If the booster seat slides on the vehicleseat upon which it is being used, placing arubberized mesh sold as shelf or carpetliner under the booster seat may improvethis condition. Do not use any item thickerthan this under the booster seat. Checkwith the booster seat manufacturer'sinstructions.
CHILD SAFETY LOCKS
WARNING: You cannot open therear doors from inside if you have put thechild safety locks on.
The control is on the driver door. It enablesboth the child safety locks and the rearwindow locks.
Press the control to switch the child safetylocks and the rear window lock on. Pressthe control again to switch them off. A lighton the control illuminates when you switchthem on.
The child lock and rear window locksettings remain active when you switchyour vehicle off.
Note:To make sure the child safety lock ison, pull the inside door handle twice to verifythe door does not open.
Note:To open the rear doors from insidethe vehicle when the child lock is engaged,roll down the rear window and use theoutside door handle. Or have someoneoutside the vehicle open the door.

The Safety Canopy deploys duringsignificant side crashes or when a certainlikelihood of a rollover event is detectedby the rollover sensor. The Safety Canopyis mounted to the roof side rail sheet metal,behind the headliner, above each row ofseats.
In certain sideways crashes or rolloverevents, the Safety Canopy activates,regardless of which seats are occupied.The Safety Canopy is designed to inflatebetween the side window area andoccupants to further enhance protectionprovided in side impact crashes androllover events.
The system consists of:
•Safety Canopy curtain airbags abovethe trim panels over the front and rearside windows. They are identified by alabel or wording on the headliner orroof pillar trim.
•A flexible headliner which opens abovethe side doors to allow air curtaindeployment
•Crash sensors and monitoring systemwith a readiness indicator. See CrashSensors and Airbag Indicator (page63).
Properly restrain children 12 years old andunder in the rear seats. The Safety Canopyairbags will not interfere with childrenrestrained using a properly installed childor booster seat because it is designed toinflate downward from the headliner abovethe doors along the side window opening.
AIRBAG PRECAUTIONS
WARNING: Airbags do not inflateslowly or gently, and the risk of injuryfrom a deploying airbag is the greatestclose to the trim covering the airbagmodule.
WARNING: All occupants of yourvehicle, including the driver, shouldalways properly wear their seatbelts,even when an airbag supplementalrestraint system is provided. Failure toproperly wear your seatbelt couldseriously increase the risk of injury ordeath.
WARNING: Properly securechildren 12 years old and under in a rearseating position whenever possible. Ifyou are unable to properly secure allchildren in a rear seating position,properly secure the largest child on thefront seat. If you must use a forwardfacing child restraint on the front seat,move the seat as far back as possible.Failure to follow these instructions couldresult in personal injury or death.
WARNING: Do not place your armson the airbag cover or through thesteering wheel. Failure to follow thisinstruction could result in personal injury.

WHAT IS KEYLESS ENTRY
The system allows you to lock and unlockyour vehicle without taking the passive keyout of your pocket or purse.
KEYLESS ENTRY LIMITATIONS
Make sure your remote control is within 3 ft(1 m) from the front door handles and thetailgate.
The system could not function if:
•The remote control remains stationaryfor about a minute.
•The vehicle battery has no charge.
•The remote control battery has nocharge.
•There is interference causing issueswith the remote control frequencies.
•The remote control is too close tometal objects or electronic devices, forexample keys or a cell phone.
KEYLESS ENTRY SETTINGS
Switching Keyless Entry On andOff
1.Switch the ignition on using an originalkey that has not been created as aMyKey.
2.
Press the button on thetouchscreen.
3.Press Vehicle.
4.Press Locks.
Reprogramming the UnlockingFunction
You can enable two-stage unlockingfunction allowing you to unlock only thedriver door when you touch the unlocksensor.
Press and hold both the lock and unlockbuttons on the remote control for fourseconds to disable or enable two-stageunlocking.
If you program the unlocking function sothat only the driver door unlocks, you canunlock all of the other doors from insideyour vehicle using the power door lockcontrol. You can unlock individual doorsby pulling the interior door handles onthose doors.

Unlocking the Doors
With your remote control or authorizedphone within 3 ft (1 m) of your vehicle,press the touchpad on the door windowtrim to unlock and open the door.

Opening the Liftgate with PassiveKey (If Equipped)
Press the exterior liftgate release buttoninside the liftgate handle. The liftgateunlocks and opens. See Opening theLiftgate From Outside Your Vehicle(page 99).
Locking the Doors
With your remote control or authorizedphone within 3 ft (1 m) of your vehicle,touch the lock icon on the door windowtrim to lock the door. The keyless entrysystem requires a brief delay toauthenticate your device.
Note:The door activation switch flashesone time to indicate the vehicle locks.
Note:Do not use the outside door handleas a roof cargo strap.

KEYLESS ENTRY – FREQUENTLYASKED QUESTIONS
Why does the keyless entry system notfunction?
If the system does not function it maybe limited. See Using Keyless Entry(page 85). If the system still does notfunction use the remote control or thekey blade to lock and unlock yourvehicle.
Why can I not lock my vehicle?
If you electronically lock your vehiclewith a rear door or the liftgate open,the system searches for a passive keyinside your vehicle after you close thelast door. If the system detects a key,all doors unlock indicating that a keyis inside. Your vehicle locks if anotherpassive key is within the detectionrange after you close the last door.
