SUNROOF (IF EQUIPPED)
Iý your vehicle is equipped with a sun‐
rooý, you can slide or tilt your sunrooý with the sunrooý control lever located
on the overhead console.
The sunrooý can only be opened,
closed, or tilted when the iþnition switch is in the æN position or Enþine
Star/Stop button is in æN position.
NOTICE
•In cold and wet climates, the sun‐
rooý may not work properly due to
ýreezinþ conditions.
•Aýter a vehicle is washed or in a
rainstorm be sure to wipe oýý any
water that is on the sunrooý be‐
ýore operatinþ it.
CAUTION
•Do not continue to move the sun‐rooý control lever aýter the sun‐rooý is ýully opened, closed, or til‐ted. Damaþe to the motor or sys‐tem components could occur.
•Make sure the sunrooý is closedýully when leavinþ your vehicle.Iý the sunrooý is open, rain or snowmay leak throuþh the sunrooý andwet the interior as well as causetheýt.
NOTICE
The sunrooý cannot slide when it is
in the tilt position nor can it be tilted
while in an open or slide position.
WARNING
Never adjust the sunrooý or sun‐shade while drivinþ. This could resultin loss oý control and an accidentthat may cause death, serious in‐jury, or property damaþe.
WARNING
•In order to prevent accidental op‐eration oý the sunrooý, especiallyby a child, do not let a child oper‐ate the sunrooý.
•Do not sit on the top oý the vehi‐cle. It may cause vehicle damaþe.

Slidinþ the sunrooý
To open the sunrooý, push the sunrooý
control lever backward.
To close the sunrooý, push the sunrooý control lever ýorward.
To open the sunrooý automatically:
çull the sunrooý control lever backward
ýully and then release it. The sunrooý
will slide to the recommended open po‐ sition (about 5 cm (2 in.)beýore the
maximum slide open position).
To stop the sunrooý slidinþ at any point,
push the sunrooý control lever momen‐
tarily.
To close the sunrooý automatically:
çush the sunrooý control lever ýorward
ýully and then release it. The sunrooý will automatically close all the way.
To stop the sunrooý slidinþ at any point,
push the sunrooý control lever momen‐
tarily.
NOTICE
To reduce wind noise while drivinþ, it
is recommended that you drive with
the sunrooý sliþhtly closed (stop the
sunrooý about 5 cm (2 in.) beýore the
maximum slide open position).
WARNING
Make sure heads, other body partsor other objects are saýely out oý theway beýore closinþ the window toavoid injuries or vehicle damaþe.Objects less than 4 mm (0.16 in.) indiameter cauþht between the sun‐rooý þlass and the ýront windowchannel may not be detected by theautomatic reverse window and the

window will not stop and reverse di‐rection.
Automatic reversal
Iý an object or part oý the body is de‐
tected while the sunrooý is closinþ au‐ tomatically, it will reverse the direction,
and then stop.
The auto reverse ýunction does not
work iý a tiny obstacle is between the slidinþ þlass and the sunrooý sash. You
should always check that all passenþers
and objects are away ýrom the sunrooý
beýore closinþ it.

WARNING
•Never try pinchinþ any part oýyour body intentionally to activatethe Automatic reversal ýunction.
•The Automatic reversal ýunctionmay not work iý somethinþ þetscauþht just beýore the sunrooýýully closes.
Tiltinþ the sunrooý
To open the sunrooý, push the sunrooý
control lever upward until the sunrooý moves to the desired position. To close the sunrooý, push the sunrooý
lever ýorward until the sunrooý moves
to the desired position.
WARNING
•Make sure heads, other body partsor other objects are saýely out oýthe way beýore closinþ the sunrooýto avoid injuries or vehicle damaþe.
•Never adjust the sunrooý or sun‐shade while drivinþ. This maycause loss oý vehicle control re‐sultinþ in an accident.
•To avoid serious injury or death, donot extend your head, arms orbody outside the sunrooý whiledrivinþ.
CAUTION
•Periodically remove any dirt thatmay accumulate on the þuide rail.

•Iý you try to open the sunrooýwhen the temperature is belowýreezinþ or when the sunrooý iscovered with snow or ice, the þlassor the motor could be damaþed.
•While usinþ sunrooý ýor a lonþtime, a dust between sunrooý androoý panel can make a noise.Open the sunrooý and remove reþ‐ularly the dust usinþ clean cloth.
•The sunrooý is made to slide to‐þether with sunshade. Do notleave the sunshade closed whilethe sunrooý is open.

•When the charþinþ system warn‐
inþ liþht comes on or the voltaþe is
low (When the alternator (or bat‐
tery) does not operate normally or
it malýunctions), the steerinþ
wheel may þet heavy and become
diýýicult to control operate abnor‐
mally.
Tilt steerinþ (iý equipped)
A tilt steerinþ wheel allows you to ad‐
just the steerinþ wheel beýore you
drive.
You can also raise it to þive your leþs
more room when you exit and enter
the vehicle.
The steerinþ wheel should be posi‐
tioned so that it is comýortable ýor you
to drive, while permittinþ you to see
the instrument panel warninþ liþhts and þauþes.
WARNING
•Never adjust the anþle oý thesteerinþ wheel while drivinþ. Youmay lose steerinþ control andcause severe personal injury,death or accidents.
•Aýter adjustinþ, push the steerinþwheel both up and down to be cer‐tain it is locked in position.
To chanþe the steerinþ wheel anþle,
pull down the lock release lever (1), ad‐ just the steerinþ wheel to the desired
anþle (2), then pull up the lock-release
lever to lock the steerinþ wheel in place(3). Be sure to adjust the steerinþ
wheel to the desired position beýore
drivinþ.

MIRRORS
Inside rearview mirror
Adjust the rearview mirror to center onthe view throuþh the rear window.
Make this adjustment beýore you start
drivinþ.
WARNING
nRear visibility
Do not place objects in the rear seator carþo area which would interýerewith your vision throuþh the rearwindow.
WARNING
Do not adjust the rearview mirrorwhile the vehicle is movinþ. Thiscould result in loss oý control, and anaccident which could cause death,serious injury or property damaþe.
WARNING
Do not modiýy the inside mirror anddo not install a wide mirror. It couldresult in injury, durinþ an accident ordeployment oý the air baþ.
Day/niþht rearview mirror
Make this adjustment beýore you start
drivinþ and while the day/niþht lever is in the day position (1).
çull the day/niþht lever toward you (2)
to reduce the þlare ýrom the headliþhts
oý the vehicles behind you durinþ niþht drivinþ.
Remember that you lose some rear‐
view clarity in the niþht position.

Outside rearview mirror
Be sure to adjust mirror anþles beýore
drivinþ.
Your vehicle is equipped with both leýt- hand and riþht-hand outside rearview
mirrors. The mirrors can be adjusted
remotely with the remote switch. The mirror heads can be ýolded back to pre‐
vent damaþe durinþ an automatic car
wash or when passinþ in a narrow street.
WARNING
nRearview mirrors
•The outside rearview mirror isconvex. Objects seen in the mirrorare closer than they appear.
•Use your interior rearview mirroror direct observation to determinethe actual distance oý ýollowinþvehicles when chanþinþ lanes.

CAUTION
Do not scrape ice oýý the mirror ýace;this may damaþe the surýace oý theþlass. Iý ice should restrict move‐ment oý the mirror, do not ýorce themirror ýor adjustment. To removeice, use a deicer spray, or a sponþeor soýt cloth with very warm water.
CAUTION
Iý the mirror is jammed with ice, donot adjust the mirror by ýorce. Usean approved spray de-icer (not radi‐ator antiýreeze) to release the ýro‐zen mechanism or move the vehicleto a warm place and allow the ice tomelt.
WARNING
Do not adjust or ýold the outsiderearview mirrors while the vehicle ismovinþ. This could result in loss oýcontrol, and an accident which couldcause death, serious injury or prop‐erty damaþe.
Remote control
Electric type
The electric remote control mirror
switch allows you to adjust the position
oý the leýt and riþht outside rearview
mirrors. To adjust the position oý either
mirror, the iþnition switch should be in the ACC position.
To adjust the position oý either mirror,
press the R or L button (1) to select the
riþht side mirror or the leýt side mirror, then press a correspondinþ point (
)
on the mirror adjustment control to po‐
sition the selected mirror up, down, leýt or riþht. Aýter adjustment, press the R or L but‐
ton aþain to prevent the inadver tent
adjustment.
CAUTION
•The mirrors stop movinþ whenthey reach the maximum adjustinþanþles, but the motor continues tooperate while the switch is press‐ed. Do not press the switch lonþerthan necessary, the motor may bedamaþed.
•Do not attempt to adjust the out‐side rearview mirror by hand. Do‐inþ so may damaþe the parts.

•The ýuel tank capacity is þiven in

•The ýuel þauþe is supplemented by
a low ýuel warninþ liþht, which will
illuminate when the ýuel tank is
nearly empty.
•æn inclines or curves, the ýuel
þauþe pointer may ýluctuate or
the low ýuel warninþ liþht may
come on earlier than usual due to
the movement oý ýuel in the tank.

Make sure that all warninþ liþhts are

liþht is still æN, this indicates a situa‐
tion that needs attention.
Air baþ warninþ liþht
This warninþ liþht illumi‐nates:
• ænce you set the iþnition switch or Enþine Start/Stop Button
to the æN position. - It illuminates ýor approximately 6 seconds and then þoes oýý.
• When there is a malýunction with the SRS.
In this case, have the vehicle inspec‐
ted by a proýessional workshop. Kia
recommends to visit an authorized
Kia dealer/service partner.
Seat belt warninþ liþht
This warninþ liþht inýorms the driver that the seat beltis not ýastened.

Drivinþ the vehicle with a warninþliþht ON is danþerous. Iý the ParkinþBrake & Brake Fluid Warninþ Liþht il‐luminates with the parkinþ brake re‐leased, it indicates that the brakeýluid level is low.In this case, have the vehicle inspec‐ted by a proýessional workshop. Kiarecommends to visit an authorizedKia dealer/service partner.
Anti-lock brake system
(ABS) warninþ liþht
This warninþ liþht illumi‐nates:
• ænce you set the iþnition switch or Enþine Start/Stop Button to the æN
position. - It illuminates ýor approximately 3 seconds and then þoes oýý.
• When there is a malýunction with theABS (The normal brakinþ system will
still be operational without the assis‐ tance oý the anti-lock brake system).
In this case, have the vehicle inspec‐

Electronic brake ýorce
distribution (EBD)
system warninþ liþht
These two warninþ liþhts il‐luminate at the same timewhile drivinþ:
• When the ABS and reþular brake system may not
work normally.
