High Series Lamps: Use a 6 mm hex key orPhillips PH1 screwdriver to adjust.
6.Repeat Steps 3 through 5 to adjust theother headlamp.

Horizontal Aim Adjustment

WAXING YOUR VEHICLE
Wax the high-gloss painted surface of yourprewashed vehicle once or twice a year.
We recommend that you only use anapproved quality wax that does notcontain abrasives. Follow themanufacturer's instructions to apply andremove the wax. For additional informationand assistance, we recommend that youcontact an authorized dealer.
When washing and waxing, park yourvehicle in a shaded area out of directsunlight.
Note:Avoid waxing unpainted or low-glossblack colored parts, they discolor over time.

PREPARING YOUR VEHICLE
FOR STORAGE
If you plan on storing your vehicle for 30days or more, the following maintenancerecommendations ensures your vehiclestays in good operating condition.
Under various conditions, long-termstorage may lead to degraded engineperformance or failure unless you usespecific precautions to preserve yourvehicle.
General
•Store all vehicles in a dry, ventilatedplace.
•If vehicles are stored outside, theyrequire regular maintenance to protectagainst rust and weather damage.
•Make sure all linkages, cables, leversand pins under your vehicle are coveredwith grease to prevent rust.
•Move vehicles at least 25 ft (7.5 m)every 15 days to lubricate working partsand prevent corrosion.
•Fill the fuel tank with high-quality fueluntil the first automatic shutoff of thefuel pump nozzle.
Engine
•Change the engine oil and filter prior tostorage because used engine oilcontains contaminants which maycause engine damage.
•Start the engine every 15 days for aminimum of 15 minutes. Run at fastidle with the climate controls set todefrost until the engine reaches normaloperating temperature.
•With your foot on the brake, shiftthrough all the gears while the engineis running.
Body
•Wash your vehicle thoroughly toremove dirt, grease, oil, tar or mud fromexterior surfaces, rear wheel housingsand the underside of front fenders.
•Periodically wash your vehicle if it isstored in exposed locations.
•Touch-up exposed or primed metal toprevent rust.
•Cover chrome and stainless steel partswith a thick coat of auto wax to preventdiscoloration. Rewax as necessarywhen you wash your vehicle.
•Lubricate all hood, door and luggagecompartment hinges and latches witha light grade oil.
•Cover interior trim to prevent fading.
•Keep all rubber parts free from oil andsolvents.
12 Volt Battery
•When storing your vehicle for longerthan 30 days the state of chargeshould be approximately 50%.Additionally, we recommend todisconnect the 12v battery to reducesystem loads on the battery, or you canuse a trickle charger for longer storageperiods.
•Check and recharge as necessary. Keepconnections clean.
Note:It is necessary to reset memoryfeatures if you disconnect the batterycables.

Tire Quality Grades apply to newpneumatic passenger car tires.The Quality grades can be foundwhere applicable on the tiresidewall between tread shoulderand maximum section width. Forexample: Treadwear 200Traction AA Temperature A.
These Tire Quality Grades aredetermined by standards that theUnited States Department ofTransportation has set.
Tire Quality Grades apply to newpneumatic passenger car tires.They do not apply to deep tread,winter-type snow tires,space-saver or temporary usespare tires, light truck or LT typetires, tires with nominal rimdiameters of 10 to 12 inches orlimited production tires as definedin Title 49 Code of FederalRegulations Part 575.104 (c)(2).
U.S. Department ofTransportation Tire qualitygrades: The U.S. Department ofTransportation requires us to giveyou the following informationabout tire grades exactly as thegovernment has written it.
Treadwear
The treadwear grade is acomparative rating based on thewear rate of the tire when testedunder controlled conditions on aspecified government test course.For example, a tire graded 150would wear 1½ times as well onthe government course as a tiregraded 100. The relativeperformance of tires dependsupon the actual conditions of theiruse, however, and may departsignificantly from the norm due tovariations in driving habits, servicepractices, and differences in roadcharacteristics and climate.

Information on P Type Tires
P215/65R15 95H is an example of
a tire size, load index and speedrating. The definitions of theseitems are listed below. (Note thatthe tire size, load index and speedrating for your vehicle may bedifferent from this example.)
A.P: Indicates a tire, designatedby the Tire and Rim Association,that may be used for service oncars, sport utility vehicles,minivans and light trucks.Note: Ifyour tire size does not begin witha letter this may mean it isdesignated by either the EuropeanTire and Rim TechnicalOrganization or the Japan TireManufacturing Association.
B.215: Indicates the nominalwidth of the tire in millimetersfrom sidewall edge to sidewalledge. In general, the larger thenumber, the wider the tire.
C.65: Indicates the aspect ratiowhich gives the tire's ratio ofheight to width.
D.R: Indicates a radial type tire.
E.15: Indicates the wheel or rimdiameter in inches. If you changeyour wheel size, you will have topurchase new tires to match thenew wheel diameter.
F.95: Indicates the tire's loadindex. It is an index that relates tohow much weight a tire can carry.You may find this information inyour owner’s manual. If not,contact a local tire dealer.
Note:You may not find thisinformation on all tires because itis not required by federal law.
G.H: Indicates the tire's speedrating. The speed rating denotesthe speed at which a tire isdesigned to be driven for extendedperiods of time under a standardcondition of load and inflationpressure. The tires on your vehiclemay operate at differentconditions for load and inflationpressure. These speed ratings mayneed to be adjusted for thedifference in conditions. Theratings range from 81 mph(130 km/h) to 186 mph
(299 km/h). These ratings arelisted in the following chart.

LT type tires have some additionalinformation beyond those of Ptype tires; these differences aredescribed below.
A.LT: Indicates a tire, designatedby the Tire and Rim Association,that is intended for service on lighttrucks.
B.Load Range and LoadInflation Limits: Indicates thetire's load-carrying capabilitiesand its inflation limits.
C.Maximum Load Dual lb (kg)at psi (kPa) cold: Indicates themaximum load and tire pressurewhen the tire is used as a dual,defined as four tires on the rearaxle (a total of six or more tires onthe vehicle).
D.Maximum Load Single lb(kg) at psi (kPa) cold: Indicatesthe maximum load and tirepressure when the tire is used asa single, defined as two tires(total) on the rear axle.

GLOSSARY OF TIRE
TERMINOLOGY
*Tire label: A label showing theoriginal equipment tire sizes,recommended inflation pressureand the maximum weight thevehicle can carry.
*Tire Identification Number(TIN): A number on the sidewallof each tire providing informationabout the tire brand andmanufacturing plant, tire size anddate of manufacture. Also referredto as DOT code.
*Inflation pressure: A measureof the amount of air in a tire.
*Standard load: A class ofP-metric or Metric tires designedto carry a maximum load at setpressure. For example: ForP-metric tires 35 psi (2.4 bar) andfor Metric tires 36 psi (2.5 bar).Increasing the inflation pressurebeyond this pressure will not
increase the tire’s load carryingcapability.
*Extra load: A class of P-metricor Metric tires designed to carry aheavier maximum load at 42 psi(2.9 bar). Increasing the inflationpressure beyond this pressure willnot increase the tire’s loadcarrying capability.
*kPa: Kilopascal, a metric unit ofair pressure.
*PSI: Pounds per square inch, astandard unit of air pressure.
*Cold tire pressure: The tirepressure when the vehicle hasbeen stationary and out of directsunlight for an hour or more andprior to the vehicle being driven for1 mi (1.6 km).
*Recommended inflationpressure: The cold inflationpressure found on the SafetyCompliance Certification Label(affixed to either the door hingepillar, door-latch post, or the dooredge that meets the door-latchpost, next to the driver's seatingposition), or Tire Label located onthe B-Pillar or the edge of thedriver door.
* B-pillar: The structural memberat the side of the vehicle behindthe front door.
*Bead area of the tire: Area ofthe tire next to the rim.
* Sidewall of the tire: Areabetween the bead area and thetread.

1. Make sure the tires are cool,meaning they are not hot fromdriving even a mile.
Note:If you are checking tirepressure when the tire is hot, (forexample, driven more than 1 mile[1.6 kilometers]), never bleed orreduce air pressure. The tires arehot from driving and it is normal forpressures to increase aboverecommended cold pressures. Ahot tire at or below recommendedcold inflation pressure could besignificantly under-inflated.
2. Remove the cap from the valveon one tire, then firmly press thetire gauge onto the valve andmeasure the pressure.
3. Add enough air to reach therecommended air pressure.
Note:If you overfill the tire, releaseair by pressing on the metal stemin the center of the valve. Thenrecheck the pressure with your tiregauge.
4. Replace the valve cap.
5. Repeat this procedure for eachtire, including the spare.
Note:Some spare tires operate ata higher inflation pressure than theother tires. For T type mini-sparetires, (see the Dissimilar sparewheel and tire assemblyinformation for a description. Storeand maintain at 60 psi(4.15 bar)60 psi (4.15 bar). Forfull-size and dissimilar spare tires,see the Dissimilar spare wheel andtire assembly information for adescription. Store and maintain atthe higher of the front and rearinflation pressure as shown on theSafety Compliance CertificationLabel or Tire Label.
Note:Do not reduce tire pressureto change the ride characteristicsof the vehicle. If you do notmaintain the inflation pressure atthe levels specified by Ford, yourvehicle may experience a conditionknown as shimmy. Shimmy is asevere vibration and oscillation inthe steering wheel after the vehicletravels over a bump or dip in theroad that does not dampen out byitself. Shimmy may result fromsignificant under-inflation of thetires, improper tires (load range,size, or type), or vehiclemodifications such as lift-kits. Inthe event that your vehicleexperiences shimmy, you shouldslowly reduce speed by either liftingoff the accelerator pedal or lightlyapplying the brakes. The shimmywill cease as the vehicle speeddecreases.

This type of tire utilizes steel cordsin the sidewalls. As such, theycannot be treated like normal lighttruck tires. Tire service, includingadjusting tire pressure, must beperformed by personnel trained,supervised and equippedaccording to Federal OccupationalSafety and Health Administrationregulations. For example, during
any procedure involving tireinflation, the technician orindividual must utilize a remoteinflation device, and ensure thatall persons are clear of thetrajectory area.
WARNING: Always inflatesteel carcass tires with a remoteair fill with the person inflatingstanding at a minimum of 12 ft(3.66 m) away from the wheeland tire assembly.

REPAIRS - WHEREVERPOSSIBLE, SEE YOUR TIRERETAILER AT ONCE
If any tire sustains a puncture,have the tire demounted andthoroughly inspected by a tireretailer for possible damage thatmay have occurred. A tread areapuncture in any passenger or lighttruck tire can be repaired providedthat the puncture hole is not morethan 1/4” in diameter, not morethan one radial cable per casingply is damaged, and the tire hasnot been damaged further by thepuncturing object or by runningunderinflated. Tire puncturesconsistent with these guidelinesshould only be repaired byfollowing the US TireManufacturers Association(USTMA) recommended repairprocedures. Plug-only repairsdone on-the-wheel are consideredimproper and therefore, notrecommended. Such repairs arenot reliable and may cause furtherdamage to the tire.
STORAGE
Tires contain waxes andemollients to protect their outersurfaces from ozone and weatherchecking. As the tire rolls andflexes, the waxes and emollientscontinually migrate to the surface,replenishing this protectionthroughout the normal use of thetire. Consequently, when tires situnused for long periods of time (amonth or more) their surfaces
become dry and more susceptibleto ozone and weather checkingand the casing becomessusceptible to flat spotting.Forthis reason, tires should alwaysbe stored in a cool, dry, clean,indoor environment. If storageis for one month or more,eliminate the weight from thetires by raising the vehicle or byremoving the tires from thevehicle. Failure to store tires inaccordance with theseinstructions could result indamage to your tires orpremature aging of the tiresand sudden tire failure.
When tires are stored, be sure theyare placed away from sources ofheat and ozone such as directsunlight, hot pipes and electricgenerators. Be sure that surfaceson which tires are stored are cleanand free from grease, gasoline orother substances, which coulddeteriorate the rubber. Failure tostore tires in accordance withthese instructions could result indamage to your tires or prematureaging of the tires and sudden tirefailure.
