STARTING

IGNITION SWITCH
Avoid attaching any heavy objects to the
key which would weigh down on its shaft
in the ignition switch; this could cause a
malfunction.
PASSENGER SAFETY
 Selection of the position:
"OFF" (deactivated), with "rearward
facing" child seat,
"ON" (activated), with front passenger or
"forward facing" child seat.

REAR SEAT BELTS FOLDING DOWN THE REAR
BACKREST
1. Release the backrest by pulling the
handle from the boot.
ACCESS TO THE REAR SEATS
1. Releasing the backrest.
2. Tilting the backrest.
AT THE REAR
2. Fold the backrest onto the seat cushion from the passenger compartment.
Press the red button
B then the black button A
to remove the seat belt.
The control giving access to the rear
seats does not release the seat.

Anti-lock
Braking
System (ABS)
fi xed.
The anti-lock braking system has
a fault. The vehicle retains conventional braking.
Drive carefully at reduced speed and contact a PEUGEOT
dealer or a qualifi ed workshop without delay.
Dynamic
stability control

(DSC/ASR) fl ashing.
The DSC/ASR regulation is
operating. The system optimises traction and improves the directional
stability of the vehicle in the event of loss of grip or
trajectory.
fi xed. The DSC/ASR system has a
fault. Have it checked by a PEUGEOT or a qualifi ed workshop.
Directional
headlamps fl ashing. The directional headlamps
system has a fault. Have it checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a qualifi ed
workshop.
Warning lamp
is on Cause Action / Observations
Seat belt not
fastened /

lamp display. The driver or front passenger has
not buckled or has unbuckled
their seat belt.
Pull on the belt in question and insert the tongue in the
buckle.
At least one rear passenger has
unbuckled their seat belt.

Under-infl ation fi xed.
The pressure in one or more
wheels is too low. Check the pressure of the tyres as soon as possible.
This check should preferably be carried out when the tyres
are cold.
+ fl ashing then fi xed,
accompanied
by the Service
warning lamp. The tyre pressure monitoring
system has a fault or no sensor is
detected on one of the wheels.
Under-infl ation detection is not assured.
Have the system checked by a PEUGEOT dealer or a
qualifi ed workshop.

MONITORING
Warning lamp is on Cause Action / Observations
Rear foglamp fi xed. The rear foglamp is switched on. Turn the ring on the stalk rearwards to switch off the rear
foglamp.
Diesel engine
pre-heating fi xed. The ignition switch is at the
2nd position (ignition on). Wait until the warning lamp has switched off before starting.
The duration for which the warning lamp is on is
determined by the climatic conditions.
Parking
brake
fi xed. The parking brake is applied or
not properly released. Release the parking brake to switch off the warning lamp,
keeping your foot on the brake pedal.
Observe the safety recommendations.
For further information on the parking brake, refer to the
"Parking brake" section.
Passenger's
front airbag fi xed on the
seat belt and
passenger's front
airbag warning
lamps display. The control switch, located on
the passenger's side of the
dashboard, has been placed in
the
"ON" position.
The passenger's front airbag is
activated.
In this case, do not install a
"rearward facing" child seat. While you do not have a rearward facing child seat fi tted
to the front passenger seat, it is recommended that the
passenger's front airbag be activated.
On the other hand, before fi tting a rearward facing child
seat, you must turn the control switch to the
"OFF"
position.

Deactivation warning lamps
If one of the following warning lamps comes on, this confi rms that the
corresponding system has been switched off intentionally.
It is accompanied by an audible signal and a message on the screen.
Depending on your version of instrument panel, illumination of the
deactivation lamp is also accompanied by:
- a symbol in the central instrument panel screen and a message in the multifunction screen,
or
- a symbol and a message in the central instrument panel screen.
Warning lamp is on Cause Action / Observations
Passenger's
front airbag fi xed, in the seat
belt and front
passenger's
airbag warning
lamps display. The control switch, located
on the passenger's end of
the dashboard, is set to the
OFF
position.
The passenger's front airbag is
deactivated.
You can install a "rearward
facing" child seat on the front
seat. Before installing a "rearward facing" child seat on the front
seat, it is
essential to deactivate the passenger's front
airbag.
On the other hand, where no "rearward facing" child seat is
present, it is recommended that the airbag be reactivated:
set the control to the ON position.

ACCESS TO THE REAR SEATS
REAR SEATS
Two-seat bench with one-piece fi xed seat cushion and one-piece folding
backrest.
The rear headrests are fi xed.
FOLDING DOWN THE REAR BACKREST
RETURNING THE REAR BACKREST TO THE UPRIGHT POSITION
When returning the backrest to the upright position, ensure that it is
locked securely to assure your safety.  Open the boot.
 Pull the backrest release handle, located under the shelf. When transporting long objects, do not place a load of more
than 30 kg on the rear of the backrest.
Do not place rough objects on the rear of the backrest which
could damage it.
 Check that the front seat has been moved forward suffi ciently.
 Pull the control upwards to tilt the backrest.
When the seat is put back in place, the backrest returns to its initial \
position.
The backrest can be folded down to increase the boot storage space.
The backrest release control is located in the boot.
 Check that the front seats have been moved forward suffi ciently.
 Check that nothing has been left on the rear seats.
 Store the seat belt buckles on their respective securing points
located between the headrests.  Fold the backrest down onto the seat cushion.

SEAT BELTS
FRONT SEAT BELTS

Fastening
 Pull the strap, then insert the tongue in the buckle.
 Check that the seat belt is fastened correctly by pulling the strap.
Unfastening
 Press the red button on the buckle.
 Guide the seat belt as it reels in.
Seat belt not fastened / unfastened warning lamps display
A. Front seat belts not fastened / unfastened warning lamp.
B. Front left seat belt warning lamp.
C. Front right seat belt warning lamp.
When the ignition is switched on, the warning lamp A comes on in the
seat belt and passenger's front airbag warning lamp display, if the driver
and/or the front passenger has not fastened their seat belt.
From approximately 12 mph (20 km/h) this warning lamp fl ashes for
two minutes accompanied by an audible signal of increasing volume.
Once these two minutes have elapsed, this warning lamp remains on
until the driver and/or the front passenger fastens their seat belt.
The warning lamp B or C for the corresponding seat comes on in red if
the seat belt is not fastened or is unfastened.
The front seat belts are fi tted with a pretensioning and force limiting
system.
This system improves safety in the front seats in the event of a front o\
r
side impact. Depending on the severity of the impact, the pretensioning \
system instantly tightens the seat belts against the body of the
occupants.
The pretensioning seat belts are active when the ignition is on.
The force limiter reduces the pressure of the seat belt on the chest of \
the occupant, so improving their protection.
