Sunroof Opening and Closing
To open:
Press the sunroof control lever back-
ward to the first detent position.
Release the switch when you want
the sunroof to stop.
To close:
Press the sunroof control lever forward
to the first detent position. Release the
switch when you want the sunroof to
stop.
Sliding the Sunroof
Pressing the sunroof control lever
backward or forward momentarily tothe second detent position complete-
ly opens or closes the sunroof even
when the switch is released. To stopthe sunroof at the desired position
while the sunroof is in operation,
press the sunroof control lever back-
ward or forward and release the
switch.Information
To minimize wind noise while driving,
it is recommended that you drive with
the sunroof slightly closed (stop the
sunroof about 7 cm (3 inch) before the
maximum slide open position).
Automatic reverse (if equipped)
If the sunroof senses any obstacle
while it is closing automatically, it will
reverse direction then stop to allowthe object to be cleared.
The auto reverse function does not
work if a small obstacle is betweenthe sliding glass and the sunroofsash.
You should always check that all pas-
sengers and objects are away from
the sunroof before closing it.

Resetting the Sunroof
Sunroof needs to be reset if the fol-
lowing occurs :
- Battery is discharged or discon-nected or the related fuse has been replaced or disconnected
- The one-touch sliding function of the sunroof does not normally oper-ate
Reset procedure :
1. Place the POWER button to the ON position or start the vehicle
( indicator ON). It is recom-mended to reset the sunroof while
the vehicle is in the ready ( )
mode.
2. Push the control lever forward. The sunroof will close completelyor tilt depending on the condition
of the sunroof.
3. Release the control lever when the sunroof stops moving. 4. Push the control lever forward
about 10 seconds.
- When the sunroof is in the closed position :
The glass will tilt and slightly move up and down.
- When the sunroof is in the tilt position:
The glass will slightly move up and down.
Do not release the lever until the
operation is completed.
If you release the lever during opera-
tion, start the procedure again fromstep 2.
5. Within 3 seconds, push and hold the control lever forward until the
sunroof operates as follows:
Tilt down Slide Open Slide
Close. Do not release the lever until the
operation is completed.
If you release the lever during opera-
tion, start the procedure again fromstep 2.
6. Release the sunroof control lever
after all steps have completed. The sunroof system has been reset.
Information
If the sunroof is not reset when the vehicle battery is disconnected or
discharged, or the sunroof fuse is
blown, the sunroof may not operate
normally.

Sunroof Open Warning (if equipped)
If the driver turns off the vehiclewhen the sunroof is not fully closed,
the warning chime will sound for
approximately 3 seconds and the
sunroof open warning will appear
on the LCD display.
If the driver turns off the vehicle and opens the door when the sunroof isnot fully closed, the open sunroof
warning will appear on the LCD dis-
play until the door is closed or thesunroof is fully closed.
Close the sunroof securely when
leaving your vehicle.

Hood
Opening the hood
1. Park the vehicle and set the park-ing brake.
2. Pull the release lever to unlatch the hood. The hood should pop
open slightly. 3. Go to the front of the vehicle, raise
the hood slightly, push up the sec-
ondary latch (1) inside of the hood
center and lift the hood (2). After it
has been raised about halfway, it
will raise completely by itself.
Closing the hood
1. Before closing the hood, check thefollowing:
module compartment must becorrectly installed.
bustible material must be
removed from the fuel cell power
module compartment.
2. Lower the hood halfway (lifted approximately 30 cm (12 inches)from the closed position) and push
down to securely lock in place.
Then double check to be sure the
hood is secure. If the hood can be
raised slightly, it is not securely
locked. Open it again and close it
with more force.

Power tailgate button
Press the power tailgate button for
approximately one second.
In order to suddenly stop the move-
ment of the tailgate while it is operat-
ing, quickly press the power tailgate
button.
Closing the tailgate
The power tailgate will close auto-
matically by doing one of the follow-ing:
Smart key tailgate unlock button
Press and hold the tailgate unlock
button on the smart key when the
tailgate is opened. The tailgate will
close and lock automatically.
Power tailgate inner button
Press the power tailgate inner button
for approximately 1 second. The tail-
gate will close and lock automatically.

Power tailgate button
Press the power tailgate button for
approximately one second. In order
to suddenly stop the movement of
the tailgate while it is operating,
quickly press the power tailgate but-ton.
In order to suddenly stop the move-
ment of the tailgate while it is operat-
ing, quickly press the power tailgate
button.
Power tailgate non-openingconditions
The power tailgate does not open
when the vehicle is in motion.
The chime will sound if youdrive with the tailgate opened.
Stop your vehicle immediately
at a safe place and check if yourtailgate is opened.
WARNING
OFE048038 Operating the power tailgate
more than 5 times continuously
could cause damage to the oper-
ating motor. In this case, the
power tailgate system enters
into thermal protection mode to
prevent the motor from over-heating.
In thermal protection mode the
power tailgate will not operate. If
any of the power tailgate buttons
are pressed to try to open the
tailgate, the chime will sound 3
times but the tailgate will remain
closed.
Allow the power tailgate system
to cool for about 1 minute before

How to reset the power tailgate
If the battery has been discharged or
disconnected, or if the power tailgate
fuse has been replaced or removed,
reset the power tailgate by perform-
ing the following procedure:
1. Put the shift button in P (Park).
2. Press the power tailgate inner but-ton and the power tailgate outer
handle button simultaneously for
more than 3 seconds. The chimewill sound.
3. Close the tailgate manually.
If the power tailgate does not work
properly after the above procedure,
have the system checked by an
authorized HYUNDAI dealer.
When operating the power tail-
gate, the gear shift button must be
in the (P) park position in order to
operate normally.
Power tailgate opening height user setting
Follow the instructions below to set
the fully open height of the powertailgate:
1. Position the tailgate manually to the height you prefer.
2. Press the power tailgate inner but- ton for more than 3 seconds.
3. Close the tailgate manually after hearing the buzzer sound.
The tailgate will open to the manual-
ly adjusted height that was set.
NOTICE
OFE048040 Always keep the tailgate com-
pletely closed while the vehicle
is in motion. If it is left open or
ajar, poisonous exhaust gases
containing carbon monoxide
(CO) may enter the vehicle and
serious illness or death mayresult.
WARNING
Rear cargo area
Occupants should never ride in
the rear cargo area where no
restraints are available. To avoid
injury in the event of an acci-
dent or sudden stops, occu-
pants should always be proper-
ly restrained.

How to use the Smart Tailgate
The hands-free smart tailgate sys- tem can be opened automatically
when the following conditions aremet:
The Smart Tailgate option isenabled in the User Settings in the
AVN screen.
The Smart Tailgate is activated and ready 15 seconds after all the
doors are closed and locked
The Smart Tailgate will open when the smart key is detected in the
area behind the vehicle for 3 sec-onds Information
The Smart Tailgate will NOT operate
when:
Any door is open, or all doors are closed but not locked
The smart key is detected within 15 seconds from when the doors were
closed and locked
For vehicles equipped with illumi- nated exterior front door handles, if
the smart key is detected within 15
seconds from when the doors were
closed and locked or if the smart key
is within 1.5 m (60 inches) from the
front door handles
The smart key is in the vehicle. 1. Setting
To activate the Smart Tailgate, go to
"Vehicle settings
Door/Liftgate"
and select Smart Liftgate on the AVNscreen.
For more details refer to the sepa-
rately supplied Navigation manu-al.
2.Detect and Alert
The Smart Tailgate detecting area
extends approximately 50-100 cm
(20-40 in) behind the vehicle. If youare positioned in the detecting area
and are carrying the smart key, the
hazard warning lights will blink and
the chime will sound to alert you that
the smart tailgate will open.
Information
Do not approach the detecting area if
you do not want the tailgate to open. If
you have unintentionally entered the
detecting area and the hazard warn-
ing lights and chime starts to operate,
move away from the area behind the
vehicle with the smart key. The tail-
gate will remain closed.

Information
If you press the door unlock button (2), the Smart Tailgate function will
be deactivated temporarily. But, if
you do not open any door for 30 sec-
onds, the Smart Tailgate function
will be activated again.
If you press the tailgate open button (3) for more than 1 second, the tail-
gate opens.
The Smart Tailgate function will still be activated if you press the
door lock button (1) or tailgate open
button (3) on the smart key as long
as the Smart Tailgate is not already
in the Detect and Alert stage.
In case you have deactivated the Smart Tailgate function by pressing
the smart key button and opened a
door, the Smart Tailgate function
can be activated again by closing
and locking all doors.Detecting area
The Smart Tailgate detecting areaextends approximately 50-100 cm
(20-40 in) behind the vehicle. If youare positioned in the detecting
area and are carrying the smart
key, the hazard warning lights will
blink and the chime will sound for
about 3 seconds to alert you that
the smart tailgate will open.
The alert stops once the smart key is moved outside of the detecting
area within the 3 second period. Information
The Smart Tailgate function may not operate properly if any of the
following instances occur:
- The smart key is close to a radiotransmitter such as a radio station
or an airport which can interfere
with normal operation of the
transmitter.
- The smart key is near a mobile two way radio system or a cellular
phone.
- Another vehicle's smart key is being operated close to your vehi-
cle.
The Smart Tailgate detecting area may change when:
- The vehicle is parked on an inclineor slope
- One side of the vehicle is raised or lowered relative to the opposite
side

Fuel Filler Door
Opening the fuel filler door
1. Turn the vehicle off.
2. Push the fuel filler door openerbutton.
The fuel filler door does not open if the vehicle is not off.
The fuel filler door may open after several seconds from turning off
the vehicle. However, in cold
weather, the fuel door may not
open for about 45 seconds until
the cluster message "Powering
down..." disappears. This is for
protecting the fuel cell system. 3. Pull the fuel filler door (1) outward
to access the fuel filler cap.
4. Pull the fuel filler cap (2).
Information
If the fuel filler door does not open
because ice has formed around it, tap
lightly or push on the door to break
the ice and release the door. Do not
pry on the door. If necessary, spray
around the door with an approved de-
icer fluid (do not use radiator anti-
freeze) or move the vehicle to a warm
place and allow the ice to melt.
Closing the fuel filler door
1. Cover the fuel filler with the cap.
2. Close the fuel filler door until it is latched securely.

If the fuel filler cap requires
replacement, you should use
parts for replacement from an
authorized Hyundai dealer. Anincorrect fuel filler cap canresult in a serious malfunc-tion of the fuel system or
emission control system. you
should contact your HYUNDAI
dealer for replacement.
If the fuel filler door is not
completely closed, the vehicle
is not turned on. Close thefuel filler door and turn on the
vehicle.
