Alwayskeep the headlight beam at the proper levelingposition, or headlights may dazzle other roadusers.Listed below are the examples of proper switchsettings. For loading conditions other than thoselisted below, adjust the switch position so thatthe beam level may be the nearest as thecondition obtained according to the list.

o Place the drink holder in its original po- sition while not in use.

The sunroof can be tilted by pushing the button with the sunroof closed. Release the buttonwhen the sunroof reaches the desired position.

The sunroof can be only electrically opened or closed. To open or to close, press and hold thebutton located in the front overhead console.Release the button when the sunroof reachesthe desired position.

WARNING:
o Do not close a sunroof if anyone's hands,
arms or body are between the slidingglass and the sunroof sash, as this couldresult in an injury.
o Do not place your head or arms out of the sunroof opening at any time.
CAUTION:
o Do not open the sunroof in severely cold temperature or when it is covered withice or snow.
o Periodically remove any dirt that may have accumulated on the guide rails.

The interior courtesy light has a button of three positions. The three positions are:
oDR In the "DR" position, the interior courtesy light comes on when any door is opened regardlessof the ignition key position. The light goes outwhen the door is closed.
oON In the "ON" position, the light stays on at all times.
o OFF In the "OFF" position, the light stays off at all times even though a door is open.

The outside rearview mirrors can be adjusted to your preferred rear vision, both directly behindthe vehicle, and to the rear of the left and rightsides.The remote control outside rearview mirrorswitch controls the adjustments for both rightand left outside mirrors.

The multi box may be opened by pulling it out by its grip.It is used for storing small articles.If the multi box is removed, the fuse box for thelights and other electrical accessories will beexposed.

To adjust the position of either mirror:
1. Move the selecting switch to the right or left
to activate the adjustable mechanism for the corresponding door mirror.
2. Now, adjust mirror angle by depressing the appropriate perimeter switch as illustrated.
CAUTION:
o Do not operate the switch continuously for an unnecessary length of time.
o Scraping ice from the mirror face could cause permanent damage. To removeany ice, use a sponge, soft cloth or ap-proved de-icer.
WARNING:Be careful when judging the size or distanceof any object seen in the passenger siderear view mirror. It is a convex mirror with acurved surface. Any objects seen in thismirror are closer than they appear.

To fold the outside rearview mirrors, push them towards the rear.The outside rearview mirrors can be foldedrearward for parking in narrow areas. WARNING: Do not adjust or fold the outside rearviewmirrors while the vehicle is moving. Thiscould result in loss of control, and an acci-dent which could cause death, serious in-jury or property damage.

The outside rearview mirror heater is actuated in connection with the rear window defroster.To heat the outside rearview mirror glass, pushin the switch for the rear window defroster. Therearview mirror glass will be heated for defrost-ing or defogging and will give you improved rearvision in inclement weather conditions. Pushthe switch again to turn the heater off. Theoutside rearview mirror heater automaticallyturns itself off after 20 minutes.

Your Hyundai is equipped with a day/night inside rearview mirror. The "night" position isselected by flipping the tab at the bottom of themirror toward you. In the "night" position, theglare of headlights of cars behind you is re-duced.

In addition to the lower-mounted rear stop lights on either side of the car, the high mounted rearstop light in the center of the rear window orinserted in the rear spoiler also lights when thebrakes are applied.
Always engage the parking brake before leav-ing the car. This also turns on the parking brakeindicator light when the key is in the "ON" or"START" position. Before driving away, be surethat the parking brake is fully released and theindicator light is off.
o To engage the parking brake, pull the lever
up as far as possible.
o To release the parking brake, pull up the lever and press the thumb button. Then, while holding the button in, lower the brakelever.

CAUTION: Make sure that the support rod has beenreleased prior to closing the hood. WARNING:
o Always double check to be sure that the hood is firmly latched before drivingaway. If it is not latched, the hood couldfly open while the vehicle is being driven,causing a total loss of visibility, whichmight result in an accident.
o The support rod must be inserted com- pletely into the hole provided in the hoodwhenever you inspect the engine com-partment. This will prevent the hood fromfalling and possibly injuring you.
o Do not move the vehicle with the hood in the raised position, as vision is ob-structed and the hood could fall or bedamaged.

1. Pull the release knob to unlatch the hood.
2. Push the safety catch lever sidewards and lift the hood.
3. Hold the hood open with the support rod. Before closing the hood, return the support rod to its clip to prevent it from rattling. Lower thehood until it is about 30 cm (1 ft.) above theclosed position and let it drop. Make sure thatit locks into place.

Ifyou need to replace the filler cap, use agenuine Hyundai replacement part.If you open the fuel filler cap during highambient temperatures, a slight "pressuresound" may be heard. This is normal andnot a cause for concern.Whenever you open the fuel filler cap, turn
it slowly.

The fuel-filler lid may be opened from inside the vehicle by pulling up on the fuel-filler lid openerlocated on the front floor area on the left side ofthe car. NOTE: If the fuel-filler lid will not open because icehas formed around it, tap lightly or push onthe lid to break the ice and release the lid. Donot pry on the lid. If necessary, spray aroundthe lid with an approved de-icer fluid (do notuse radiator anti-freeze) or move the vehicleto a warm place and allow the ice to melt.

o The tail gate is opened by pulling the outside handle up, raising the tail gate manually.
