of units as important as the brak-
ing system, PEUGEOT selects and
o f f e r s v e r y s p e c i fi c p r o d u c t s .
To avoid damaging the electrical
units, the use of a high pressure
washer in the engine compartment
is strictly prohibited .
Brake disc wear status
Brake pads Handbrake
Brake wear depends on the
style of driving, particularly in
the case of vehicles used in
town, over short distances. It
may be necessary to have the
condition of the brakes checked, even
between vehicle services.
Unless there is a leak in the circuit, a
d r o p i n t h e b r a k e fl u i d l e v e l i n d i c a t e s
that the brake pads are worn. For information relating to
checking the brake disc wear
status, contact a PEUGEOT
dealer.
If the handbrake travel is too
long or if a loss of effectiveness
of this system is noticed, the
handbrake must be adjusted,
even between two services.
This system must be checked by a
PEUGEOT dealer.
Manual gearbox
The gearbox does not re-
quire any maintenance (no oil
change).
Refer to the servicing book-
let for the details of the level
checking interval for this com-
ponent.
Automatic gearbox The gearbox does not re-

PUNCTURE REPAIR KIT Using the kit
The puncture repair kit is located in the
b o o t u n d e r t h e fl o o r . I t i s i n s t a l l e d i n
the tool box, located under the storage
b o x .
Tick the wheel to be repaired on the
speed limitation sticker enclosed
t h e n a f fi x t h e s t i c k e r t o t h e v e h i c l e ' s
steering wheel to remind you that a
w h e e l i s i n t e m p o r a r y u s e .
Clip the bottle 1 on the compressor 2 .
Check that the switch A is tilted to
position "0" .
Connect the pipe of the bottle 1 to
t h e v a l v e o f t h e t y r e t o b e r e p a i r e d .
Connect the pipe of the compressor
2 t o t h e b o t t l e .
C o n n e c t t h e c o m p r e s s o r ' s e l e c t r i c
p l u g t o t h e v e h i c l e ' s 1 2 V s o c k e t .
S t a r t t h e v e h i c l e a n d l e a v e t h e e n -

CHANGING A WHEEL
Procedure for changing a faulty wheel
f o r t h e s p a r e w h e e l u s i n g t h e t o o l s p r o -

Fixing the steel spare wheel
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a l l o y
wheels, it is normal to notice, when
t i g h t e n i n g t h e b o l t s o n fi t t i n g , t h a t
t h e w a s h e r s d o n o t c o m e i n t o c o n -
t a c t w i t h t h e s t e e l s p a r e w h e e l . T h e
wheel is secured by the conical
c o n t a c t o f e a c h b o l t .
Access to the spare wheel
The spare wheel is installed in the boot
u n d e r t h e fl o o r .
A c c o r d i n g t o c o u n t r y , t h e s p a r e w h e e l
m a y b e s t e e l o r a l l o y .
T o g a i n a c c e s s t o i t , r e f e r t o t h e p a r a -
g r a p h " A c c e s s t o t h e t o o l s " o n t h e p r e v i -

Taking out the wheel
U n s c r e w t h e y e l l o w c e n t r a l b o l t .
Raise the spare wheel towards you
f r o m t h e r e a r .
T a k e t h e w h e e l o u t o f t h e b o o t .
Putting the wheel back in place
P u t t h e w h e e l b a c k i n i t s h o u s i n g .
Unscrew the yellow central bolt by a
few turns then put it in place in the
c e n t r e o f t h e w h e e l .
Tighten fully until the central bolt
c l i c k s t o r e t a i n t h e w h e e l c o r r e c t l y .
P u t t h e b o x b a c k i n p l a c e i n t h e c e n -
t r e o f t h e w h e e l a n d c l i p i t .

wheelbrace 1 t o u n l o c k t h e a n t i - t h e f t
b o l t .
Unlock the other bolts using the
wheelbrace 1 o n l y .
P l a c e t h e j a c k 2 in contact with one
of the two front A or rear B locations
p r o v i d e d o n t h e u n d e r f r a m e , w h i c h -
e v e r i s c l o s e s t t o t h e w h e e l t o b e
c h a n g e d .
E x t e n d t h e j a c k 2 until its base plate
i s i n c o n t a c t w i t h t h e g r o u n d . E n s u r e
t h a t t h e c e n t r e l i n e o f t h e j a c k b a s e
plate is directly below the location A

I n c e r t a i n c l i m a t i c c o n d i t i o n s ( l o w t e m -
perature, humidity), the presence of
condensation on the inside of the
headlamp and light glass is normal ;
it disappears a few minutes after the
l i g h t s a r e s w i t c h e d o n .
Handle the bulbs using a dry
c l o t h .
T h e h e a d l a m p s a r e fi t t e d w i t h p o l y -
carbonate lenses, coated with a
p r o t e c t i v e v a r n i s h :
do not clean them with a dry
or abrasive cloth or using a
detergent or solvent product,
use a sponge and soapy water,
when using a high pressure
washer on stubborn dirt, do not
s p e n d t o o l o n g o n t h e h e a d -
lamps, lights and their surrounds
t o a v o i d d a m a g i n g t h e i r v a r n i s h
