Call priority
When service calls are active, e.g. RoadsideAssistance or MB Info calls, an emergency callcan still be initiated. In this case, an emer-gency call will take priority and override allother active calls.

An emergency call can only be terminated bythe Mercedes-Benz Customer Assistance Cen-ter.
All other calls can be ended by pressing:

iWhen a call is initiated, the audio systemis muted. The mobile phone is no longerconnected to the multimedia system. How-ever, if you want to use your mobile phone,do so only when the vehicle is stationaryand in a safe location.
Downloading destinations in COMAND
Downloading destinations
Downloading destinations gives you access toa database with over 15 million points of inter-est (POIs). These can be downloaded on thenavigation system in your vehicle. If you knowthe destination, the address can be downloa-ded. Alternatively, you can obtain the locationof Points of Interest (POIs)/important destina-tions in the vicinity.
Furthermore, you can download routes with upto 20 way points.
You are prompted to confirm route guidanceto the address entered.
The system calculates the route and subse-quently starts the route guidance with theaddress entered.
iIf you selectNoNo, the address can be savedin the address book.
iThe Destination Download function isavailable if the relevant mobile phone net-work is available and data transfer is possi-ble.
iThe Destination Download function canonly be used if the vehicle is equipped witha navigation system.
Route Assistance
This service is part of the Mercedes me con-nect PLUS Package and cannot be obtainedseparately.
iYou can also use the Route Assistancefunction if your vehicle is not equipped witha navigation system.

GWARNING
If you open the hood when the drive system
has overheated or during a fire in the engine
compartment, you could come into contact
with hot gases or other escaping operating
fluids. There is a risk of burns.
Let the overheated components cool down
before opening the hood. In the event of a
fire in the engine compartment, keep the
hood closed and call the fire service.
GWARNING
Windshield washer concentrate is highly
flammable. If windshield washer concentrate
gets onto hot components of the engine or
the exhaust system, it can ignite. There is a
risk of fire and injury.
Make sure that windshield washer concen-
trate is not spilled in the vicinity of the filler
neck.

XAdd the premixed washer fluid.
XTo close:press capConto the filler neckuntil it engages.
If the washer fluid level drops below the rec-ommended minimum of 1 liter, a messageappears in the multifunction display promptingyou to add washer fluid (Ypage 228).

Service message
The ASSYST PLUS service interval displayinforms you of the next service due date.
You can find information on the type of serviceand service intervals in the Maintenance Book-let.
You can obtain further information from anauthorized Mercedes-Benz Center or athttp://www.mbusa.com (USA only).
iThe ASSYST PLUS service interval displaydoes not show any information on theengine oil level. Observe the notes on theengine oil level (Ypage 274).
The multifunction display shows a servicemessage for several seconds, e.g.:

Depending on the operating conditions of thevehicle, the remaining time or distance untilthe next service due date is displayed.

The ASSYST PLUS service interval display doesnot take into account any periods of time dur-ing which the battery is disconnected.
Maintaining the time-dependent service sched-ule:

Resetting the ASSYST PLUS service
interval display
!If the ASSYST PLUS service interval dis-play has been inadvertently reset, this set-ting can be corrected at a qualified special-ist workshop.
Have service work carried out as describedin the Maintenance Booklet. This may other-wise lead to increased wear and damage tothe major assemblies or the vehicle.
A qualified specialist workshop, e.g. an author-ized Mercedes-Benz Center, will reset theASSYST PLUS service interval display after theservice work has been carried out. You canalso obtain further information on mainte-nance work, for example.
Special service requirements
The specified maintenance interval takes onlythe normal operation of the vehicle intoaccount. Under arduous operating conditionsor increased load on the vehicle, maintenancework must be carried out more frequently, forexample:
Rregular city driving with frequent intermedi-ate stops
Rif the vehicle is primarily used to travel shortdistances
Ruse in mountainous terrain or on poor roadsurfaces
Rif the engine is often left idling for long peri-ods
Rin particularly dusty conditions, or if air-recirculation mode is frequently used
In these or similar operating conditions, havethe interior filter, engine air cleaner, engine oil
and oil filter, for example, changed more fre-quently. Under arduous operating conditions,the tires must be checked more often. Furtherinformation can be obtained at a qualified spe-cialist workshop, e.g. an authorized Mercedes-Benz Center.

Do not scrub.
Do not touch the surfaces and films withhard objects, e.g. rings or ice scrapers. Oth-erwise, you may scratch or damage the sur-faces and films.
!Do not park your vehicle for a long periodof time directly after cleaning, particularlyafter cleaning the wheel rim with wheelcleaner. Wheel cleaner can lead to theincreased corrosion of the brake discs andpads. Therefore, drive for a few minutesafter cleaning. By heating up the brakes, thebrake discs and pads dry. The vehicle canthen be parked for a long period of time.
Regular care of your vehicle is a condition forretaining the quality in the long term.
Use care products and cleaning agents recom-mended and approved by Mercedes-Benz.

Cleaning the paintwork

Scratches, corrosive deposits, areas affectedby corrosion and damage caused by inade-quate care cannot always be completelyrepaired. In such cases, visit a qualified spe-cialist workshop.
XRemove dirt immediately, where possible,while avoiding rubbing too hard.
XSoak insect remains with insect removerand rinse off the treated areas afterwards.
XSoak bird droppings with water and rinse offthe treated areas afterwards.
XRemove tree resin, oils, fuels and greases byrubbing gently with a cloth soaked in petro-leum ether or lighter fluid
XRemove coolant and brake fluid with a moistcloth and clear water.
XUse tar remover to remove tar stains.
XUse silicone remover to remove wax.
If water no longer forms "beads" on the paintsurface, use the paint care products recom-mended and approved by Mercedes-Benz. Thisis the case approximately every three to fivemonths, depending on the climate conditionsand the care product used.
If dirt has penetrated the paint surface or ifthe paint has become dull, the paint cleanerrecommended and approved by Mercedes-Benz should be used.
Do not use these care products in the sun oron the hood while the hood is hot.
XUse a suitable touch-up stick, e.g. MBTouch-Up Stick, to repair slight damage tothe paintwork quickly and provisionally.
Matte finish care
!Never polish the vehicle or the light alloywheels. Polishing causes the finish to shine.
!The following can give the paint a glossyappearance and thus reduce the matteffect:
RRubbing hard with unsuitable agents
RWashing the vehicle in direct sunlight
!Never use paint cleaner, buffing or polish-ing products, or gloss preserver, e.g. wax,for the purpose of paintwork care. Theseproducts are only suitable for high-gloss sur-faces. Their use on vehicles with mattepaintwork leads to considerable surfacedamage or, more specifically, to shiny, spot-ted areas.
Always have paintwork repairs carried out ata qualified specialist workshop.
!Only use automatic car washes which cor-respond to the latest technological stand-ards. Never use wash programs which finishby treating the vehicle with hot wax.
Observe these notes if your vehicle has a clearmatte finish. This will help you to avoid dam-age to the paintwork due to incorrect treat-ment.

Cleaning the decorative film
!The following may have an effect on theservice life and color of decorative film:

!Do not use any types of polish on mattdecorative film. Polishing surfaces coveredwith film gives it a shiny finish.
!Do not treat matt or structured decorativefilm with wax. This may lead to marks thatcannot be removed.
Observe the notes in the section on the careand treatment of matte paintwork(Ypage 280), these notes also apply to mattedecorative film.
To clean, use plenty of water and a mild clean-ing agent without additional or abrasive prod-ucts, e.g. use a car shampoo approved forMercedes-Benz.
XDry vehicles covered with film using a soft,absorbent cloth after every wash.Water marks could otherwise form.
Scratches, corrosive deposits, areas affectedby corrosion and damage caused by inade-quate care cannot always be completelyrepaired. In such cases, visit a qualified spe-cialist workshop.

The Paint Cleaner cleaning product, which hasbeen approved and recommended byMercedes-Benz, should be used when dirt has
penetrated the decorative film surface or thedecorative film has become dull.
The manufacturer can provide you with infor-mation on special care and cleaning products.
Laminated surfaces may exhibit optical differ-ences to surfaces which were not protected bya decorative film when the decorative film isremoved.
iHave work or repairs on decorative filmcarried out at a qualified specialist work-shop. Mercedes-Benz recommends that youuse an authorized Mercedes-Benz Center forthis purpose.

GWARNING
The water jet from a circular jet nozzle (dirt
blasters) can cause invisible exterior dam-
age to the tires or chassis components.
Components damaged in this way may fail
unexpectedly. There is a risk of an accident.
Do not use power washers with circular jet
nozzles to clean the vehicle. Have damaged
tires or chassis components replaced imme-
diately.
!Do not use acidic wheel cleaning productsto remove brake dust. This could damagewheel bolts and brake components.
!Do not park your vehicle for a long periodof time directly after cleaning, particularlyafter cleaning the wheel rim with wheelcleaner. Wheel cleaner can lead to theincreased corrosion of the brake discs andpads. Therefore, drive for a few minutesafter cleaning. By heating up the brakes, thebrake discs and pads dry. The vehicle canthen be parked for a long period of time.

Cleaning the exhaust pipes
GWARNING
The exhaust tail pipe and tail pipe trim can
become very hot. If you come into contact
with these parts of the vehicle, you could
burn yourself. There is a risk of burns.
Always be particularly careful and supervise
children closely around the exhaust pipe and
the exhaust pipe trims. Allow these compo-
nents to cool down before touching them.
!Do not clean the exhaust pipe with acid-based cleaning agents, such as bathroomcleaner or wheel cleaner.
!Mercedes‑AMG vehicles with black tail-pipes: black chrome trims must not be pol-ished with a chrome polish as this will causethem to lose their black shine. For optimalcare, the faceplates should be rubbed with alightly oiled cloth after every car wash. Com-mercially available engine oils and care oilsare suitable for use.
For heavier soiling, you can apply a finepaintwork polish with a microfiber cloth.Remove the excess polish residue after pol-ishing.
Impurities combined with the effects of roadgrit and corrosive environmental factors maycause flash rust to form on the surface. Youcan restore the original shine of the exhaustpipe by cleaning it regularly, especially in win-ter and after washing.
XClean the exhaust pipe with a care producttested and approved by Mercedes-Benz.
