TRUNK LID OPENER
TRUNK LID OPENER SWITCH : Component Description

Item Function
BCM Controls the trunk lid opener switch function.
Trunk lid opener switch Transmits trunk lid opener switch operation signal to BCM.
Trunk release solenoid Opens the trunk with the trunk release solenoid signal from BCM.
Combination meter Transmits vehicle speed signal to BCM via CAN communication.

KEY WARNING LAMP & LOCK WARNING LAMP
The key indicator and lock indicator indicates Intelligent Key system status.
Operation Condition
BACK DOOR/TRUNK OPEN WARNING OPERATION
When back door (hatchback) or trunk lid (sedan) opener switch is operated, when door lock is locked with door
lock and unlock switch, speed sensing lock or only driver side is unlocked with anti-hijack function, the buzzer
(built in combination meter) will sound.
KEY REMINDER OPERATION
 The buzzer (combination meter) will sound and the doors will not lock if the door lock and unlock switch is
pressed while the driver door is open and mechanical key is inserted into ignition key cylinder.
 The buzzer (combination meter) will sound and the doors will not lock if the door lock and unlock switch is
pressed while any door other than the driver door is open.

Intelligent Key unit Controls the warning function with BCM.
Key switch Detects that mechanical key is inserted into ignition key cylinder.
Door switch Detects door state (open or closed).
Door lock and unlock switch Transmits door lock and unlock signal to BCM.
Intelligent Key unitRequests to turn ON hazard warning lamp to BCM and turn signal indicator to
combination meter.
Combination meterTurns ON the LOCK indicator, KEY indicator, turn signal indicator and buzzer
(built in combination meter) by the request from Intelligent Key unit via CAN com-
munication.

HAZARD AND BUZZER REMINDER FUNCTION
When door is locked or unlocked by Intelligent Key or door request switch, Intelligent Key unit sounds
buzzer(s) and sends hazard request signal to BCM via CAN communication. Then BCM flashes hazard warn-
ing lamps as a reminder.
NOTE:
Hazard and buzzer reminder function mode can be changed with CONSULT-III. Refer to DLK-53, "
CONSULT-
III Function (INTELLIGENT KEY)".

BCM CONSULT-III FUNCTION
CONSULT-III performs the following functions via CAN communication with BCM.
Diagnosis mode Function Description
WORK SUPPORT Changes the setting for each system function.
SELF-DIAG RESULTS Displays the diagnosis results judged by BCM. Refer to XX-XX, "*****"

CAN DIAG SUPPORT MNTR Monitors the reception status of CAN communication viewed from BCM.
DATA MONITOR The BCM input/output signals are displayed.
ACTIVE TEST The signals used to activate each device are forcibly supplied from BCM.
ECU IDENTIFICATION The BCM part number is displayed.
CONFIGURATION Enables to read and save the vehicle specification.
 Enables to write the vehicle specification when replacing BCM.

BCM CONSULT-III FUNCTION
Diagnosis mode Function Description

 NORMAL: Ignition switch ON. (BCM is receiving normal condition signal from air bag diagno-
sis sensor unit.)
 ON: During the receiving of air bag deployment signal from air bag diagnosis sensor unit.
 OFF: After the receiving of air bag deployment signal from air bag diagnosis sensor unit.
VEHICLE SPEED Displays the vehicle speed signal received from combination meter by numerical value [km/h].

DOOR LOCK INDThis test is able to check door lock indicator (built in door lock and unlock switch on center
console) operation [ON/OFF].
DOOR LOCKThis test is able to check door lock operation [ALL LOCK/ALL UNLOCK/DR UNLOCK/
