YOUR AT A GLANCE
STARTING The four positions of the key in the ignition:
STOP position:
the ignition is off.
1st notch, Accessories position:
the ignition is off but the acces-sories can be used. 2nd notch, Running position: the ignition is on. Starting position:
operates the starter. Steering lock Before starting, unlock the steer-
ing if necessary, by gently turning the steering wheel at the
same time as you turn the key. It is advisable to press the clutch pedal while operating the starter
to make starting easier. Starting the engine
Do not press the accelerator.
Operate the starter, without
releasing the key, until the engineturns
THE KEYS The keys operate independently the locks for the doors, the boot(opening), the fuel filler flap, thesteering lock and the glove boxas well as operating the passen-ger air bag disarming switch. Central locking
From the driver's door, the keys allow you to:
Ð simultaneously lock the doors
and the boot,
Ð simultaneously unlock the doors alone.
You can only unlock the boot by using the boot lock. The remote control Pressing button A
allows you to lock the doors and bootby remote control. This is confirmed by the fixed lighting ofthe direction indica-tors for approxi-mately two sec-onds. Pressing button Ballows you to
unlock the doors alone. This is confirmed by the rapid flashing of the direc-tion indicators for approxi-mately two seconds.
Never
raceacoldengine.
Never run the engine in anenclosed space.
Do not make any modica-tions to the steering lock.

COMPACT DISC Selecting CD mode After insertion of a disc, printed face upwards, the player starts automatically. If a disc is already inserted, press button N.
Ejection of a disc Press button Dto eject the disc from the player.
Selecting a track Press button Jto select the next track.
Press button Lto return to the start of the current track or to select the previous track.
Accelerated play Keep button Jor Lpressed for forwards or backwards accelerated play.
Accelerated play stops as soon as the button is released.
ShuffleWhen the CD player is selected, keep button Npressed for two seconds. The tracks will be played in random sequence.
Pressing the button again for two seconds returns you to normal play.
Shuffle mode is de-activated each time the audio is switched off.
The use of copied compact discs may cause malfunctions.
Insert circular compact discs only.

These settings are recommended for cold climates. Centre and side vents.
This setting is recommended for hotclimates.
3. Air flow adjustment Turn the control from position 1to position 4to give a suffi-
cient air flow for comfort. 4. Air intake control
Outside air intake.
This is the position for normal use.
Recirculation of interior air.
This position prevents the entry ofunpleasant odours and fumes from theoutside and increases the speed ofheating.
As soon as possible, place the controlin the outside air position, otherwisethere is a risk of the windows mistingup.
5. De-icing the rear screen and the mirrors
With the engine running, pressing the button de-ices therear screen and the mirrors.
It switches off automatically afterapproximately twelve minutes. Pressing the button again starts it again for twelve minutes.
It is possible to stop the de-icing opera-tion by pressing the button before thetwelve minutes have elapsed.
Note: this function is disarmed when
the roof is stored in the boot.
