Mobile Apps
You can enable the control of compatiblemobile apps running on your Bluetooth orUSB device on SYNC 3. In order to enablemobile apps, SYNC 3 requires user consentto send and receive app authorizationinformation and updates using the data planassociated with the connected device.
The connected devices send data to us inthe United States. The encrypted informationincludes your VIN, SYNC 3 module number,anonymous usage statistics and debugginginformation. Updates may take place.
Note:Not all Mobile Apps are compatiblewith the system.
Note:Standard data rates apply. We are notresponsible for any additional charges youmay receive from your service provider,when your vehicle sends or receives datathrough the connected device.

Ambient Lighting (If Equipped)

Wi-Fi Access Point issues
Possible solutionPossible causeIssue
Position the vehicle close to the access point with the front of thevehicle facing the access point direction and remove obstacles ifpossible. Other Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microwave and cordless phones maycause interference.
Weak signal probably due to distancefrom the access point, obstruction or highinterference.
Disconnecting aftersuccessful connection.
If the vehicle is equipped with heated windshield, try positioning thevehicle so that the windshield is not facing the access point. If youhave metallic window tinting but not on the windshield, position thevehicle to face the access point. If all windows are tinted, you canopen the windows in the direction of the access point if that is feasible.
There may be an obstruction betweenSYNC 3 and the access point.Poor signal seen by SYNC3 despite being near aaccess point.
Try to remove other obstructions that may impact signal quality suchas opening the garage door.
Please set the network to visible and try again.The access point was defined as ahidden network.An access point is notlisted in the list of availablenetworks.

If there are any abbreviations in the name, like ESPN or CNN, youhave to spell those: "E-S-P-N" or "C-N-N".
Make sure that song titles, artists, album, and playlists names do nothave any special characters like *, - or +.
The song or artist name may have somespecial characters that are not beingrecognized by SYNC 3.

INFORMATION
Why Maintain Your Vehicle?
Carefully following the maintenanceschedule helps protect against major repairexpenses resulting from neglect orinadequate maintenance and may help toincrease the value of your vehicle when yousell or trade it. Keep all receipts forcompleted maintenance with your vehicle.
We have established regular maintenanceintervals for your vehicle based uponrigorous testing. It is important that you haveyour vehicle serviced at the proper times.These intervals serve two purposes; one isto maintain the reliability of your vehicle andthe second is to keep your cost of owningyour vehicle down.
It is your responsibility to have all scheduledmaintenance performed and to make surethat the materials used meet thespecifications identified in this owner'smanual. See Capacities and Specifications(page 353).
Failure to perform scheduled maintenanceinvalidates warranty coverage on partsaffected by the lack of maintenance.

If you do not use Ford authorized parts theymay not meet our specifications anddepending on the part, it could affectemissions compliance.
Convenience
Many dealerships have extended eveningand Saturday hours to make your servicevisit more convenient and they offer one stopshopping. They can perform any servicesthat are required on your vehicle, fromgeneral maintenance to collision repairs.

Exceptions
There are several exceptions to the NormalSchedule:
California Fuel Filter Replacement
If you register your vehicle in California, theCalifornia Air Resources Board hasdetermined that the failure to perform thismaintenance item does not nullify theemission warranty or limit recall liabilitybefore the completion of your vehicle'suseful life. Ford Motor Company, however,urges you to have all recommendedmaintenance services performed at thespecified intervals and to record all vehicleservice.
Hot Climate Oil Change Intervals
The normal oil change interval for vehiclesoperating in the Middle East, North Africa,Sub-Saharan Africa or locations with similarclimates using an American PetroleumInstitute (API) Certified for Gasoline Engines(Certification mark) oil of SM or SN quality is3,000 mi (5,000 km).
If the available API SM or SN oils are notavailable, then the oil change interval is2,000 mi (3,000 km).
Engine Air Filter and Cabin Air FilterReplacement
The life of the engine air filter and cabin airfilter is dependent on exposure to dusty anddirty conditions. Vehicles operated in theseconditions require frequent inspection andreplacement of the engine air filter and cabinair filter.
