system is off,
outside air is prevented from entering the vehicle.
