CAUTION:
• Be careful not to damage wheel sensor edge and sensor rotor teeth.
• When removing the front or rear wheel hub, first remove the wheel sensor from the wheel hub. Fail-
ure to do so may result in damage to the wheel sensor wires making the sensor inoperative.
• Pull out the wheel sensor, being careful to turn it as little as possible. Do not pull on the wheel sen-
sor harness.
• Before installation, check if foreig n objects such as iron fragments are adhered to the pick-up part of
the sensor or to the inside of the hole in the wheel hub for the wheel sensor, or if a foreign object is
caught in the surface of the mati ng surface for the sensor rotor. Clean as necessary and then install
the wheel sensor.
REMOVAL
1. Remove the front wheels and tires using power tool. Refer to WT-55, "Adjustment".
2. Partially remove the fender protector to gain access to the front wheel sensor harness connector. Refer to
EXT-26, "FENDER PROTECTOR : Removal and Installation"
.
3. Disconnect the front wheel sensor harness connector.
4. Remove the front wheel sensor from the strut bracket and body brackets.
5. Remove the front wheel sensor hold down bolt and remove the front wheel sensor.

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
Do not twist front wheel sensor harness when installing front
wheel sensor. Check that grommet (2) is fully inserted to
bracket (1). Check that front wheel sensor harness is not
twisted after installation.

caught in the surface of the mating surface for the
sensor rotor. Fix as necessary and then install the
wheel sensor.
REMOVAL
1. Remove the rear wheels and tires using power tool. Refer to WT-55, "Adjustment".
2. Disconnect the rear wheel sensor harness connector.
3. Remove the rear wheel sensor from the rear wheel sensor brackets and clips.
4. Remove the rear wheel sensor hold down bolt and remove the rear wheel senor.
INSTALLATION
Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
CAUTION:
Do not twist rear wheel senso r harness when installing rear
wheel sensor. Check that grommet (2) is fully inserted to
bracket (1). Check that rear wheel sensor harness is not twisted
after installation.

During factory assembly, foam insulators are installed in certain body panels and locations around the vehicle.
Use the following procedure(s) to replace any factory-installed foam insulators.
URETHANE FOAM APPLICATIONS
Use commercially available Urethane foam for sealant (foam material) repair of material used on vehicle.
Read instructions on product for fill procedures.
FILL PROCEDURES
Example of foaming agent filling operation procedure:
1. Fill procedures after installation of service part.
a. Eliminate foam material remaining on vehicle side.
b. Clean area after eliminating form insulator and foam material.
c. Install service part.
d. Insert nozzle into hole (A) near fill area and fill foam material (1) or fill enough to close gap with the service
part.
2. Fill procedures before installation of service part:
a. Eliminate foam material remaining on vehicle side.
b. Clean area after eliminating foam insulator and foam material.
c. Fill with enough foam material on the wheelhouse outer side to close the gap with the service part while
avoiding the flange area. 3M™ Au

CORROSION PROTECTION
Undercoating

The underside of the floor and wheelhouse are undercoated to prevent rust, vibration, noise and stone chip-
ping. Therefore, when such a panel is replaced or re paired, apply undercoating to that part. Use an undercoat-
ing which is rust preventive, soundproof, vibr ation-proof, shock-resistant, adhesive, and durable.
Precautions in Undercoating
1. Do not apply undercoating to any place unless specif ied (such as the areas above the muffler and three
way catalyst which are subjected to heat).
2. Do not undercoat the exhaust pipe or other parts which become hot.
3. Do not undercoat rotating parts.
4. Apply bitumen wax after applying undercoating.

REPLACEMENT OPERATIONS
1. Use a cut off wheel to make pre-measured cut in upper centerpillar outer body side.
2. Cut the rocker area (A) between the sill plate holes (B) on the lower center pillar outer body side.
3. Drill spot welds that attach the center pillar outer body side. Only
drill through the outer panel.
4. Remove the center pillar outer body side.
Installation
Match welds locations from removed part onto new panel and weld into place.
REINFORCEMENT
Work after center pillar outer has been removed.

REPLACEMENT OPERATIONS
NOTE:
Only drill through the first layer of metal (the roof outer panel).
3. Drill out spot welds using a 8 mm (0.31in) spot weld removing bit on the windshield and rear window glass flanges.
NOTE:
Only grind through the first layer or metal (the roof outer panel)
4. Using an angle head grinder or cutting wheel to grind through the first layer only on the laser welded areas (roof panel sides) to release the weld.
