1.CHECK FUNCTION
With CONSULT-III
Check unlock sensor DR DOOR STATE in “Data Monitor” mode.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> Unlock sensor is OK.
NO >> Refer to DLK-104, "

1.CHECK UNLOCK SENSOR POWER SUPPLY
Check signal between Intelligent Key unit connector and ground with
oscilloscope.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 6
NO >> GO TO 2
2.CHECK UNLOCK SENSOR CIRCUIT
1. Turn ignition switch OFF.
2. Disconnect Intelligent Key unit and front door lock actuator (driver side) connectors.

3. Check continuity between Intelligent Key unit connector (A) M52
terminal 28 and front door lock actuator (driver side) connector
(B) D14 terminal 4.
4. Check continuity between Intelligent Key unit connector and ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 3
NO >> Repair or replace harness between Intelligent Key unit and front door lock actuator (driver side).
3.CHECK UNLOCK SENSOR GROUND CIRCUIT
Check continuity between front door lock actuator (driver side) con-
nector and ground.
Is the inspection result normal?
YES >> GO TO 4
NO >> Repair or replace harness.
4.CHECK INTELLIGENT KEY UNIT OUTPUT SIGNAL
1. Connect Intelligent Key unit harness connector.

YES >> GO TO 5

TURN SIGNAL LAMP CONTROL
BCM detects the turn signal lamp circuit status from the terminal voltage.
BCM increases the turn signal lamp blinking speed if the bulb or harness open is detected with the turn signal
lamp operating.
NOTE:
The blinking speed is normal while activating the hazard warning lamp.
LIGHT & RAIN SENSOR MALFUNCTION DETECTION FUNCTION
BCM controls the following items when LIGHT & RAIN sensor has a malfunction.
Auto Light Control
Headlamp is turned ON.
Front Wiper Control
The condition just before the activation of Fail-safe is maintained until the front wiper switch is turned OFF.

NOTE:
Details of time display
 CRNT: Displays when there is a malfunction now or after returning to the normal condition until turning igni-
tion switch OFF → ON again.
 PAST: Displays when there is a malfunction that is detected in the past and stored.
 1 - 39: Displayed if any previous malfunction is present when current condition is normal. It increases like 1
→ 2 → 3...38 → 39 after returning to the normal condition whenever ignition switch OFF → ON. The counter
remains at 39 even if the number of cycles exceeds it. It is counted from 1 again when turning ignition switch
OFF → ON after returning to the normal condition if the malfunction is detected again.

INTELLIGENT KEY OPERATION MALFUNCTION
NOTE:
 Before performing the diagnosis in the following table, check “Work Flow”. Refer to DLK-16, "
Work Flow".
 Check that vehicle is under the condition shown in “Conditions of vehicle” before starting diagnosis, and
check each symptom.
 If the following symptoms are detected, check systems shown in the “Diagnosis/service procedure” column
in this order.
Conditions of Vehicle (Operating Conditions)
 Door lock and unlock operation are normal.
 Emergency key is removed from ignition key cylinder.
 All doors are closed.
 Ignition knob is not pressed.
 No Intelligent Keys are inside the vehicle.

Hood Lock
1. Remove front grille (LH or RH as necessary). Refer to EXT-19, "Removal and Installation".
2. Remove hood lock bolts.
3. Remove hood lock from hood lock cable.
Hood Lock Reinforcement
1. Remove front bumper. Refer to EXT-15, "Removal and Installation - Hatchback" or EXT-17, "Removal and
Installation - Sedan".
2. Remove crash zone sensor.
3. Remove bolts, and the hood lock reinforcement.
Hood Lock Cable
1. Remove front grille (LH/RH). Refer to EXT-19, "Removal and Installation".
2. Remove fender protector (LH or RH as necessary). Refer to EXT-22, "
Removal and Installation".
3. Remove hood lock, and remove hood lock cable from hood lock.
4. Remove radiator core upper support, hood ledge, and then remove hood lock cable.
