Comfort
Programmable heating mode
This is an additional and separate system
which heats the engine hot water circuit
to improve defrosting and to preheat thepassenger compartment.
This indicator lam
p comes on if the
system is programmed in preheatingmode.With the i
gnition on, press the left hand
steering mounted thumb wheel for access to
the main menu:
Programming
) In the "Main menu", select "Pre-heating/Pre-ventilation",
)
Select "Activation" and if necessary for programming, "Parameters",
)
Select "Heating" to preheat the engine or passenger compar tment or "Ventilation" to
ventilate the passenger compartment,
) Select:
- immediate to star t the heating ("OK"
once),
- the first clock to programme/store astar ting time,
- the second clock to programme/storeanother starting time.

Programmable Ventilation
mode
This mode allows ventilation of the passenger compartment to improve the temperatureexperienced on entering the vehicle in summer.
Using these two clocks and according to season you can, for example, selectone or the other star ting time. A message in the instrument panel
screen confirms your choice.

Driving
It is recommended that you do not apply the parking brake in very cold conditions (ice) and during towing
(recovery, ...). Deactivate the automatic functions and release the parking brakemanually.
Before leaving the vehicle, check that parking brake warning lamps in the instrument panel and the control lever Aare on, not flashing.
The electric parking brake combines
2 operating modes:- Automatic Application/ReleaseApplication is automatic when the engine
stops, release is automatic on use of the
accelerator (this mode is activated by
default), -Manual Application/ReleaseManual application of the parking brake is done by pulling control lever A.Manual release is done by pushing andreleasing the control lever, while pressing
the brake pedal.
When the driver's door is opened, there is an
audible signal and a message is displayed if the
brake is not applied.
Programming the mode
Depending on the country of sale of the vehicle,
the automatic application when the engine isswitched off and the automatic release whenyou press the accelerator can be deactivated. With the vehicle stationary, to apply the parking
brake whether the h
ybrid system is active or off,
pull
control lever A.
Manual application
Activation/deactivation is done via
the menu in the instrument panel
screen.
The parkin
g brake is then applied and released
manually. The application o
f the parking brake is confirmed by:

f the braking warning
lamp and of the Pwarning lamp in
the control lever A ,

When the driver’s door is opened with the
hybrid system active, there is an audible signal
and a message is displayed if the parking brakehas not been applied.

If this warning lamp comes on in the
instrument panel, the automatic mode

Driving
With the ignition on or the hybrid system active,
to release the parking brake, pressthe brakepedal
, pull
then release control lever A.
The full release of the parking brake is confirmed by:
Manual release
- the braking warning lamp and of
the P warning lamp in the controllever Agoing off,
- displa
y of a message.

f you pull the control lever Awithout pressing
the brake pedal, the parking brake will not
be released and a message appears in the
instrument panel.If necessar
y, you can make a maximumapplicationof the parking brake. It is obtained
by means of a long pullon control lever A,
until you see a message and an audible signal is heard. Maximum application is essential:- in the case of a vehicle towing a trailer,
if the automatic functions are activatedbut you are applying the parking brake
manually,
- when the slope you are parked on may
vary (e.g. on a ferry, on a lorry, during
towing).
Maximum application
Before leaving the vehicle, check that parking brake warning lamps in the instrument panel and in the controllever A
are on fixed (not flashing).
Never leave a child alone inside thevehicle with the ignition on, as they could release the parking brake.
Automatic application,

With the vehicle stationary, the parking brakeis automatically applied when the engine is
switched off. The application of the parking brake isconfirmed by:
In the case of towing, a loaded vehicleor parking on a gradient, make a maximum application of the parkingbrake then turn the front wheels towards the pavement and engage a gear whenyou park.
After a maximum application,the release time will be longer.

Automatic release
The electric parking brake releasesautomatically and progressively with the
movement of the vehicle,select position A, Mor Rthen press the accelerator.
Full release of the parking brake is confirmed by:
- the brakin
g warning lamp and of
the Pwarning lamp in the control lever Agoing off,
- displa
y of a message.
When stationary, with the hybrid systemactive, do not press the accelerator pedal unnecessarily, as you mayrelease the parking brake.
Before leaving the vehicle, check thatparking brake warning lamps in theinstrument panel and the control lever Aare on fixed, not flashing.
Immobilising the vehicle,
hybrid system active
With the hybrid system active and the vehicle
stationary, in order to immobilise the vehicle
it is essential to manually
apply the parkingbrake by pullingcontrol lever A.
The application of the parking brake isconfirmed by:
- illumination o
f the braking warning
lamp and of the Pwarning lamp in
the control lever A ,
- display of a message.
When the driver’s door is opened, a loud beep
is heard and a messa
ge is displayed if the
parking brake has not been applied.
Particular situations
In cer tain situations (e.g. star ting the engine),
the parking brake can automatically alter itsforce. This is normal operation.
To advance your vehicle a few centimetres
without star ting the engine, but with the ignition
on, press on the brake pedal and release the
parking brake by pushing then releasingcontrol lever A
. The full release of the parkingbrake is confirmed by the warning lamps in
the control lever Aand in the instrument panel going off and display of a message.
If a parking brake fault occurs while applied
or
if the battery runs flat, an emergency release is
always possible.
In order to ensure correct operation and
so your safety, the number of successive
application/release operations of the parkin
g
brake is limited to eight.
In the event of abuse, you are aler ted by a message and a warning lamp which flashes.
