o Insert the CD with the label facing
upward.
o Insert the CD to start CD playback, during radio operation.
o If you press the CD button while a
disc is in the CD deck, the CD player will begin playing even if the radio player is being used.
o The CD player can be used when the ignition switch is in either the “ON” or“ACC” position.
o Push the CD button to start CD playback without pushing power ON-OFF control knob. (Only when a CDis in the deck.)
NOTE :
o Do not stick paper or tape etc., on the label side or the recording side of any discs, as it may cause a malfunction.
o The unit can play a multi-session CD-R (recordable CD) and CD-RW(rewritable CD) that consists of more than two sessions.Please refer to the manual of CD- R/CD-RW recorder or CD-R/CD-RW software for more information onfinalization process. o Depending on the recording sta-
tus, some CD-Rs/CD-RWs may notbe played on this unit.
o Playback of MP3 and WMA file formats are supported. Load toplay time for these formats may belonger due to the compressed nature of these discs.
AUX Select Button Listening to the external player con- nected to AUX-IN
o Connect the external player to AUX- IN.
o Press CD/AUX button to turn to AUX- IN.
o You can enjoy the music played in
the external player through the auto mobile speaker. NOTE :
o If the AUX device is not connected,
you cannot switch to AUX-IN mode.
o When the AUX device is discon-
nected while in AUX-IN mode, the unit automatically switches its mode to last selected mode (CDmode or RADIO mode).
o The quality of sound may be de-
fected or distorted when the unit'sEQ control and AUX device's EQ control are both enabled (not flat). When you want to use the unit'sEQ control feature, disable the AUX device's EQ control feature, and vice versa.
o When using a portable audio de- vice connected to the power out-let, noise may occur during play-back. If this happens, use the power source of the portable audio de- vice.

2. TRACK UP/DOWN Button
o The desired track on the disc cur-
rently being played can be selected using the track number.
o Press button once to skip forward
to the beginning of the next track.Press within a second after play- back begins to quickly move back- ward through a CD.If you press after more than a second, it will take you to the begin- ning of the file you are now listeningto.
3. FF/REW Button If you want to fast forward or reverse through the compact disc track, push and hold the FF or REW button. When you release the button, the com-pact disc player will resume playing. 4. REPEAT (RPT) Button
o To repeat the track you are currently listening to, press the RPT button. To cancel, press it again.
o To repeat the music within selected folder, press the RPT button for morethan 1 second. Beep sound will beheard depressing the button. To cancel, press it again (MP3 CD only).
o If you do not release RPT operation
when the track ends, it will automati-cally be replayed. This process will be continued untilyou push the button again or turn the power OFF then ON.
5. RANDOM (RDM) Button
o Press the RDM button to listen to recorded tracks in random sequence. Press RDM again to cancel or turn the audio unit OFF then ON. The unit defaults to playing tracks in sequen-tial order.
o To listen the music within the se-
lected folder in random order, pressthe RDM button within a second. Press the button more than a second to play all tracks randomly on thedisc. To cancel, press it again or or turn the power OFF then ON (MP3 CD only).
6. PAUSE (II) Button Press the PAUSE (ll) button to pause the disc. 7. SCROLL (SCR) Button When the CD is playing, you can scroll through long file names by pressing theSCR button for approximately one sec- ond. The file name will appear on the LCD for about three seconds. 8. EQ Button Press the EQ button to select the CLAS- SIC, POPS, ROCK, JAZZ and OFFMODE for the desired tone quality. Each press of the button changes the display as follows; 9. CD EJECT Button When the
button is pressed with a CD
loaded, the CD will eject. Forcing to eject : To force to eject a CD, press this button for more than 2 sec-onds. (Do this only when a CD is jammed and you can not eject it in the normal way.) CLASSIC

C310B01JM-AAT ESP ON/OFF Mode When the ESP is operating, the ESP indicator in the instrument cluster will blink. If you turn the system off by pressingthe ESP switch, the ESP-OFF indica- tor will come on and stay on. In the ESP-OFF mode, the stability controlwill be deactivated. Adjust your driving accordingly. To turn the system back on, press the switch again. The ESP-OFF indicator should go off. NOTE: The ESP mode will automatically be turned ON after the engine is turned off and restarted. C310D01JM-AAT Indicators and Warning The indicators should illuminate when the ignition key is turned to ON orSTART but should go out after three seconds. If the indicators do not illuminate, or theESP or ESP-OFF indicator does not go out after 3 seconds, have the vehicle checked by an authorized dealer. Should there be any unusual conditions in the device while driving, ESP-OFFindicator illuminates as a warning. If ESP-OFF indicator illuminates, pull your car to a safe place and stop theengine. Then, start the engine again to check if the ESP-OFF indicator goes out. If the indicator remains lit even after the engine has been started, have your carchecked by an authorized Hyundai dealer.
C140A02A-GAT DRIVING FOR ECONOMY You can save fuel and get more kilo- meters from your car if you followthese suggestions:
o Drive smoothly. Accelerate at a
moderate rate. Don't make "jack- rabbit" starts or full-throttle shifts and maintain a steady cruisingspeed. Don't race between stop- lights. Try to adjust your speed to that of the other traffic so you don'thave to change speeds unneces- sarily. Avoid heavy traffic whenever possible.Always maintain a safe distance from other vehicles so you can avoid unnecessary braking. This also re-duces brake wear.
o Drive at a moderate speed. The faster
you drive, the more fuel your caruses. Driving at a moderate speed, especially on the highway, is one of the most effective ways to reducefuel consumption.

5) Avoid rapid acceleration and maxi-
mum throttle openings.
6) Avoid harsh braking during the first 100 miles of urban motoring or 1,000 miles of motorway driving to allow the friction facings of the brake padsand shoes to bed against the discs and drums properly.
7) No trailer towing should be under- taken during the running-in period.

mum engine speed should be re- stricted to 3,000 rpm and gradually increased thereafter.
3) Avoid prolonged constant speed op- eration. The internal components ofthe engine will become more quickly run in if the operation speed is variedduring the running-in period.
4) Never allow the engine to labour. Use
the gearbox freely and avoid largethrottle openings when the engine speed is below 1,500 rpm.

o The door can be locked or unlocked
with a key.

B880C02A-EAT Key Numbers The vehicle key number is recorded on a metal tag attached to the keys when the vehicle is first delivered to you.The key number should be recorded and kept in a safe place in case the need to order further keys arises. Newkeys are available from any Hyundai authorised repairer by quoting the rel- evant key number.In the interest of security, the metal tag attached to the keys which bears the key number should be removed fromthe key ring after you receive your new vehicle. In addition, key numbers cannot beprovided by Hyundai for security rea- sons.

!WARNING:
o Unlocked doors can be danger- ous. Before you drive away (espe- cially if there are children in the car), be sure that all the doors are securely closed and locked so that the doors cannot be inadvert- ently opened from the inside. Thishelps ensure that doors will not be opened accidentally. Also, when combined with the proper use ofseat belts, locking the doors helps keep occupants from being ejected from the car in case of an accident.
o Before opening the door, always look for and avoid oncoming traf-fic.
o In case of accident the door is unlocked automatically (Not allmodels).

o To help prevent theft, always re-
move the ignition key, close all windows, and lock all doors andhatchback door when leaving your vehicle unattended.
B040C01FC-GAT Locking From the Outside The doors can be locked without a key. To lock the doors from the outside, first push the inside lock switch to the"LOCK" position, so that the red mark on the switch is not visible, then close the door.The door will not lock if the key is left in the ignition switch when the front doors close. This is normal. (Not all models) NOTE:
o When locking the door this way,
be careful not to lock the door with the ignition key left in thevehicle.
HTB062-D SB040D1-F Locking from the Inside To lock the doors from inside, simply close the door and push the lock switchto the "LOCK" position. When this is done, the door cannot be opened using either the inside or theoutside door handle. NOTE: When the door is locked, the red mark on the switch is not visible andthe character "LOCK" on the switch is visible.

LOCK SB040F2-E CHILD-PROOF REAR DOOR LOCK The rear doors are fitted with child proof locks to prevent accidental opening of the doors using the inside door handle, whilst allowing access by means of the outside handle (such as is required in the event of an acccident for example) provided that the door lock button is at the unlocked position. Use of the child proof lock mechanism is recommended when children are carried in the vehicle. The child proof lock mechanism may be activated by opening the door and moving the lever located by the door latch to the "

B070A01A-EAT ANTI-THEFT ALARM SYSTEM (Not all models) This system is designed to provide protection from unauthorized entry intothe car. This system is operated in three stages: the first is the "Armed" stage, the second is the "Alarm" stage,and the third is the "Disarmed" stage. If triggered, the system provides an au- dible alarm with blinking of the turnsignal lights. Park the car and stop the engine. Arm the system as described below.
1) Remove the ignition key from the
ignition switch.
2) Make sure that the engine bonnet ,
doors and hatchback door are closed.
3) Lock the doors using the transmitter
of the keyless entry system.
After completion of the steps above, the turn signal lights will blink once toindicate that the system is armed.

o When the door is unlocked, the
red mark on the switch is visible and the character "LOCK" on theswitch is visible.
o The central door locking is oper-
ated by turning the key (with theft-alarm system: driver's door and passenger's door, without theft- alarm system: driver's door only)toward the front or rear of the vehicle.
o If the door is locked/unlocked mul- tiple times in rapid successionwith either the vehicle key or door lock switch, the system may stopoperating temporarily in order to protect the circuit and prevent damage to system components.

The central door locking is operated by pushing the driver's door lock switch toward the front or rear of the vehicle. Ifthe passenger and rear doors are open when the switch is pushed, the door will remain locked when closed. NOTE:
o When pushing the switch toward the rear, all doors and tail gate will unlock.When pushing the switch toward the front, all doors and tail gate will lock.

The power windows operate when the ignition key is in the "ON" position. The main switches are located on the driver's armrest and control the front and rearwindows on both sides of the vehicle. The windows may be opened by de- pressing the appropriate window switchand closed by pulling up the switch. To open the window on the driver's side, press the switch(1) down. The windowmoves as long as the switch is oper- ated.
WARNING:
When opening or closing the win- dows, make sure your passenger's head, hair, arms and hands are safely out of the way.

4. Before removing the battery note its position and ensure the new battery is fitted the same + side (positive) facing upwards, then insert it into the transmitter.

Sitting in a reclined position or lying down when your vehicle is in motion can be dangerous. Even if you buckleup, your seat belts can't do their job when you're reclined. The shoulder belt can't do its jobbecause it won't be against your body. Instead, it will be in front of you. In a crash you could go into itwith great force, receiving serious neck or other injuries. The lap belt can't do its job either. Ina crash the belt could go up over your abdomen. The belt forces would be applied there, not at your strongpelvic bones. This could cause seri- ous internal injuries. For proper protection when the ve-hicle is in motion, have the seatback upright. Then sit back in the seat and wear your seat belt properly. Seepage 1-22.

SB090H1-E CARE OF SEAT BELTS Seat belt assemblies must never be disassembled or modified in any way.In addition, care should be exercised to ensure that the belt assemblies do not become damaged by being trapped inseat mechanisms, door shuts etc. SB090I-E Periodic Inspection It is recommended that all seat belts be inspected periodically for wear or dam-age of any kind. Parts of the system that are damaged should be replaced as soon as possible. Under no circum-stances must any part of the seat belt assemblies be dismantled or repairered. SB090J1-E Keep Belts Clean and Dry Seat belts should be kept clean and dry. If belts become dirty, they can be cleaned using a mild soap solution and warm water. Bleach, dye, strong deter-gents or abrasives should not be used since the fabric may become damaged and weakened.

ABS SERVICE REMINDER INDICATOR(SRI) (Not all models)
When the key is turned to the "ON" position, the Anti-Lock Brake System SRI will come on and then go off in aapproimately seconds. If the ABS SRI remains on, comes on while driving, or does not come on when the key isturned to the "ON" position, this indi- cates that there may be a problem with the ABS.If this occurs, have your vehicle checked by your Hyundai authorised repairer as soon as possible. The nor-mal braking system will still be opera- tional, but without the assistance of the anti-lock brake system. SB210E1-E
OVERDRIVE OFF INDI CATORLIGHT(Not all models)
When the overdrive (4th gear) switch is turned off and the operation of overdrive (4th gear) is cancelled, the overdrivewarning light (O/D OFF) will be illumi- nated. When the switch is at the on position, the gearbox will operate in thenormal fully automatic mode and the warning light will be extinguished. B260D01A-AAT
Turn Signal Indicator Lights
The blinking green arrows on the instru- ment panel show the direction indicated by the turn signals. If the arrow comeson but does not blink, blinks more rapidly than normal, or does not illumi- nate at all, a malfunction in the turnsignal system is indicated. Your Hyundai authorised repairerer should be consulted for repairers.
WARNING:
If the both ABS SRI and ParkingBrake/Brake fluid level warning lights remain "ON" or come on while driv- ing, there may be a problem withE.B.D (Electronic brake force distri- bution). If this occurs, avoid sudden stopsand have your vehicle checked by your Hyundai authorised repairer as soon as possible.
SB210J1-E HIGH BEAM INDICATOR LIGHT
The high beam indicator light will illumi- nate whenever the headlights are switched to high beam of flash position.
