Battery
TROUBLESHOOTING

BATTERY
Before disconnecting the battery, you
must wait for 2 minutes after switching
off the ignition.
Never disconnect a terminal when the
engine is running.
N e v e r c h a r g e a b a t t e r y w i t h o u t fi r s t
disconnecting the terminals.
After every reconnection of the battery,
switch on the ignition and wait 1 minute
before starting to allow the electronic
systems to be initialised. If slight
d i f fi c u l t i e s a r e e x p e r i e n c e d a f t e r t h i s ,
p l e a s e c o n t a c t a P E U G E O T d e a l e r .
After changing bulbs, wait
a p p r o x i m a t e l y 3 m i n u t e s b e f o r e
reconnecting the battery. It is advisable to disconnect the
battery if the vehicle is not to be used
f o r a p e r i o d o f m o r e t h a n o n e m o n t h .
To charge the battery using a
battery charger
- Disconnect the battery,
- Follow the instructions for use
given by the battery charger
manufacturer,
- Reconnect starting with the negative (-) terminal,
- Check that the terminals and connectors are clean. If they are
c o v e r e d w i t h s u l p h a t e ( w h i t e o r
g r e e n i s h d e p o s i t ) , d i s c o n n e c t t h e m
and clean them.
To start the vehicle from
another battery
- Connect the red cable to the p o s i t i v e ( + ) t e r m i n a l s o f t h e t w o
batteries,
- Connect one end of the green or black cable to the negative (-)
terminal of the slave battery,
- Connect the other end of the green o r b l a c k c a b l e t o a n e a r t h p o i n t o n
the broken down vehicle as far as
p o s s i b l e f r o m t h e b a t t e r y ,
- O p e r a t e t h e s t a r t e r , l e t t h e e n g i n e run,
- Wait for the engine to return to idle, then disconnect the cables. A f t e r t h e e n g i n e h a s s t o p p e d , w i t h
t h e k e y i n t h e i g n i t i o n p o s i t i o n , c e r t a i n
f u n c t i o n s ( w i n d s c r e e n w i p e r , e l e c t r i c
windows, courtesy lights, audio
e q u i p m e n t , e t c . ) c a n o n l y b e u s e d f o r a
cumulative duration of thirty minutes, to
p r e v e n t d i s c h a r g i n g o f t h e b a t t e r y .
O n c e t h e t h i r t y m i n u t e s a r e o v e r , t h e
a c t i v e f u n c t i o n s a r e p u t o n s t a n d b y
a n d t h e b a t t e r y w a r n i n g l i g h t fl a s h e s
a c c o m p a n i e d b y a m e s s a g e o n t h e
d i s p l a y .
T o r e s u m e t h e u s e o f t h e s e f u n c t i o n s
immediately, start the engine and let it
run for a few minutes.
T h e t i m e a v a i l a b l e w i l l t h e n b e d o u b l e
the time for which the engine was left
running. However, this time will always
b e b e t w e e n fi v e a n d t h i r t y m i n u t e s .
A fl a t b a t t e r y w i l l p r e v e n t t h e e n g i n e
from starting.

1. PARKING THE VEHICLE
- I t i s i m p e r a t i v e t h a t y o u e n s u r e t h a t t h e o c c u p a n t s g e t o u t o f t h e v e h i c l e
and wait in a safe location.
- I f p o s s i b l e , p a r k t h e v e h i c l e o n l e v e l , s t a b l e a n d n o n - s l i p p e r y
ground.
- A p p l y t h e h a n d b r a k e , s w i t c h o f f t h e i g n i t i o n a n d e n g a g e fi r s t o r r e v e r s e
gear. - I f a v a i l a b l e , p l a c e a c h o c k u n d e r
t h e w h e e l d i a g o n a l l y o p p o s i t e t h e
one to be changed.
I f t h e v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h a t o w b a r ;
it is sometimes necessary to raise
the vehicle slightly to make it easier
t o r e m o v e t h e s p a r e w h e e l f r o m i t s
carrier.
O n c e r t a i n t y p e s o f g r o u n d a n d / o r
if considerable loads are being
t r a n s p o r t e d , c a l l a P E U G E O T d e a l e r .

2. TOOLS
- O p e n t h e l i d o f t h e s t o r a g e c o m p a r t m e n t l o c a t e d u n d e r t h e
seat on the right-hand side. If
necessary, move the seat forward
t o a c c e s s t h e s t o r a g e c o m p a r t m e n t
from the rear.
- U n s c r e w t h e n u t t h e n t a k e o u t t h e jack and the wheelbrace.
1. Wheelbrace.
2. Jack.
3. Alloy wheel embellisher remover.
4. Chock.
T h e j a c k a n d t h e t o o l k i t a r e s p e c i fi c t o
your vehicle. Do not use them for other
p u r p o s e s .

3. SPARE WHEEL - Detach the carrier from the hook a n d p l a c e t h e s p a r e w h e e l n e a r t h e
wheel to be changed.
- U n s c r e w t h e b o l t u s i n g t h e
wheelbrace until the carrier is
lowered fully.
- O p e n t h e r e a r d o o r s t o g a i n a c c e s s
t o t h e s p a r e w h e e l .

4. OPERATING PROCEDURE - P l a c e t h e j a c k i n c o n t a c t w i t h t h e l o c a t i n g p o i n t p r o v i d e d , t h e o n e
which is closest to the wheel to
b e c h a n g e d . E n s u r e t h a t t h e j a c k
is straight and that the base of
the jack is fully in contact with the
ground.
- E x t e n d t h e j a c k t o l i f t t h e w h e e l clear of the ground.
- R e s u m e a n d c o m p l e t e t h e unscrewing of the wheel bolts.
- Remove the bolts and remove the wheel.
D o n o t e x t e n d t h e j a c k u n t i l y o u h a v e
started unscrewing the bolts on the
w h e e l t o b e c h a n g e d a n d h a v e p l a c e d
the chock under the wheel diagonally
o p p o s i t e .
- R e m o v e t h e t r i m p u l l i n g i t u s i n g t h e
embellisher remover.
- Loosen the wheel bolts and start unscrewing them. Anti-theft bolts
I f y o u r v e h i c l e i s fi t t e d w i t h w h e e l s w i t h
alloy rims:
- E a c h w h e e l h a s a n a n t i - t h e f t b o l t .
- T h e s e b o l t s c a n b e l o o s e n e d u s i n g
your anti-theft socket (given to you
in delivery of your vehicle) and the
wheelbrace.

- L o w e r t h e v e h i c l e c o m p l e t e l y b y folding the jack, then remove the
jack.
- T i g h t e n t h e b o l t s a g a i n u s i n g t h e wheelbrace, tighten them fully
without forcing them.
- P l a c e t h e w h e e l t o b e r e p a i r e d i n the carrier. - Secure the carrier on the hook then
raise the carrier using the bolt and
the wheelbrace.
Never go underneath a vehicle
t h a t i s s u p p o r t e d o n l y b y a
j a c k ( u s e a r a m p ) . N e v e r u s e
a s c r e w d r i v e r i n p l a c e o f t h e
wheelbrace.
5. FITTING THE SPARE WHEEL
- P o s i t i o n t h e w h e e l o n t h e h u b a n d
start tightening the bolts by hand.
- Carry out an initial tightening of the bolts using the wheelbrace.

c h a n g i n g a w h e e l fi t t e d w i t h a t y r e
u n d e r - i n fl a t i o n d e t e c t i o n s e n s o r . R e f e r t o t h e " I d e n t i fi c a t i o n
f e a t u r e s " s e c t i o n o f c h a p t e r 8 t o
locate the tyre label.
REMOVABLE SNOW SCREEN
According to country, the removable
snow screen is installed on the lower
p a r t o f t h e f r o n t b u m p e r t o p r e v e n t t h e
accumulation of snow at the radiator
cooling fan.
Do not forget to remove the snow
s c r e e n w h e n t h e e x t e r i o r t e m p e r a t u r e
is higher than 10 °C (no risk of snowfall)
and when towing.
FITTING

c e n t r i n g p i n A o n t h e f r o n t b u m p e r .
- P u t i t i n p l a c e b y p r e s s i n g a t e a c h c l i p B located in the four corners.
T h e s p a r e w h e e l i s n o t d e s i g n e d
to be used over long distances.
Have the tightening of the bolts
a n d t h e t y r e p r e s s u r e c h e c k e d b y a
P E U G E O T d e a l e r a s s o o n a s p o s s i b l e .
A l s o , h a v e t h e o r i g i n a l w h e e l r e p a i r e d
a n d r e fi t t e d b y a P E U G E O T d e a l e r a s
s o o n a s p o s s i b l e .

anticlockwise.
Type A

O p e n t h e b o n n e t . T o a c c e s s t h e b u l b s ,
r e a c h b e h i n d t h e h e a d l a m p u n i t .
C a r r y o u t t h e o p e r a t i o n s i n r e v e r s e
o r d e r t o r e fi t e a c h b u l b a n d c h e c k t h a t
the bonnet is closed securely.
Type C
Halogen bulb: release the
r e t a i n i n g s p r i n g f r o m i t s
housing.
Halogen bulbs must be changed
w i t h t h e h e a d l a m p o f f . W a i t a f e w
minutes (risk of serious burns).
Do not touch the bulb directly with your
fi n g e r s , u s e l i n t - f r e e c l o t h s .
It is normal for condensation to form
i n s i d e t h e h e a d l a m p s . R e g u l a r u s e o f
the vehicle eliminates this misting. T h e b u l b s m u s t b e c h a n g e d w i t h
the ignition off or with the battery
d i s c o n n e c t e d . W a i t a p p r o x i m a t e l y
3 m i n u t e s a f t e r c h a n g i n g t h e b u l b
before reconnecting the battery.

a f t e r e a c h o p e r a t i o n .

- R e m o v e t h e c o v e r b y p u l l i n g t h e fl e x i b l e r u b b e r t a b .
- T u r n t h e b u l b h o l d e r a q u a r t e r turn anticlockwise.
- R e m o v e t h e b u l b b y p r e s s i n g it lightly while turning it
anticlockwise.
- Change the bulb.
- E n s u r e t h a t t h e c o v e r i s r e fi t t e d c o r r e c t l y o v e r i t s e n t i r e p e r i p h e r y
to guarantee sealing.
2. Side lights
Type A, W 5 W - 5 W
- R e m o v e t h e c o v e r b y p u l l i n g t h e fl e x i b l e r u b b e r t a b .
- R e m o v e t h e b u l b h o l d e r fi t t e d b y p r e s s u r e b y p u l l i n g t h e c o n n e c t o r .
- Change the bulb.
- E n s u r e t h a t t h e c o v e r i s r e fi t t e d c o r r e c t l y o v e r i t s e n t i r e p e r i p h e r y
to guarantee sealing.
FRONT LIGHTS
1. Dipped headlamps/Main beam
headlamps
Type C, H4 - 55 W
- Remove the centre cover by p u l l i n g t h e fl e x i b l e r u b b e r t a b .
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the retaining tab.
- Change the bulb taking care t o a l i g n t h e m e t a l p a r t w i t h t h e
grooves on the light.
- R e p o s i t i o n t h e r e t a i n i n g t a b .
- E n s u r e t h a t t h e c o v e r i s r e fi t t e d c o r r e c t l y o v e r i t s e n t i r e p e r i p h e r y
to guarantee sealing.

bulb.

- I n s e r t t h e n e w b u l b , r e - t i g h t e n t h e c l i p s around the base of the bulb and carry
o u t t h e o p e r a t i o n s i n r e v e r s e o r d e r t o
p u t t h e l i g h t u n i t a n d t h e b u m p e r b a c k i n
p o s i t i o n .
SIDE REPEATER
Type A, W Y 5 W ( a m b e r )
- P u s h t h e r e p e a t e r t o w a r d s t h e r e a r a n d d i s e n g a g e i t b y p u l l i n g t h e
front.
- C o n s u l t a P E U G E O T d e a l e r t o o b t a i n a n e w r e p e a t e r w h i c h i s a
f u l l y m o u l d e d p a r t .
- T o r e fi t , e n g a g e t h e r e p e a t e r towards the rear and bring it
towards the front.

- U n c l i p t h e l e n s b y s l i d i n g a screwdriver in the slots on each
side of the courtesy light.
- P u l l t h e b u l b a n d c h a n g e i t .
- C l i p t h e l e n s i n i t s h o u s i n g a n d ensure that it is secured correctly.
