ZERO POINT RESET
ZERO POINT RESET : DescriptionINFOID:0000000009460737
Zero point reset is an initializing procedure for the OCS (weight) sensors that must be performed using CON-
SULT when removing and installing passenger seat or servic ing the OCS system. If zero point reset is not per-
formed, the initialization is incomplete and OCS may not operate normally.
NOTE:
• When reinstalling the passenger seat, the initial value for the OCS sensors may change, and the OCS may
not operate normally.
• When zero point reset is performed after removal and installation of passenger seat, CONSULT displays "complete".
ZERO POINT RESET : Spec ial Repair RequirementINFOID:0000000009460738
1.PERFORM ZERO POINT RESET
1. Perform preliminary checks: NOTE:
• Level the vehicle
• Minimize vibrations near the vehicle
• Remove any objects on passenger seat
• Do not touch the vehicle during zero point reset
2. Select START on ZERO POINT RESET from , WORK SUPPORT of “OCCUPANT DETECTION”.
3. “Zero point reset” starts.
>> GO TO 2.
2.CONFIRM RESET
1. Check that "Complete" is displayed on “Zero point reset status”.
CAUTION:
• “Complete” may be displayed if the seat has been reinstalled, or “zero point reset” has already been
performed.
• "Incomplete” may be displayed if a new seat is installed.
• Air bag warning lamp flashes in user mode if zero point reset is "incomplete".
Is zero point reset status "complete"?
YES >> Print out “ZERO POINT RESET CURRENT STATUS” screen. Inspection end.
NO >> Recheck the preliminary check items and perform zero point reset again.

COUNTER SYSTEM LIST
DRIVING CONDITION
Driving condition A
Driving condition A is the driving condition that provides warm-up.
In specific, count-up is performed when all of the following conditions are satisfied.
• Engine speed is 400 rpm or more.
• After start of the engine, the water temperature increased by 20 °C (36 °F) or more.
• Water temperature was 70 °C (158 °F) or more.
• The ignition switch was changed from ON to OFF.
NOTE:
• If the same malfunction is detected regardless of the driving condition, reset the A counter.
• When the above is satisfied without detecting t he same malfunction, count up the A counter.
• When MIL goes off due to the malfunction and the A counter reaches 40, the DTC is erased.
Driving condition B
Driving condition B is the driving condition that performs all diagnoses once.
In specific, count-up is performed when all of the following conditions are satisfied.
• Engine speed is 400 rpm or more.
• Water temperature was 70 °C (158 °F) or more.
• In closed loop control, vehicle speed of 70 – 120 km/h (43 – 75 MPH) continued for 60 seconds or more.
• In closed loop control, vehicle speed of 30 – 60 km/h (19 – 37 MPH) continued for 10 seconds or more.
• In closed loop control, vehicle speed of 4 km/h (2 MPH) or less and idle determination ON continued for 12
seconds or more.
• After start of the engine, 22 minutes or more have passed.
• The condition that the vehicle speed is 10 km/h (6 MPH) or more continued for 10 seconds or more in total.
• The ignition switch was changed from ON to OFF.
NOTE:
• If the same malfunction is detected regardless of the driving condition, reset the B counter.
• When the above is satisfied without detecting t he same malfunction, count up the B counter.
• When the B counter reaches 3 wit hout malfunction, MIL goes off.
• When the B counter is counted once without detecting the same malfunction after TCM memorizes DTC of
the 1st trip, DTC of the 1st trip is erased.

COMBINATION METER SE LF-DIAGNOSIS MODE
The following meter functions can be checked during Combination Meter Self-Diagnosis Mode:
• Pointer sweep of speedometer, tachometer and gauges.
• Illumination of all LCD segments and color patterns for meter displays.
• Illumination of all lamps/LEDs that are controlled by the combination meter (regardless of switch status).
STARTING COMBINATION METER SELF-DIAGNOSIS MODE
NOTE:
• Check combination meter power supply and ground circuits if self-diagnosis mode does not start. Refer to
MWI-58, "COMBINATION METER : Diagnosis Procedure"
. Replace combination meter if power supply and
ground circuits are found to be normal and self-diagnosis mode does not start. Refer to MWI-82, "Removal
and Installation".
• Combination meter self-diagnosis mode will function with the ignition switch in ON. Combination meter self-
diagnosis mode will exit upon turning the ignition switch to OFF.
How to Initiate Se lf-Diagnosis Mode
1. Press and hold the trip reset switch while turning the ignition switch ON. After 2 seconds release trip reset
switch, then press the trip reset switch 3 times withi n 7 seconds after the ignition switch is turned ON.
2. When the diagnosis function is activated, the meter illuminates all of the following:
• Warning lights/indicators.
• Meter assembly.
• Information display color bars red, green, blue and white (1).
• Odometer, trip A/B odometers and CVT indicator LCD display segments (2).
3. Pressing and holding the trip reset switch performs the pointer sweep test.
