VENTILATION
Recommendations for
use
If the interior temperature
remains very high after a prolonged
p e r i o d p a r k e d i n t h e s u n , fi r s t v e n t i -
late the passenger compartment for
a few minutes.
For an even air distribution, make
s u r e t h a t y o u d o n o t b l o c k t h e o u t -
side air inlet grille, the vents, the air
passages and the air outlets to the
footwells.
E n s u r e t h a t t h e p a s s e n g e r c o m p a r t -
m e n t fi l t e r , l o c a t e d b e l o w t h e w i n d -
screen, in the engine compartment,
i s i n g o o d c o n d i t i o n . H a v e t h e fi l t e r
elements replaced regularly. If you
drive in dusty conditions, change
them twice as often.
Operate the air conditioning system
for 5 to 10 minutes, once or twice a
month, to keep it in perfect working
order.
I n o r d e r t o e n s u r e t h a t y o u r a i r c o n d i -
tioning system continues to operate
correctly, you are advised to have it
checked regularly.
The condensation created by the air
c o n d i t i o n i n g r e s u l t s i n a fl o w o f w a -
ter under the vehicle when stationary
which is perfectly normal.
If the system does not produce
cold air, do not use it and contact a
PEUGEOT dealer.

red (hot) to adjust the temperature to
suit your requirements.

To maintain a certain level of comfort
in the passenger compartment, avoid
position 0 whenever possible.
In position 0 , a s l i g h t fl o w o f a i r , d u e
to the movement of the vehicle, can
still be felt. T h e a i r d i s t r i b u t i o n c a n b e a d -
justed by placing the control
in an intermediate position.

With the engine running,
press button 4 , t h e i n d i c a -
tor light comes on.
The system demists the
rear screen.
It is switched off by pressing control 4 .

In a humid climate, use of the
air recirculation may cause
misting of the windows. Switch the system off as
soon as you consider this

MIRRORS STEERING WHEEL HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT (WITH POWER STEERING)
When stationary
, lower the lever to
unlock the steering wheel.
Adjust to the desired height and lift
the lever to lock the steering wheel.

The interior mirror has two positions:
- d a y ( n o r m a l ) ,
- n i g h t ( a n t i - d a z z l e ) .
To change from one to the other,
push or pull the lever on the lower
edge of the mirror.
Exterior mirrors
Move the lever in all four directions to
adjust the mirror.
For safety reasons, these
o p e r a t i o n s m u s t n o t b e c a r -
ried out while driving.

justing the angle of the seat back.
3. Access to the rear seats (3-door)
Position the seat belt along the door pillar.
Push control A rearwards to fold the seat back and move the seat forwards.
To put the seat back in place, push the seat back until the seat locks.
R e s e t t h e f o r w a r d s - b a c k w a r d s a d -justment of the seat and the seat back angle.

Raise the control and slide the seat
forwards or backwards.
No person or object must p r e v e n t t h e s e a t f r o m r e t u r -ning to the required position.

REAR HEAD RESTRAINTS *
The rear head restraints can be
removed and have two positions:
- h i g h , p o s i t i o n f o r u s e .
- l o w , s t o r a g e p o s i t i o n .
T o r a i s e t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t , p u l l i t u p -
wards.
To lower it, press lug A then the head
restraint.
To remove it:
- t i l t t h e s e a t b a c k s l i g h t l y ,
- m o v e t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t t o t h e high position,
- p r e s s l u g A pulling the head
restraint upwards at the same
time.
T o r e fi t i t :
- t i l t t h e s e a t b a c k s l i g h t l y ,
- e n g a g e t h e r o d s o f t h e h e a d restraint in the openings.
To reach the low position, press lug A .

seat:
The seat back is folded from the rear
of the vehicle, with the boot open:

positioned correctly on the
side of the seat back to avoid
damaging it,
- p l a c e t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t s i n t h e low position (see "rear head
restraints"),
- w h i l e f o l d i n g t h e s e a t b a c k , p u l l the strap(s) A , located behind
the seat back.

dren should travel in the rear seats

ADVICE ON CHILD SEATS
The incorrect installation of a child
seat in a vehicle compromises the
child's protection in the event of an
accident.
Remember to fasten the seat belts or
the child seat harness k e e p i n g t h e
s l a c k in relation to the child's body
to a minimum , e v e n f o r s h o r t j o u r -
neys.
F o r o p t i m u m i n s t a l l a t i o n o f t h e " f o r -
ward facing" child seat, ensure that
the back of the child seat is in contact
with the back of the vehicle's seat
and that the head restraint does not
cause any discomfort.
I f t h e h e a d r e s t r a i n t h a s t o b e r e -
moved, ensure that it is stored or
attached securely to prevent it from
being thrown around the vehicle in
the event of sharp braking.
Children under the age of 10 must not travel in the "forward facing" position
on the front passenger seat, unless
the rear seats are already occupied
by other children, cannot be used or
are absent.
Deactivate the passenger airbag
w h e n a " r e a r f a c i n g " c h i l d s e a t i s i n -
stalled on the front seat.
Otherwise, the child would risk being
seriously injured or killed if the airbag
w e r e t o i n fl a t e . As a safety precaution, do not leave:
- o n e o r m o r e c h i l d r e n a l o n e a n d
unsupervised in a vehicle,
- a c h i l d o r a n a n i m a l i n a v e h i c l e which is exposed to the sun, with
the windows closed,
- t h e k e y s w i t h i n r e a c h o f c h i l d r e n inside the vehicle.
To protect young children from the
r a y s o f t h e s u n , fi t s i d e b l i n d s o n t h e
rear windows.
I n s t a l l i n g a b o o s t e r s e a t
The chest part of the seat belt must
be positioned on the child's shoulder
without touching the neck.
Ensure that the lap part of the seat
belt passes correctly over the child's
thighs.
PEUGEOT recommends the use of
a booster seat which has a back,
fi t t e d w i t h a s e a t b e l t g u i d e a t s h o u l -
der level.
