General notes
G WARNING
If the engine spee disa bove the idling speed
and you engage transmission position D or R ,

When engaging transmission position D or R ,
alway sf irmly depress the brake peda la nd do
not simultaneously accelerate. ! Change gea ring ood time and avoi ds pin-
ning the wheels. You could otherwise damage
the vehicle.
Depress the accelerator carefully when pulling
away.
The vehicl el ocks centrally once you have pulled
away. The locking knobs in the doors drop down.
You can open the doors from the insid eata ny
time.
You can als od eactivate the automatic locking

It is only possible to shift the transmission from
position P to the desired position if you depress
the brake pedal. Only then is the shift lock
released.
i Upshifts take place at highe re ngine speeds
after ac old start. This help st he catalytic con-
verter to reach its operating temperature
more quickly.

Hill start assist Hill start assist help sy ou when pulling awa yf or-
ward sorinr everse on an uphill gradient. It holds
the vehicl ef or as hort time after you have
removed you rf oot from the brake pedal. This
gives you enoug ht ime to move you rf oot from
the brake peda ltot he accelerator peda la nd to
depress it before the vehicl eb egins to roll.
G WARNING
After as hort time, hill start assist wil lnol on-
ger brake you rv ehicl ea nd it could roll away.
There is ar isk of an accident and injury.
Therefore, quickly move you rf oot from the
brake peda ltot he accelerator pedal. Never
leave the vehicl ew hen it is held by hill start
assist.

! Overfilling the fuel tank could damage the
fuel system.
! Take care not to spill any fuel on painted
surfaces. You could otherwise damage the
paintwork.
! Use af ilter when adding fuel from af uel can.
The fuel lines and/or the fuel injection system
could otherwise be blocked by particles from
the fuel can.
If you overfill the fuel tank, fuel could spray out
when the fuel pump nozzle is removed.

Refueling
General information The fuel filler flap is unlocked or locked auto-
matically when you unlock or lock the vehicle
with the key or using KEYLESS-GO.

Park the vehicle so that no flammable mate-
rials come into contact with parts of the vehi-
cle which are hot. Take particular care not to
park on dry grassland or harvested grain
fields.

If you leave children unsupervised in the vehi-
cle, they could set it in motion by, for example: R
release the parking brake. R
shift the automatic transmission out of the
parking position P .R
start the engine.
In addition, they may operate vehicle equip-
ment and become trapped. There is ar isk of

High-performance brake system

The wear of individual component soft he brake

discs, depends on th ei ndividual driving style
and operatin gc onditions.

age that will be valid unde ra ll circumstances. An
aggressiv ed riving style will lead to high wear.

New and replaced brak ep ads and disc so nly
reac ht he ir optimum braking effect after several
hundred kilometers of driving .C ompensate for
this by applyin gg reater force to th eb rak ep edal.
Keep this in mind, and adapt your driving and
braking accordingl yd urin gt hi sb reak-in period.
Excessive heavy braking results in correspond-
ingly high brak ew ear. Observe th eb rak es ystem
warning lamp in th ei nstrumen tc luster and note
any brak es ta tus messages in th em ultifunction
display. Especially for high performanc ed riving,
it is important to maintain and have th eb rake
